I am so glad to have found this book. I have been wanting to learn about making my own bread, particularly sourdough for some time now. I was quite excited at how easy the author makes it sound. Max Barnes does a great job of explaining how most machines work, the basic ingredients needed, popular add ins, and problem solving. I am one of those who has been intimidated by taking this on a a project so it was the perfect book for me. And honestly I was just looking to learn the basics for white bread and sourdough but the plethora of recipes included had my mouth watering and left me keen to try many of them. I also appreciated the basic guidance in what to look for in buying my first machine-something I will be doing soon. With the prices of bread at the store now a days and my own goals to be careful about what goes in my body I think this is the perfect new project for the next few months. I will be trying the potato bread, the corn bread, the chocolate marble coffee cake, the bagels, and of course the sourdough-including making my own starter from the easy to follow instructions.
