As I've mentioned in the past, I'm a huge Japanese history and culture nerd. I've read several books by this publishing company that include Japanese history at this point, and I found this one difficult to finish. While I know the history of this country is expansive and the powers were ever-changing, the way the information was presented became very confusing. I did really appreciate the timeline review at the end of each chapter to help summarize the important people and events of each period.

Interesting format more like Timeline journal entries highlights of bad, perhaps even history is also negatively focus. I guess no one logs the beautiful sun came up and everyone is happy strolling about, guess there will always be such tales of war and bad. How many years to weed out the bad DNA…?
