As if the unwilling magic girl wasn't enough to get me to give this five stars, I also was gifted a titular reference and implications of granny+granny yuri??????? And baseball pt 2 ofc
This is the best volume of manga I have ever read but simultaneously I feel like the author reached into my chest and ripped my heart out. The culmination of the Danmara arc was so exciting, with a new anti-hero, new friendships, one of the most gut wrenching departures I have ever seen, and finally someone asking the question about the title of the series. I’m taking a pause for now but can’t wait to come back to these characters ❤️
OK SUE ME. I ENJOY RIN. i think her story is fun and yes... i don't think her outfit is great when she transforms BUT THAT CAN CHANGE... i really enjoyed this arc and the end was great. who the HELL is saint-germain. he knows way too much and i get not great vibes from him but... he finished the job .... BUT WHO CARES. ZUMA AND HIS POLICEMAN FATHER IS THE BEST. zuma's entire story brings me to tears and their relationship is one of the best in the entire series. bring back zuma please <3 i miss him.
BALLS BACK AS WELL YIPEE

Because it's been so long since I read the last volume, this one felt like it started in the middle of nowhere (though it didn't take too long to remember!)- I still don't really know the intentions of Count Saint Germain (yes, he is a collector...but like what else?). I can't image things are just going to end like that though. As much as I like the story so far, it does seem to get PRETTY ridiculous at times (and while I acknowledge that IS the charm) I hope they aren't doing this just to drag out the series- I do hope for it to end well and not just screech on forever for the sake of it :/
While this comic is still fun with some good action, it is getting crowded with side-characters, including one new character who just..... walked into the action with no explanation.
There are developments (both serious and weird) with the main two characters, but the crowded-ness of the series is drawing spotlight away from them and from other side-characters I rather like. Not as bad as Bleach (which truly jumped the shark in its firehose of new characters!) but still, aggravating and unnecessary.
I haven't really reviewed each volume but I just wanted to say HE CONFESSED. HE SAID IT. FINALLY. Momo then immediately letting go and saying "Let's get out of here and you can confess to me properly" made me melt a bit they're so sweet I love my kids.

Me llegó mucho.
Wow it is like we have many things coming to an end here and possible bright beginnings? Obviously we finished up the weird fairy tale arc and that is one I am not completely sure how well I enjoyed overall. The weirdness definitely sits well with the rest of the series though We also got Okarun finally confessing to Momo. I was stunned when we got to that big beautiful picture! How long have we waited? Okarun gets his jewel back and completes his promise to Turbo Granny then she walks out? Can this be the end of things as we know it for nineteen volumes? But with all that has gone on I can't see things coming to a close just yet and I feel like there is a surprise just waiting for us around the bend.
There are different ends of the spectrum when it comes to ongoing manga I’m keeping up with. On one end of the spectrum is Spy x Family. On the other end of the spectrum is Dandadan which just (no spoilers) had a title drop and a lot of other really key big story beats hit in this volume. It’s all really good stuff and has me super hyped. And that is not to say that I don’t have gripes. The way Rin was handled in this volume is a bit uncomfortable though I think there’s a discussion to be had about whether that’s part of the point. In any case, this series continues to be the surprise series that keeps chugging along reliably and in stunning fashion. Don’t let me down, boo, I’ve been hurt too many times before.
The only reason this is four stars is because of all the strong work the author put into this volume. It has all the strong emotional family stuff that I like in this manga with some extra sick action to boot. The only thing that holds it back from being a five star volume is the fan service. The maid outfit was one thing. It was gross, and I hated it, but it was one thing. Rin's outfit is far more scantily clad and far grosser. If that is what is expected for idols to wear, I'm shocked. There were so many better option for the author to choose, and yet he didn't. I love so much about this series but it just can't shake some of the creepier aspects sometimes.
4/5 The wrap up to the fairy tale card and cursed board game ends here. We get more information about Saint Germain but there are still a ton of unanswered questions there. After 19 volume Okarun is whole. But now the gang has a new small problem. Also bikini armor idol Rin! I’m all caught up now with the Japanese volumes released but there are about 3 more volumes worth of chapters to be completely caught up.
