Born with fire in his veins and blades on his feet, Michal's life was defined by the rink. From sleepless early mornings to international arenas, he chased glory and found it. But when injury forced him to hang up his skates, he was left with a devastating Who am I if I’m not a hockey player?
In this raw and gripping autobiography, Michal opens up about the pain of letting go, the loneliness of identity loss, and the hidden mental battles behind the highlight reels. Yet through every fall, he rose stronger, wiser, and more human than ever.
A powerful tale of resilience, Life Doesn’t End up Here is not just for hockey fans, it’s for anyone who has ever had to start over, rebuild their purpose, or rediscover who they truly are… you’ll see yourself in these pages. Michal Mrazik’s journey will break your heart, then inspire you to fight for your own comeback.
European hockey player shares his personal story pursuing athletic excellence. Hardships and unsavory outcomes push Mrázik to reconfigure his NHL goals and challenge the young hockey player to philosophically look inward—documenting his journey via intimate journal entries along the way.
as a former athlete myself (on a much smaller scale), i related to a lot of aspects of this story and found his perspective very valuable. i’m a huge hockey fan, so i’ve known of michal mrázik for a few years but i never really knew too much about his story until he retired. i found out about this book a few weeks ago and i just knew that i had to read it. i was a bit sad when he mentioned the rangers, as that is my favorite team and i would’ve loved to see him play for them
4.5 All though I am not an athlete myself I related to many things in this book and as young person motivates me to keep going with what I am doing and that I'm not the only one going through this. As a new ice hockey fan it was interesting to hear more of the story behind how to become a professional athlete which makes you appreciate the work that they put into Their careers.
Interesting prose. Diary entries along with personal philosophy. Expected more insight and linkage between events. Appreciated effort though, and could clearly see the personality shining through which is how I prefer biographies. What you see is what you get. I got it.
