The Kingsleys of Ruby River #2

10 Rings I Hate About You

Rate this book
One chaotic goat. One high-stakes grant. One Glamma-level scheme to turn enemies into something far more dangerous.

Delaney:
I've been in hate with Marc Kingsley for twenty years.

He's logical. Controlled. And completely incapable of understanding anything that can't be proven—like my shop, my beliefs ... me.

So, of course, I move back to Ruby River and immediately get stuck running an animal yoga class with him.

Thanks, Glamma.

Now we're working side by side to help the local shelter—him with facts, me with instinct, and one chaos-loving goat trying to destroy us both.

But the more time I spend with Marc, the less he fits the version of him I've held onto for years.

Because the man I thought I hated ...

He's patient, Protective. And starting to look at me like I'm something worth believing in.

Marc:
Delaney has never made sense to me. I'm better with facts than people.

She believes in things I can't measure. Feels things I can't explain. And somehow manages to dismantle every bit of control I rely on.

Which is a problem—because this yoga class determines whether the Ruby River shelter gets the grant it needs.

I should be focused. Professional. Unaffected.

Instead, I'm noticing everything.

The way she lights up a room. The way she refuses to give up. The way being near her feels less like chaos ... and more like clarity.

And somewhere between the arguments and the late nights. I realize something I should've figured out years ago.

I don't hate Delaney.

I never did.

And now that I finally have a chance with her ... I'm going for it.

All in. All the way.

This small-town romcom features a hate-ish to lovers, found family, a plus-size heroine finding her place, a cinnamon-roll veterinarian with a dirty mouth, one chaos-loving goat, and a Glamma determined to make sure they fall in love—even if she has to force them together.

If you’re looking for a book that feels like a warm hug and a chaotic comedy special all at once, you have to pick this up.

Ruby River is full of small-town magic, from a meddling grandma squad to a hilarious goat named Chaos who constantly steals the show. It’s such a cozy, lighthearted escape that makes you want to move right in. My only tiny gripe is that I’m impatient and wanted even more scenes of them as an official couple, but the vibe is honestly perfect.

The spark between Marc and Delaney is electric. He’s a blunt, logical vet and she’s a soulful shop owner trying to navigate life after losing her aunt. They’ve been bickering since childhood, so watching that friction turn into a deep, protective love was so rewarding. Marc is incredibly respectful and patient, and while their romance is a total slow burn, the emotional payoff makes every bit of that tension worth the wait.

What really got me was the heart beneath the humor. The story handles Delaney’s grief and Marc’s neurodivergence with so much care and genuine feeling. It’s a beautiful reminder that you don’t have to handle the hard stuff alone. I would’ve loved a slightly longer epilogue to soak in their happiness, but it was still a deeply comforting read.

I’m already counting down the days until I can jump back into this world and see what kind of trouble Glamma and Chaos get into next.

Huge thank you to the lovely author, Stephanie Harrell and her Team for the ARC! 😍 All my bookish thoughts are completely my own. ✨

Thank you, Stephanie, for providing me with an ARC of this book.

After loving and falling for Ruby Rivers, I knew I wanted to read more books in this series. The overall setting of the book was funny, serious, emotional and engaging.

The small-town, meddling grandmothers' vibe, along with witty banter and grief, added so much to the characters and the story.

Marc was so sweet, observant, caring, calm, slightly grumpy and logical. I loved how beautifully his personality was explored and expressed; that man had many colours to him, and it was an absolute bliss to read them all. He was so adorable with Chaos. The way he talked to the goat was very relatable as a pet parent.

Delaney was assertive, sassy, compassionate, and unwavering. I loved how she always stood up for herself and others. Her initial dislike of Marc felt unfair, but damn, that moment when it all shifted for her was so well written. The way she understood and complimented him was damn good.

You could see my eyes light up every time there was a hidden attraction between them. And omg, that first date might as well have killed me.

Marc, being a freak in sheets, a dominant one, was not at all what I was expecting, but that man knew what he was doing, and I was SAT for it.

Marc and Del were so good together; their relationship was not just about the fun banter, but also about standing beside and supporting each other. The way their relationship developed was so beautiful. Their romance was so easy to read.

I personally enjoyed when the switch flipped for them; it never turned off - the spark, chemistry, relationship just kept improving with each second.

Side characters and plot -
1. Chaos was the cutest menace.
2. Glamma meddling with her Golden Girls group will forever be iconic. The nosy small-town vibe never fails to be fun. I enjoyed it so much.
3. Loved the glimpse of the Kingsley family.
4. Theo, Adele and Wyatt, Grace and Josh were all such good side characters. I'm hoping to read all of their stories in future.
5. One thing I love about small-town romances is the sense of community that comes from that setting, and Ruby Rivers never failed to make me feel at home.
__________________

The ending was bittersweet. I cannot wait to read future books in this series and stories of other side characters.

Bonus chapters are always pleasant to read, and this one was no exception.

Enjoyed it.
Overall 4/5.

REVIEW OF ADVANCED READERS COPY!

first off again thank you so much to Love Notes PR and Stephanie Harrell for giving me the opportunity to be an ARC reader!

i’m beginning to think meddling grandmas (who are right!) and goats who bring people together should be in more books! Glamma was loud and proud to speak about things she wanted and knew was right for her grandkids! Chaos the goat, the little menace he was will forever be funny bringing his parents together.

after her favorite aunt passes away Delaney Hart is taken to the small town of Ruby River to take over her shop. she thinks she doesn’t fit in and won’t be able to keep the store up to her aunt’s standards
enter Marc Kingsley the town veterinarian who likes data and straight facts and helping others and animals although he and Delaney “do not get along” he helps show her she is more than just what’s in her head

this enemies to lovers, grumpy x grumpy is such a nice and easy read that kept me engaged the entire time! from beginning to end. i enjoyed getting to see Marc and Delaney “hate” each other in the beginning but also Marc being 100% protective of her when Chaos the goat came trotting through the town in the morning that they were both outside. in come Glamma intervening (again) after a quick spread of the word that makes them have to work together. also enter her yelling at a spoiled old lady and winning him in an auction that they got to spend time together and see that they were exactly what they needed! reading this book showed me no matter how much time has passed or how alone you are and do things someone will always come to rescue you and be there to help you. i thoroughly enjoyed the story writing and plot that was displayed !

