About the author

Donna Kelly is a mystery writer and freelance journalist. She is also the theater critic for the Ledger, the daily newspaper of Lakeland Florida. She is also the writer-in-residence at Arts Ensemble Education Foundation in Winter Haven.

Since childhood, Donna’s fascination with regional folklore, the stories human minds create to explain what happens in the world, and the quirky history of people around the globe, has generated poems, short stories, and book ideas. The paranormal and spiritual beliefs of mankind kindle her imagination.

In 2012, Donna set out to achieve her lifelong goal of becoming an author. Combining ideas garnered during her 15 year tenure as a newspaper journalist with her love of research and writing, Donna began honing her craft while writing four cozy mysteries for Annie’s Publishing.

This book is the 10th in a series called Annie's Quilted Mysteries. I highly recommend these books, 1 through 12 in the series to anyone who likes cozy mysteries. They're fun and well written.

This is the first book I’ve read in the Annie’s Quilted Mysteries series. (I started in the middle.). I will need to go back and read the first one, now.

This one was rather bland. The characters were forgettable, accept for a snarky aunt named Dottie Faye. The descriptions of Ireland were delightful, but the characters were often more interested in sightseeing than solving the mystery—even when one of them is arrested for murder!

This one gets me one more closer to the end of the series and the end of the mystery. I liked that this one has a little more about Kelly and her family than Emma and Dottie Faye. They were all still there but, I feel like they finally fleshed out a little about Maeve and Kelly. Since they have been in every book, I think I should know more about them by now.

Follow Emma, Kelly, Maeve and Aunt Dottie Faye as they travel to Ireland to search for the person that killed their friend Rose. While there they end up in a couple of mysteries of their own. Donna has a way of writing that makes you feel as if you were part of the story. There is always at least one character that you can relate to. The scenery is describer beautifully and you can almost see some of it, as if you were there. This book had much more spirit and livliness to it than her 2nd book and was a much quicker read.

Emma, Kelly, Maeve and Aunt Dottie go to Ireland to seek out another of Rose's students in an effort to solve her murder. Maeve ends up being charged with the murder of her father's best friend.
