I really enjoyed this introduction to Jamie Lee Scott's newest series. I look forward to getting to know the people of Uncertain better. Well written, well paced mystery with a serious but like-able lead. I look forward to the first full length novel which will be out later this year. Although this book lacks the humor of Gotcha Detective Agency, I think I am going to love it just as much.
In this first novella, when an officer fails to check in after his supper break, Sergeant Wyatt Burke discovers his body in his home. This discovery puts Sergeant Burke in charge of the investigation, not a job he really wants but that is how things work in a small town. Although the officer has been rather standoffish during his year with the force, he is one of there own. Wyatt, feels that there is something off about the man as well as his murder.

"Uncertain Beginnings" is a good intro to the "Uncertain" series
An interesting beginning to the "Uncertain" series by Jamie Lee Scott. And a great intro to Officer Leigh into the series.
This was a very interesting and quite fast paced novella. A truly in-depth story that required a lot of concentration, which was easy as it was thoroughly engaging right from the start.

Excitement
Very interesting and exciting reading. Never expected the ending to find/ the chief was the one who committed the murders. Please keep up the good writing.