Marc and Delaney will forever be in my heart and i can’t wait for everyone to read !

Stephanie Harrell has done it again with 10 Rings I Hate About You. This book was such an enjoyable and delightful read from beginning to end.

Glamma once again proved she is iconic, but honestly… Chaos the goat completely stole the show for me. His antics had me laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes more than once.

The chemistry between Delaney and Marc was absolutely electric. I loved the way Stephanie handled Marc’s neurodivergence with so much care while also showing Delaney navigating the grief of losing her aunt, the one person who had truly shown her unconditional love her entire life. Their story felt heartfelt, emotional, and full of warmth.

Ruby River continues to feel like a place I never want to leave, and I already cannot wait to return to read about the next Kingsley finding love.

Thank you Stephanie Harrell for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This rampaging romp of good stomping splendour and round a bender storyline is divine. The talent of Stephanie Harrell Author to tell it like it is with lots of fizz and humour throughout is going to fly off the shelf itself of that there’s no doubt.

Can’t you just tell already that these two do not get on? “You are an aggressively closed-minded individual, Marcus Kingsley. Not that I should be surprised when your worldview ends at what you can see under a microscope—” that’s Delaney ,she’s actually quite brainy. Even when the goat that bleated had those brain cells momentarily depleted… “My worldview ends at evidence-based reality,” Yeah that’s Marc ,though he’s all bark and a softie really especially for her…

Book number two in Kingsleys of Ruby River gives a delightful shiver and not a shudder, because Marcus/Marc never did hate on Delaney not really and now he’s got the rudder ,he’s planning on steering this relationship his way and freely….

Delaney is lost at sea in Ruby River, truth be known ,though she has assistant Cheryl and all the chakra and things in place at the shop her Aunt’s , she still can’t believe that she now does own. It doesn’t stop the little girl lost coming through because without Aunt Jem to steer her on the right path, she doesn’t quite know what to do with the aftermath. Her parents loved with conditions and permissions in place it’s true. Her aunt’s love was unconditional and pure. It’s her love she could always be sure of too.She hasn’t yet unpacked her bags nor her pain truth be told. She’s afraid to let herself go adrift and can’t quite get over her childhood rift nor be bold…

From the first pages I was in love with this book and I was dangling freely on its hook. With pearls or should I say peals of laughter it’s what every girl wants and more importantly not just an happily ever after but lots of kids ….IYKYK “A rogue goat. Apparently Ruby River has entered its chaos-farm-animal era.”

You see! Chaos ! Butt ( yes intentional typo) in Ruby River they don’t make a fuss nor cuss or hype ,oh no never ,even though they might secretly …ha yeah right …be in love with a guy (while emitting a sigh) called Marcus.

Sophia - call me Glamma ain’t she clever? She isn’t swayed in fact ,well played I’d say because this woman of a certain age on a rampage with her grandson’s love life in the palm of her hand lives her life on demand and not on the never, never.

They were on the skids since kids ,instant un-attraction with each and every action and reaction . Or were they? Because Glamma deems them a worthy match for dispatch soon towards an honeymoon, maybe in June…

Scheming by the ladies four ,the Sparkle Squad of Octogenarians who I don’t think are vegetarians, brings to the fore a Veterinarian and a Yoga instructor working together like none have before ..The comedic timing added to by friends and family has to be on a highlight reel. Uproarious! Glorious! It’s real feel class with sass. Perfectly penned Stephanie lass.

Will they make them see that this is their destiny ? Will Glamma find her own true love? Will the ladies find another match while drinking tea? Maybe… But to get the answers to these and more , you know what to do . Pick up this rip roaring triumph that is 10 Rings I Hate About You by Stephanie Harrell today ,it’ll certainly brighten your day.

The characters are a veritable dream,a scream. There’s a whole team of them teeming from the page. The Golden Girls ,Martha ,Gladys and Goldie led by Glamma of course and there’s Ruby River’s own Statler and Waldorf, Walt and Reggie Jones. Then there’s Anita MacGuire who made him perspire. Everly Grant the Mayor ,Josh and Penny ,can’t forget Adele who is running mum n dad’s store and Cheryl who helps out Delaney’s business. Grace ,Marc’s sis who we adore. There’s a whole host of them who are as zany as they come. Can’t wait to see the next book in series and the outcome of this bliss.

When the very first chapter starts with chaos and a goat turns out to be a better wingman than most men, you already know you’re in for a good time. Honestly, that goat felt like a paid actor. 😂

And then we have childhood “friends,” awkward tension, and a socially awkward MMC who accidentally comes across rude while genuinely trying his best? Adorable.

The first chapter alone gives you:
🐐 a reckless goat
🩷 a woman with an overly kind heart
🐻 a man desperately trying to keep her alive while only communicating through arguing

And somehow… it works perfectly.

I absolutely loved the setup of this story. Delaney returns to town while Mark is trying to help the local animal shelter, and then the grandma squad enters the scene with their matchmaking masterplan. Honestly, they felt like the Golden Girls running the entire town from the shadows, and I mean that as the highest compliment possible.

