I deliberately swiped left on Ethan Blackwood on the dating app. The billionaire CEO is too intense, too intimidating, too everything. Instead, I matched with a safe graphic designer who seemed perfect for me.
Then, the late-night texting starts. I confess fantasies I'd never told anyone. He responds with commanding confidence that makes my body hum.
Until I discover the the app glitched. I've been texting Ethan all along.
He knew. From the very first message.
Now he's offering me a explore my fantasies together—no strings, clear boundaries. Physical pleasure without emotional complications. And all it takes is for me to play his fake girlfriend at a few events to appease his meddling sister.
Simple. Transactional. Safe.
Except Ethan systematically fulfills every fantasy I confessed, pushing me past every limit I thought I had. And between the rooftop encounters and charity galas, the boundaries we negotiated are blurring fast.
Turns out the wrong match might be dangerously right.
A steamy standalone romance about app glitches, fake dating, and discovering that confessing fantasies to the wrong man might be the best mistake.
Title: Text Me Harder Pages: 214 Steamy: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Warnings: miscommunication/lack of communication. Smut starts: 7% (but 40% really)
She's a librarian and he's a CEO. A mishap with a dating app glitch leads to her confessing her fantasies to him. I don't know, the plot is not a huge part of this book, honestly.
It was cute! I loved the texting. The FMC was frustrating to me. She does the stereotypical woman thing of misconstruing his words and never asking for clarification. She claims that he doesn't communicate, but I felt that he was really honest about his feelings the entire time. At one point, he straight up asks her, “Are you deliberately being obtuse right now?” and I felt the exact same way. It's like she wanted to get her feelings hurt. He has way more patience with her than I did.
It also started with the explicit content early (it was hot!), then started to fade to black around the middle point. It felt like false advertising.
Overall, it's a decent read, but I think it would've been better as a novella.
This book was okay, but I was a little bored with it compared to the first book in the series. It wasn't as steamy as I would have liked, but there is some exhibitionism kink that I thought was done well. I appreciated how Ethan took the lead with Ivy's desires while still respecting her boundaries. He always gave her a chance to say no and back out. However, the way he talked seemed a little too perfect and scripted. I don't know how to explain it 🤷♀️
Minor gripe: at one point I noticed the text bubbles were out of order when Ethan was messaging Ivy, but it's not a huge deal. I still understood who was speaking in the conversation. There were a few typos as well but nothing excessive.
Overall this book is okay and I really appreciate that there's no pregnancy trope, but I don't know if I'll be continuing the series or not.
Text Me Harder by Stevie Sinclair the second book of The MisMatched Series. Nora and Ethan's story was so good and so much fun to read. Nora swiped left when you saw Ethan on a dating app and matched with a safe graphic designer she thought would be perfect for her. Then the late night texting with confessions of fantasies she has never told anyone, then she finds out she has been texting Ethan and this is where the fun begins. I loved reading their story and can't wait to read what Stevie Sinclair comes out with next.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This felt real in a lot of ways. It's so easy to fall into conversations with someone you don't know. It's felt liberating and hot. Well done. Another bonus chapter awaits.
This book was pure fire from start to finish! 🔥 The chemistry was instant, intense, and completely addictive. I loved how the author balanced the spice with real emotion, making the romance feel both steamy and heartfelt. Such a fun, fast-paced read—I couldn’t put it down. Absolutely loved it! 💕
Text me harder was Ethan and Nora’s story. It was an engaging, and exciting read. I didn’t want to put it down. And received an early copy. Am voluntarily leaving this review.
I’m not sure how things transpire but I read this right after the first one and I enjoyed this so much more. Sure there’s still minor spelling errors and the author has a tendency to reiterate statements or facts like you haven’t read the book thus far but this much better!
