Discovered in the United Nations’ Lost and Found is a formal cloth table napkin. On both sides, intricate writings of a mysterious language and perplexing diagrams cause an investigation.
Middle-aged, Dr. Lissa Ryons works as the lead forensic scientist at the heart of the busy U. N. Headquarters. Her department receives the unusual napkin for analysis where it reveals a life of its own. Due to the lab specimen’s uncommon properties, Dr. Ryons finds herself more and more distracted from her daily routine and on a personal quest. She uses U.N. resources to search for answers. Strangely, doors keep opening while a vast and powerful government entity sits in the shadows watching.
Her crew fears for her. Through unusual circumstances, this scientist, who bears a cold demeanor, enters unfamiliar territory where she’s valued and finds meaning. She wonders, “Damn, what does this specimen have to do with me?” Frustrated, she’s cornered by something foreign, yet good. The unknown pursuer is closer than she thinks.