Their big idea? Animal yoga classes with shelter animals, with Delaney leading the classes and Mark supervising everything as the town vet. Which would already be cute enough… except these two can barely stand each other at first.

And chapter ten?
The grandma interrogation nearly took me out. The way they disguised relationship questions as “teamwork exercises” for the yoga class was hilarious and somehow also the cutest thing ever. Those grannies were shipping them shamelessly from day one. Go Glammy. 😌

One of my favorite things about this book was Mark. He’s autistic, and the way his character was written felt incredibly lovable and genuine. His social awkwardness, the way he processes things, the way he cares… it all felt so natural. And honestly? He ended up being both completely unexpected and exactly what you would want in a partner.

Also… that mini fridge situation?
Sir. 😮‍💨

The story balances humor, grief, healing, romance, and personal growth in such a beautiful way. I found myself giggling constantly, but I also cried a little. The emotional moments were handled with so much care and warmth.

What I appreciated most was the lack of unnecessary drama. I kept waiting for some huge misunderstanding or painful conflict to ruin the happiness, and thankfully, it never came. Instead, this book felt safe, comforting, hopeful, and full of love.

And during such a stressful time in my own life, preparing for exams, dealing with personal things, and surviving exhausting work shifts, this story genuinely brought me lightness. It felt like a breather. A place to recharge emotionally.

This honestly felt like a warm Christmas story wrapped into spring. Cozy, healing, funny, and full of people who truly show up for each other.

And the goat eating one of the ten rings Mark got from his grandma? 😭😂
Of course the tiny chaos gremlin would do exactly that.

I loved Delaney. I loved Mark. I loved the entire family and social circle surrounding them. Every character added something meaningful and comforting to the story.

This is absolutely the kind of book I’d recommend when life feels overwhelming and you just need something soft, hopeful, and full of heart.

And honestly? Lauren Blakely is one of the highest compliments I can give when it comes to how a book makes me feel, and this author absolutely reached that level for me.

Thank you for writing a story that felt like light during a heavy time. 🩷

5 Stars AND 5 Baby Goats!!
I will be honest, I have read a few of the Ruby River books by this author before. I have laughed out loud, cried at emotional scenes, cringed at embarrassing moments, and I have LOVED the Spice scenes. HOWEVER, this book has quickly become my FAVORITE RUBY RIVER BOOK YET! It called to me emotionally and created a spot in my heart.

The MFC, Main Female Character, in this book is Delaney Hart. Delaney is a fluffy young woman in her mid to late 20s with emerald green eyes and dark hair with purple ends. Delaney has returned to Ruby River where she spent many enjoyable summers with her Aunt who ran a small gemstone and incense shop in the downtown area. Only this time she has come to stay, she hopes. Her Aunt passed away and left the shop to Delaney. When the story starts Delaney is in denial to some degree that her aunt will never come back. She is full of self-doubt as to if she can run the shop, will people in Ruby River accept her, will she be able to handle her shop being so close to the HORRIBLE boy she spent summers growing up with, will she ever be able to go into her Aunt’s bedroom, and most importantly is she TOO MUCH for people to handle? Delaney grew up hearing from many people that she was too big, too loud, too spontaneous, too much to handle. After awhile one starts to believe it. Can Ruby River change this?

The MMC, Main Male Character is Marc Kingsley. He is a member of the town’s founding families and he runs the local Veterinarians. Marc loves order, the expected, being able to plan for all possibilities, handling his environment to allow maximum safety and comfort. He HATES loud noises, unexpected events, things he can’t control. He has no comprehension really why Delaney hates him so much and has hated him for many, many summers. It is just a fact. Facts he can handle. All he knows is that while she grates his nerves he is also drawn to her in a way he has never felt for anyone. WHY?? He hates CHAOS and getting too near Delaney always brings CHAOS!

So, at this time enter CHAOS! No! Really! Chaos! In the form of a very cute, sweet, irresistible yet quite rude, enthusiastic, ‘chaos’ creating baby goat!! Chaos made me laugh so many times in this book! Yet can a tiny baby goat help bring them together? Is that enough?

NO! So enter GLAMMA! Glamma is Marc’s Grandmother and she literally runs the town with her three best Octogenarian friends. Glamma has plans for Marc. Glamma sees all, knows all, and loves to meddle in all. Yet she has a magic touch when it comes to her family and the town of Ruby River and her meddling often brings wonderful things come to life. Yet can even Glamma’s magic bring these two together with the adorable baby goat AND save the town’s Animal Shelter? Is she magical enough??

Read this book when it comes out tomorrow 5/17/2026 and find out! Who knows, maybe the river will turn crimson for this couple. One never knows.

I received a free copy of this book as an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Review: What’s not to love? Childhood friends, now “enemies” can’t escape the chemistry that is pulling them together. First thrown back together by a goat named Chaos, Marc the analytical thinker vet and Delaney the crystals and chakra aligning shop owner, fall prey to small town life. When Glamma and her squad of ladies decide to stir the pot, the two former friends are forced to work together. The distance between them melts away and it results in a sweet HEA for Marc & Delaney.

It’s slow burn, so the spice doesn’t hit for a while. But when it does it’s on fire. The tension between the main characters is what draws you in. I was frustrated with the tension…I wanted them to finally admit what we all knew was happening all along. But it kept me invested. Meddling Glamma and her friends was fun and light hearted. The handling of the mild autism was nuanced and finessed in such a way that it didn’t make it stand out overtly. None of the plot or dialog felt forced and/or unnatural.
As with all of Stephanie’s books, I strongly recommend. As always, read the content warnings first, however.

