3.5 but a very enjoyable read. Definitely a slow burn and not as exciting as I’d expected based on the synopsis. I do feel like it’s setting the foundation for things to blow up in book 2 since that one jumps time a bit though. I definitely lived some of the shenanigans and once certain things started unraveling toward the end I couldn’t wait to jump into the next book!

The characters felt super 1- dimensional. I know Liam is hood, but God is he ignorant. I love a good old fashioned bad guy meets good girl trope but Liam was too much and Leah was foolishly naive. Besides being attractive, what else does Liam have? There needs to be more to Liam (for me as the reader) to understand the lore of him- even if it is predictable.

Kelsey and Chills feel irrelevant to me- sorry.

I also couldn’t stand the writing style…. every other page the female character’s arms are folded- as if that is the only gesture to express a woman being annoyed. The spicy scenes I had to skip because Leah is literally a child (seventeen).

I just hope the second book is better. I’d put down this series…. but I was naive to purchased the second book thinking this would be good.

Liam, Taleah, Chill and Kelsey, Looking For Love

I felt sorry for Liam after a lil bit, because he did not hide who he was or what he was about!!!…I love that he encouraged Taleah to stick to her goals and take her butt to college!!!…
Taleah daddy was doing way too much!!!…Crazy how judgmental he was about Liam’s street behavior, but seen himself different when he was a dealer with a degree!!!…
Taleah made a choice to not listen and now she’s dealing with the consequences of that decision!!!…
I love Kelsey and how she wanted structure, but because she didn’t have it, she was living her life, but still staying on track to finish school!!!…I can’t wait to see what becomes of her and Chill!!!…
Poor Sophia, her tail is comfortable being the consolation prize to Liam!!!…She’s fighting for a place that Liam is not willing to let her fill!!!…

It’s a DNF for now, could be my mood. But the women crying for no reason blowing me. Leah only 17 and want a 19 year old to commit to her like he her husband. Crying and shit. Girl, you’re young with your first boyfriend relax! He’s young as well, and she cried one time too many for me for nothing! This the third book with women crying. I yelled at the phone screen “wtf you crying for, he ain’t did shit” and she just too whiny. Ready to leave him alone because he tryna make a living. Yall not on the same time but you don’t want to leave him alone. So deal with it. She fell for him too damn fast anyway. He ain’t did nothing spectacular.

I went ahead and picked this and Book 2 up after reading Demon's Dream, which I love so much. And everything that I loved in that book, I love in this one. The drama, the crime, the smut, the romance, it's all here. It's kind of an enemies to lovers romance, which is one of my favorite tropes to read. And it's told from 4 POVs, so just be cautious of that. But I never got confused as to who was speaking; it was very clear for me. Elle Kayson is officially one of my favorite authors. I could definitely read this one again.

I had to keep in my mind these are young characters.. younggg very green and naive characters lol. Idk Leah whined too darn much for me. She was acting like she was Liam wife or something. I want him to put me first before his money, i want him to respect my judgmental/hypocritical parents, i want him to hear me out but i don’t want to hear him out, i want him to want me and be there for me even if i said he’s no good for me and walked out his life.. crazy work lol. And Liam was a low effort male lol. But again younggg ppl. Anywho off to the next book.

Seven Minutes In Heaven

This book was an Excellent Read. I couldn’t put it down. The characters were relatable and engaging. The storyline was so interesting with the thugs life but I loved the relationship between Liam and Taleah and Kelsey and Chill. This storyline is absolutely about young love but true love and friendship. There is passion and jealousy and heartbreak in this story. What a cliffhanger. I anticipate part two coming soon I can’t wait.

Not a fan of young main characters Liam was a unrealistic character and Taleah was way too naive. I did enjoy the way liam handled Mr Morgan after the slick comment. I will be reading book 2 this maybe a hit for anyone who enjoys younger main characters.

Another #ellekayson read! Her books are always A+ for me. The characters started off young in book one (17 and 19 years old) so I wasn't sure if I was going to rock with it. But it surprised me! Book 2 aged them by 4 years so I didn't feel as though I was reading about teens once I got into the meat of the story. Another great read by Elle Kayson!
