I should have known I was in trouble the moment I wanted to shut him up with my mouth.
Liam Carter, my annoyingly perfect ski instructor, with his patient smile and those hands that know exactly how to touch—skis, equipment, and apparently every nerve I have. I came to Pine Ridge to cool off after my suspension, not to spend every lesson fighting the urge to pin him against a tree and find out what sounds he makes when he's not being so damn professional. He thinks I'm reckless. He's right. He thinks I'm stubborn. Also right. He has no idea how badly I want him. That's about to change. When a blizzard traps us in an abandoned cabin with nothing but body heat and bad decisions, the cold outside has nothing on the fire building between us. And I'm done pretending I don't want to tear through all that perfect control and see who he really is underneath.
Turns out the best way to warm up isn't fighting the cold—it's surrendering to the heat.
A high-heat enemies-to-lovers Christmas romance featuring a suspended firefighter, a ski instructor with secrets, forced proximity, and enough steam to melt every snowflake on the mountain.
Taylor Knox writes emotionally rich MM romance about the men who risk everything—on the job and in love. Set in the world of firefighters, EMTs, and those who love them, her stories blend high-stakes action with slow-burning chemistry, deep vulnerability, and the kind of found family that heals old wounds.
She’s fascinated by the contrast between strength and softness, tradition and transformation—and her characters always face more than just fire. Whether it’s a rookie trying to prove himself or a battle-hardened captain learning to open his heart again, Taylor’s romances deliver intensity, tenderness, and hard-earned happy endings.
When she’s not writing about men falling in love against the odds, she’s drinking too much coffee, falling for fictional crushes, and pretending her search history is all for “research.”
This was a sweet and spicy holiday mm romance, with a grumpy firefighter, and a sunshine ski instructor who can see through the arrogance and walls. The forced proximity was steamy as they are snowed in together, and their connection is healing and wholesome.
A grumpy firefighter and a sunshine ski instructor who are finding their own path to love. Both are running from their pasts and finally find what they want or need after a ski accident and a blizzard that leaves them stuck together for three days. And it happens during Christmas.
Instalove. I liked the verbal sparing between the MCs. Noah was angry about his suspension and took it out on Liam, his ski instructor. Liam was understanding but didnt back down during Noahs rants. After colliding during a blizzard they seek shelter in a cabin. The sexual chemistry really shined at the cabin. I liked their time at the cabin, their communication was great and the story wrapped up nicely after the rescue.
💥No OMD 💥No 3rd act break. There is geography separation due to job commitments.
Few things kept it to 3 stars for me.
I was a little confused if Chapter 11 and 12 were the same visit, the same visit just written differently from each POV, or different a visit weeks apart.
**It was repetitive. Noah's suspension was mentioned 9 times in a 12 chapter book. We got it he was suspended let's focus on other stuff.
**How did they get to the emergency cabin? It just blacks out1 and the next chapter is them by a fire i. the cabin.
***One of my pet peeves, Ex boyfriends shouldn't turn into best friends. Noah was with his ex, Marcus for 3 years, living together for 2 of those years. They had a great loving relationship. The only reason they broke up was because Marcus wanted children and Noah didn't. Why is he still your emergency contact? Why are you calling him after surviving a blizzard with Liam to let him know your ok? I don't feel like it is fair to Liam. He has to compete with the guy Noah once loved, probably still does to so degree, on the regular.