Marc and Delaney have all the wonderful banter and hate to love you could want. Delaney is an interesting mix of new age/go with the flow and snarky, quick witted sweetheart with a hard outer shell. Marc blends analytical, fact- focused and detail oriented with the pleasure Dom of my dreams.

Like the last book in the series, Ruby River is a super cute small town with all the same quirky characters you loved. Glamma and her sparkle squad are everything I've always wanted to be when I turn 80- unfiltered, fabulous, and doing whatever they want with lots of love. The Kingsley family in general is loving and supportive as always, you can feel their care for each other with every word.

The main plot is centered around everyone trying to smack some sense into Marc and Delaney to see how good they could be together. Excellent use of small town ingenuity to create scenarios to force them to open their eyes. With Glamma at the helm, they focus on the animal shelter, and specifically yoga classes with adoptable animals to bring out the best in Marc and Delaney.

Honorable mentions to my favorite parts of the book are Chaos the goat, and Marc helping Delaney through her grief over losing her aunt. Chaos plays his role as lovable chaos demon well, attaching himself to his chosen humans and furthering the plot and their relationship, while causing as much destruction as possible. 10/10, would pet if getting within touching distance wasn't risking my life and wardrobe. Delaney's aunt Jem was her favorite person, and she has been avoiding dealing with so many things since moving to Ruby River. Marc is a perfect partner to get her through the hard things. It would be surprising how good he is at taking care of her emotionally if we hadn't seen the way his family takes care of each other.

But my favorite part of the book is the way Marc is in the bedroom. He brings his attention to detail and the way he watches first into the way he treats Delaney, and I think I enjoyed it almost as much as she did. TL;DR, the spice is top notch!

In conclusion, you will not regret coming back to Ruby River to hang out with Glamma and the gang again. I think this book was better than the first, and I can't wait to see the next couple to suffer through Glamma's meddling.

First of all, huge thank you to Love Notes PR and Stephanie Harrell for letting me be an ARC reader for this one! 💕

This book felt like Gilmore Girls and Golden Girls collided in the best possible way, full of small-town charm, sharp banter, meddling grandmas, emotional healing, and one absolutely unhinged goat named Chaos who deserves his own fan club immediately. 🐐

Delaney returns to Ruby River after losing her beloved aunt and suddenly finds herself trying to take over a life and a shop she doesn’t think she’s capable of handling. She’s carrying around so much grief and self-doubt that it honestly hurt watching her convince herself she didn’t belong anywhere. Then there’s Marc, the town vet, who runs on logic, schedules, and facts… except none of that seems to help when Delaney is around.

These two spent so much time getting under each other’s skin because neither of them seemed capable of having a normal conversation without some kind of irritation slipping through, but the chemistry and tension between them made every interaction so entertaining.

And honestly? The side characters stole the show just as much as the romance. Glamma and her friends were chaotic masterminds and I loved every second of their interference. That impromptu interrogation at dinner? The way they answered each question and realized how much they actually knew eachother? Perfection! 🫠
I’m officially convinced every romance book needs a loud grandma who thinks she knows best (because she absolutely does) and a troublemaking animal bringing two stubborn people together. Chaos the goat causing havoc around town while accidentally playing matchmaker had me laughing every time he appeared. And the way Marc saved her in the beginning? Yeah, that was perfection!

What I loved most was how soft the story became underneath all the humor. Watching Delaney slowly realize she didn’t have to carry everything alone, and seeing Marc quietly become someone she could lean on, made the romance feel incredibly comforting. Even when they were bickering, there was always this sense that they were exactly what the other person needed.

Cute, funny, emotional, and ridiculously easy to binge! This was such a cozy small-town romance and I enjoyed every second of it. 💖

This book had everything I want in a small-town romance: tension, banter, emotional depth, meddling side characters, and a hero absolutely gone for the heroine long before he admitted it to himself.

Marc was in such deep denial at first, but the second Delaney was in danger, this man moved without hesitation. And honestly? He cared so deeply even when he struggled to express it properly.

Delaney’s grief added such a tender layer to the story. Losing the aunt who raised her, guided her spiritually, and loved her unconditionally left her carrying so much pressure on her shoulders, especially with how badly she wanted the town to accept her. I really appreciated how the story gave her space to process that grief instead of brushing past it.

The chemistry between these two was excellent from the start. The banter, the tension, the jealousy, the compatibility cards, the disastrous yoga session, the bachelor auction dinner, every interaction kept building their connection in a way that felt natural and believable. Their relationship developed emotionally alongside the attraction, which made every romantic moment hit even harder.

And Marc? Elite book boyfriend material. CONSENT KING, Supportive, patient, attentive, communicative, and deeply respectful. The way he gave Delaney space while still showing up for her emotionally was one of my favorite parts of the book. There were multiple moments where he completely melted me, especially during the quieter, more intimate scenes. The way this man worshipped her, was everything and more.

The side characters absolutely stole scenes too. Glamma and her squad were chaotic meddlers in the best possible way, Josh was such a supportive friend, Adele was delightfully extra, and Grace being protective of her brother was incredibly sweet. The setup for future couples has me fully invested already.

I also loved that the ending was an HEA without rushing into specifics, they wanted to take their time as a couple bf/gf. It felt earned, mature, and realistic for where they were emotionally.

Now I desperately need to know what happened between Wyatt and Adele… and I will absolutely be reading Josh and Grace’s story.

Thank you to Stephanie Harrell for the ARC!

The Kingsley’s of Ruby River (2)
-No Rings Attached
-10 Rings I hate about you

I’m going to try and stop this review becoming a full
Ode to the delight that is GLAMMA but if I could just start with that. This is the second installment in the Ruby River series and our second chance to witness the gift to the world that is GLAMMA (glamorous grandma, duh), matriarch of the Kingsleys, working her magic on the town she calls home and on her Grandsons in particular. What a delight. What a woman. I adore her so much.

