Avery Samson grew up on a ranch outside of a small west Texas town. Since she could remember, she’s had her face stuck in a book. High School graduation found her leaving ranch life for the big city.

After living all over the state of Texas, she now finds herself back on one of the family ranches near Dallas with her husband surrounded by cattle. A lot of them. They’re everywhere! When not traveling or reading, she spends her time writing.

Avery would love for you to follow her. She’s everywhere (just like those damn cows.)

A quick and easy read with slight supernatural vibes as Fox Addams finds himself torn between two women, the one he lives with who’s growing more and more erratic by the day and her sister, the woman he should be with, something he’s coming to realise more and more but in staying with her sister he’s protecting an innocent child.

Unbearable was the fifth book in the Inhuman Protectors series but it was the first one I’ve read so while I enjoyed this story I do believe I’d have liked it more if I had read the previous books first for more background on Fox’s new found family who shared his and his sister’s uncanny abilities. I loved the underlying plot involving a serial killer and the connection with Fox via his sister, the detective investigating the case, but I felt the romance element wasn’t really central to the overall story and if anything Unbearable was more setting the scene for Fox’s sister’s Dover and Sean’s upcoming story as it continues the serial killer plot.

On a side note I know a lot of people don’t like the idea of cheating in a romance, but here Fox’s relationship with his live in partner was more a case of him tolerating her to provide a safe place for her son which was how he had met her sister as they worked together to protect him.
