In the mist-shrouded town of Belfry, legends cling as tightly to the stones as the ever-present fog. Locals whisper about the Lockwood Asylum—a crumbling ruin on the edge of town, shuttered for decades but never truly silent.
In 1974, when a group of teenagers use it for a party, they expect cheap ghost stories, music echoing through the empty halls, and maybe a scare or two. What they find instead is something older than the asylum, older than Belfry itself. Something that has been waiting in the dark, feeding on fear, bound only by the walls they’ve now disturbed.
As the town begins to unravel, the teenagers must uncover Belfry’s buried past to survive. Because once the monster is free, it isn’t just after them.
It’s hungry for the whole town.
The Belfry Haunting is a chilling tale of folklore, friendship, and the horrors that wait when history refuses to stay buried.
I usually read fantasy and decided to try another genre. In the beginning I found it hard to change my mindset about what to expect as Im used to a more in depth relationship between the characters (which probably isnt as important in horror books as in romantasy books).
For me the book did what I was expected of it - gave me a good scare. I got nightmares and wasnt able to finish the last 20 percent of the book.