Delaney and Marc are wonderful, complicated people who have been rubbing each other up the wrong way since they were children whilst simultaneously always remaining very aware of the other. I enjoyed how the enemies to lovers aspect was played out as a misunderstanding between children and how their similarities shine through, even if both were reluctant to see it. Of course this wouldn’t be a Ruby River romance without town interference, Glamma with her glam squad openly plotting and lots of heart, I loved it.

This is funny, swoony, spicy and sweet. It shows the importance of community and found family and will warm your cockles. The spice is excellent, we love to see a strong plus sized woman being worshipped! To top it all off Delaney is dealing with the complicated grief process after losing her Aunt and I thought the way this was handled showed real sensitivity, heartbreaking and warming at the same time.

Definitely worth a read, could be read as a standalone but I would definitely recommend reading book one first, No Rings Attached because it is also a great read.

The side characters in this are top tier, I cannot wait for them to have their own books! I was picking up every crumb and speck of hint as to what those plots could be so I will be on the edge of my seat waiting for them.

Thank you to the author for the advanced reader copy, an absolute honour!

Loved it!

For you if you like: small town / flirting by text / dislike to lovers (but tbh they've both noticed everything about the other their whole lives) / grief rep / neurodivergent mmc / body diversity (fmc) / goats who are a town menace / the best family and friend group / everyone-can-see-it-but-the-mcs

For me - this one is a definite "I'll re-read it" - which is what makes it a 5-star read for me.

Marc (the town veterinarian) and Delaney (business owner and yoga teacher who grew up coming to Ruby River and took over the late aunt's store) have been adversaries since they were children at summer camp. Now they're all grown up, and have other work together to run a community animal-yoga class to help the local animal shelter win a huge grant. They have to confront and challenge their assumptions about one another in order to make it work (with the help of Glamma and her grandma squad), realizing that perhaps they don't hate each other so much after all...

This story has so many relatable and heart-wrecking and putting-back-together elements. Delaney's grief over her aunt's passing, and her feelings about belonging (or worries about not) to the small-town community, and Marc's neurodivergence are so well-written - they'll make you laugh and cry (sometimes in quick succession). Chasing Chaos the goat throughout the storyline, it's such a quick read that'll make you miss the Ruby River crew when you're done!

Fortunately, I see a few more pairings coming in hot... one of the best things about getting to go back to Ruby River is that everyone in town feels like a fully realized character and I'm so excited to see Glamma and her crew back again, and so excited to see Ellie and Drew again (eeeee no spoilers but eeeee), and for more to come with Wyatt, Adele, Grace, Josh, Cheryl, Theo, and the rest of the crew.

*Opinions are my own, and I am grateful to Love Notes PR and the author of an eARC of this book.

10 Rings I Hate About You by Stephanie Harrell* was such a fun, addictive, and genuinely entertaining romance read 🐐✨ From the very beginning, Marc and Delaney’s chemistry completely carried the story. The mix of rivalry, tension, banter, and emotional moments made this one of those books that was nearly impossible to put down.

Marc was such a great romance hero because underneath all the confidence and teasing, there’s a much more emotionally layered side to him that slowly starts to come through as the story progresses. I loved the way his relationship with Delaney constantly balanced frustration and attraction, making every interaction between them feel entertaining and emotionally charged. The more vulnerable moments from him honestly made the relationship feel even stronger.

Delaney was just as easy to root for because she’s independent, witty, and fully capable of matching Marc’s energy. I really enjoyed watching her slowly lower her guard throughout the story while still maintaining her strong personality. Her banter with Marc was easily one of my favorite parts of the book because it made their relationship feel natural, chaotic, and genuinely fun to read.

One of my favorite things about this story was how well it balanced humor with emotional depth. Beneath all the teasing and rivalry, there’s a really strong emotional connection developing between Marc and Delaney that made their relationship feel meaningful instead of just playful. Every chapter kept building the chemistry and emotional tension in a way that made it impossible not to stay invested in their story.

Overall, 10 Rings I Hate About You was an easy 5-star read for me ⭐️ The combination of banter, chemistry, emotional growth, and rom-com energy made this such a satisfying romance from beginning to end, and Marc and Delaney completely won me over.

What if the line between love and hate really is that thin?

10 Rings I Hate About You is the latest in the Kingsleys of Ruby River series, and I hope you are ready to fall deeper in love.

Delaney and Marc have been enemies since childhood, and now, they’ve been tasked to work together to create an animal yoga event for the local shelter.

Delaney is bright, outgoing, and every chaotic thing that usually sets Marc into a spiral. Marc is careful, quiet, and is a type of personality that Delaney can’t read. They appear to be oil and water, but in reality, they mix better than you can imagine.

From a mischievous baby goat to town hall meetings to nosy small town neighbors, Delaney and Marc’s story is a special kind of chaos that will give you all the feels. I lost count of the number of times I fell into extended laughter, teared up, and sighed as their story progressed.

Delaney and Marc both have been hurt, sometimes intentionally but most of the time not, by each other throughout the years. Delaney’s need to be accepted and cared for and Marc’s need for structure were very much at odds. Getting to read along as they work through those differences and follow the path to each other is heartwarming, and for those looking for some spice in the cozy, you aren’t ready for this.

Ruby River wouldn’t be complete without its inhabitants stirring up trouble, and if you’ve already met Glamma and her Golden Girls, you’re going to love all their hijinks. Once you add in a goat and a town full of people ready to show up for each other, you have the perfect recipe for a story that you’ll love.

Come back to Ruby River and follow the chaos as Delaney and Marc meet in the middle.

The familiarity of being back in Ruby River just puts an instant smile on your face. Knowing I already loved the characters in the first book I knew this was going to be superb. Marc and Delaney’s characters are obviously so different but yet so similar. Just in their each and own quirky ways. They’ve disliked each other since they were kids because they didn’t understand each other. But now as adults, sweet and plotting, chaotic Glamma and her besties have other intentions. Just as I suspected, her ideas are not the most practical but she knows exactly what she’s doing and how it’ll work out. You can’t fault her for it. When Glamma knows—you just accept it. I loved the way the story flowed throughout. Not only is there banter, chaos (especially with a goat-ironically named Chaos), overcoming grief, learning to accept help from others—but there was so much love, friendship, and care. You could feel the emotions throughout. It was beautiful. The relationship (and the spice) between Marc and Delaney wasn’t rushed and it’s not often you have that, and it worked. Their vulnerability with each other, their acceptance and support, the safety they both felt for each other was just—absolute perfection. And Marc, who knew behind those quiet mannerisms, data collecting thoughts was a pleasure dom. What’s that saying—man in the streets, freak in the sheets. 😉In the end, they both finally understood each other and didn’t push down their feelings. It was heartwarming and emotional and absolutely beautiful. This was a such sweet story and I loved every part of it. I can’t wait to see what the town of Ruby River and Glamma has in store for us next.

I received this as an ARC from the author and I’m grateful to have been able to read this prior to release.

Thank you Love Notes PR and author for the ARC

“10 Rings I Hate About You” is the sweetest romance I’ve read this month! It’s a really nice rom-com style romance with Delaney, a yoga instructor who inherits her aunt's crystal shop, and Marc, a high-functional autistic veterinarian. Delaney hates how Marc makes her feel, how he’s so smug about what she believes. Marc doesn’t really know how to talk to people, animals are way better! He’s not a bad person, he just cannot understand why Delaney believes in those things. Crystals, energy… that’s really not his thing. So when they decide to take on a project with yoga with animals, Delaney and Marc need to work together.

Their chemistry is really incredible! Both Delaney and Marc are really sweet. They don’t understand each other at the beginning, but they both hurt in a way. Delaney doesn’t comprehend Marc’s inability with people, and she misunderstands that as him being a bad person. Marc finds Delaney puzzling, but he accepts his feelings for her way sooner. He realises that these confusing feelings he has when she’s around, it’s because he really likes her. Although that makes no sense for him. Why would he like Delaney? They’re nothing alike!

Delaney is the person Marc needs. He needs someone who notices him, who accepts him, and loves him for who he is. While Marc worships every bit of Delaney. I didn’t find surprising that Marc was a pleasure Dom, he likes to be in control, and when he’s with Delaney, he can be that person. He keeps in control while she enjoys every single pleasure he gives her and can be as loud and carefree. Even though they are very different, once they work those differences and appreciate each other, their romance is really cute. Also, the goat, Chaos, is an amazing matchmaker, almost at Glamma level!

“10 Rings I Hate About You” is adorable, cute, and very fun! I’m hoping to read more from this series because this book got me totally hooked for more!

Title: 10 Rings I Hate About You: The Kingsleys of Ruby River (Book 2)
Author: Stephanie Harrell
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Pages: 450

Rating: 4⭐️/5

“She needs someone to stay. Long enough that she stops waiting for them to leave.”

According to Ruby River legend, whenever the water turns ruby red, it means two people are about to fall into a love that lasts forever. Delaney Mercer never expected to be stuck working with Marc Kingsley again-the maddeningly logical man she’s been butting heads with for twenty years, but when a chaotic animal yoga class becomes the key to saving the local shelter, they’re forced to team up. Between nonstop banter, late-night planning, and one troublemaking goat wreaking havoc, their longtime rivalry slowly turns into something neither of them saw coming.

Ruby River gives major Stars Hollow vibes in the best way possible! Chaotic meddling grandmas, nosy small-town energy, lovable side characters, and a completely unhinged goat named Chaos stealing every scene. Delaney and Marc are so fun together because they’re complete opposites: she’s into meditation, crystals, yoga, and trusting her intuition, while he’s an awkwardly logical veterinarian who relies on facts and routines for everything. Their banter and constant irritation with each other make every interaction entertaining, but underneath it all is a comforting romance about grief, healing, and finally finding the kind of love their hearts had been waiting for all along, even if it took them a while to get there.

A big thanks to Love Notes PR and Stephanie Harrell for providing me with a digital ARC of this book!

Releasing 05/17/2026 on Amazon, KU and paperback.

💜 small town chaos
🐐 unhinged animal side character
✨ emotionally soft but funny
🔥 slow burn tension + payoff
🩺 logical/neurospicy MMC energy
💐 plus size FMC finding herself
👵 meddling grandma squad = elite trope

If Gilmore Girls, chaotic small-town romcom energy, meddling grandmas, and one absolutely unhinged goat had a book baby… this would be it. 🐐💜

10 Rings I Hate About You is the kind of romance that balances laugh-out-loud chaos with genuine emotional heart. Delaney and Marc have that perfect “I’ve spent years pretending I hate you when really I just don’t know what to do with these feelings” kind of tension, and I am ALWAYS here for that.

Marc is the logical, structured veterinarian who likes facts, control, and predictability… which makes Delaney (with all her instinct, emotion, and beautifully chaotic energy) the exact kind of disruption he never saw coming. Watching those walls slowly come down? Delicious.

And Delaney? I loved that she’s a plus-size FMC navigating grief, self-worth, and figuring out where she belongs while still bringing warmth, humour, and heart to the story.

But honestly? The side characters nearly stole the entire show. Glamma and her matchmaking chaos squad are iconic, and Chaos the goat deserves celebrity status immediately.

The romance brings banter, tension, emotional softness, found family, and that deeply comforting small-town feeling that makes you want to move to Ruby River immediately.

A cosy, funny, heartfelt romcom with enough emotional depth to make the romance hit even harder 💜

I seriously want to be adopted by Glamma and become a Kingsley!!

I loved Marc, Delaney and Chaos!! I loved Marc and Delany when we first meet them in No Rongs Attached. You can see there was something there that neither party wanted to admit to.

I also loved that we had some neurodivergent representation with Marc being high functioning autistic. I loved how he had to calculate everything and how facts and numbers were his armor. He was fiercely protective of his family and the animal sanctuary and when that protection spilled over to Delaney, it was swoon worthy!

I also loved how much Marc paid attention to Delaney. Without admitting it, he knew things about her that no one took the time to notice about her. He understood what she needed before she voiced it and was the only one she could fall into her grief with. I loved the safety he provided to both Delaney and Chaos.

I also appreciated the way Delaney handled her grief. I came in waves and hit her at times that were not always convenient. I loved that it was represented correctly. Grief is not felt one way and it is not finite. You will miss that loved one in waves for the rest of your life. I loved how Delaney felt that her aunt Jem brought Marc to her and was still guiding her after leaving her physically.

I really loved the characters in this series. I really want to see Wyatt and Adele and Josh and Grace's stories played out. They were teased so much I cannot wait for them to get their own HEA!!

After reading No Rings Attached and seeing even the tiniest bit of the dynamic between Marc and Delaney, I had a feeling that this would probably be my favorite book out of the series so far. I was definitely right! With how much I loved the first one, this one knocked it out of the park.

The book touches on subjects that I feel are very important. Feeling like you're too much, the life of a neurotypical versus neurospicy, grief and how it affects everyone differently.

I appreciated seeing Delaney starting to understand what makes Marc react to certain things as he does and taking the time to explain things for him when he needs it, just as much as I appreciated the way he showed up and supported her during times where she doubted herself. The dynamic between Marc and Delaney works because they are different and yet they balance each other out.

Now onto my favorite part: The spice.

Omg. I spent half of this book going 'Marc!!!' from some of the things he had said during spicy scenes! I never really thought I would be into praise in a book, but from the first 'Good Girl' with Marc, that changed. I definitely see what Delaney sees! 🔥🤭

I will always love the Gilmore Girls/Golden Girls vibes with these books. The references are absolutely beautiful, no notes! (Also, Chaos is definitely an appropriate name for that goat 🤣)

I cant wait to see what comes next! Im so grateful that I got to read the ARC, thank you for the opportunity.

Small town that gossip (but a town that is also there for each other)......a goat that causes chaos......and an enemies to lovers story! What more do you need??

On a serious note, this book was fantastic! It gets you from the poem in the beginning. (Think 90s movie with a somewhat similar title). One of the best movies of my childhood, if you were to ask me. I love both Marc and Delaney in their own ways. Marc for his love of spreadsheets and data and his dislike for crowded spaces and noise. I love that he says what he thinks, in a way of stating facts, even if he doesnt always get the emotional side. And Delaney? Shes outgoing and spunky and fearlessly herself. But she tries to always be tough, doesnt need anyone else, and doesnt think she belongs. (Which I resonate with alot). You immediately want to find out the backstory of these two and why they dislike each other so much.

And then theres Glamma and her crew! They are who I want to be when I reach that age. And without giving too much away, the dinner scene at her house had me giggling and kicking my feet! I loved it. But I love Ruby River. I love that they care about each other and they support each other. And they always find away.

And lastly, those steamy scenes?! Who knew Marc would suddenly become so bossy but I loved it! And so did Delaney! I cant spoil it too much, youll just have to read it yourself. But its 100% worth the read.

10 Rings I Hate About You 🐐
Firstly,I want to thank LoveNotes PR & Stephanie Harrell for trusting me with this ARC!💚
Delaney is chaotic. Marc is a control freak & they both hate each other.
Until a goat forces them together
10 Rings I Hate About You,is easily one of the most beautiful, well written, easy to read rom-coms of the season.Personally,I binged read it in a sunny spring morning and oh my God,IT WAS A M A Z I N G.We follow Delaney a unique spiritual woman, that has always being told to be less,a characteristic that she is working so hard to put off herself, while starting fresh. Her new life will be interrupted by Marc, who is about to get her world upside down.

Their romance had me giggling, laughing and I can surely say that I enjoyed it 100%.All their moments, little or big were so cute. And the specific aspect that I loved was that the 🌶️ scenes came exactly when we needed to boost the emotional connection, making them inseparable by the end of the book.If you ask me,I absolutely adored the way Delaney viewed the world, her reactions and her overall bubbly character. As a person who feels a lot,she was more like a warm hug and a huge "I see you" than just an another female character.
Wrapping this up,if you want the best Spring/Summer romance, with the most incredible fmc and a goat messing things around 10 Rings I Hate About You is an immediate add to your TBR!

This is the perfect book to read when you want to get lost in a story that doesn't require much thinking. It's mental health positive and gave me an endorphin boost. Total Beach read!!!! Think Gilmore Girls-the town meetings!

Marc is Drew's brother. If you read book #1 you met him in passing. If you loved book #1 and now want to live in Ruby River (like me)-add to list. Anything with Glamma & Co....count me in.

The thing I like about this author is her underlying themes (mental health, body positivity, grief etc) don't overshadow her characters. I feel like it's a good balance between snark, hallmark cheese (in a good way!) and tough issues. I personally am picky about plus size fmc's and the way this author presents a full picture has me happy. As a fluffy marshmallow myself, it's nice to see representation that isn't so...in your face.

And theres a goat. Who doesn't love a good animal sidekick???

Last of all-as a mother to two ND children, the accurate representation of how Marc sees the world made my momma heart sing. If I didn't already love Glamma, her complete understanding and acceptance of what makes Marc...Marc.....I may or may not have teared up. Snaps to our girl Steph for making that so realistic.

I appreciate Stephanie for providing a copy of the book in exchange for my thoughts!

Glamma. GLAMMA. Someone tell me how one woman knows absolutely everything, gets it right every single time, and somehow makes meddling feel like a love language... because I am taking notes. I adore her and the squad with my whole entire heart.

Now, enemies to lovers is already a firm favourite trope of mine, but Marc? Marc, sir. I was not prepared. It's always the quiet ones, isn't it? Always. I was shooketh in the best possible way, because what unfolded between him and Delaney was genuinely lovely... childhood enemies who, thanks to one game with Glamma, slowly realised they'd known each other all along. The line between hate and love didn't just blur - it evaporated entirely.

The banter, the slow unravelling of who they actually are beneath the surface, the romance, the spice... I loved all of it. And the way this book quietly wraps itself around themes of self-identity and found family? Gorgeous.

And then there's Chaos. The goat. Aptly named, truly inspired, and honestly? Every small town needs exactly one chaotic goat causing havoc and accidentally bringing people together. He is a gift and I will not hear otherwise.

The one rule this book enforces above all else: never, under any circumstances, say no to Glamma.

Thank you to Stephanie Harrell for providing this ARC of 10 Rings I Hate About You in exchange for my honest review.

We’ve returned to Ruby River and Chaos literally is everywhere. No seriously, Glamma and her squad are back to their antics, and a tiny goat is running rampant.

Thank you so much to Stephanie and the team for giving me the opportunity to be an ARC reader!

The Pros:
This was a sweet story. Very cozy.
I always love seeing body diversity represented, especially when the character is athletic.
We also see some pretty awesome neurodiversity representation too.
And I liked the way the FMC’s grief was expressed. It really struck a personal chord with me.

The Cons:
I felt like the start was a bit slow going. But then the relationship seemed to go from 0 to 100 in pretty much the blink of an eye, which given 20 years of animosity felt a bit rushed.
I wish there was more on the outside friendships. With Ellie, Cheryl, Adele, Grace, Delaney, Nora and Alice we have the makings of an incredible girl-friend group. The guys equally have the basis for some solid friends, we see it touched on briefly with Marc and Josh, as well as Marc and Theo, but these interactions feel like tasters rather than the full banquet.

This book is for you if:
- You want an easy read
- You enjoy animal and old people antics
- You read No Rings Attached and loved it

This book was so fun and had a unique storyline: Delaney takes over her late aunt's holistic space in the small town she would visit every summer. Marc is the veterinarian that gets under her skin with his need to be right and his undermining tendencies. Enter a meddling Glamma, animal yoga, small town chaos, and forced team work, the hate turns to love quicker than either of them expected.

My take:
This book had me chuckling right from the beginning with a mischievous goat running through town and causing chaos. Animal side characters are always fun, but Chaos stole the show and I loved it.

I want to spend an afternoon with Glamma. I feel like I'd learn so much and laugh my butt off doing so.

Marc... He comes off as shy and calculated, but behind closed doors he is dominant and smooth talking. We love a consent king. He takes pleasure in her pleasure, watching to learn what she likes. 🥵

The best part was the way these two "see" each other and are able to be the support needed when they are mentally overloaded.

My ownly criticism is the autism representation. I feel like half way through the story, the behaviors were no longer as much of a focus.

Thank you Stephanie Harrell for the gifted eARC. All opinions are my own.

Thanks to the author and Love Notes PR for the arc <3!!!!!

This book felt like pure small-town chaos in the BEST possible way 🐐✨ Imagine a cozy romcom packed with messy feelings, nonstop banter, eccentric townspeople, and one scene-stealing goat—and somehow it all works perfectly together.

Delaney and Marc had such a fun dynamic. He’s reserved, practical, and loves having everything under control, while Delaney brings this emotional, unpredictable energy that completely throws him off balance. Their tension felt so natural, especially with all the history between them, and watching them slowly lower their defenses was honestly one of my favorite parts.

I also really appreciated Delaney’s character. Beneath all the humor and chaos, she’s dealing with grief and insecurities in a very real way, which gave the story a lot more emotional depth than I expected. And the side characters? Absolutely hilarious. The grandmothers were constantly meddling, the town felt so alive, and Chaos the goat deserves his own fan club immediately 😭

Overall, this was warm, funny, romantic, and surprisingly emotional, a perfect comfort read if you love quirky small towns and romances full of heart 💜

10/10 Bring on Chaos

📚Release day review! 📚

I was lucky enough to score an ARC of this book! 10/10 I would recommend reading this book! I’m going to be ordering the paperback version because digital was not enough for me. Two people how have mis understood each other for most of their life’s finally figure out that they have been misjudging the other one. All it took was one meddling Glamma to get the ball rolling and a very opinionated 🐐! The Tiny Chaos did it for me I loved that this baby goat named chaos rightfully so kept everyone on their toes. Not only did the main characters have so much personality that you felt like you were there with them in their friends group and family but everyone else stood out as well. I felt like I was in this town and going through all the ups, downs and plain chaos of trying to help get the shelter a grant. One of my favorite parts or scene in the book is a text message from Mark about what to do if the goat gets out! This book was such a fun read I will be rereading it and the rest of the series!

“In the pantry is a shelf of snacks for him. If he doesn’t listen, put on cartoons for him in the guest bedroom downstairs. He seems to enjoy them.”
