A fun and light read! It's kinda nice to know there are still 'cute anime boys going on adventures together' types of manga and I really enjoyed Vacation Recommendation.
Lizel, our titular gentle noble, has been mysteriously transported from one fantasy world to another. Rather than panic over the situation, he's taking everything in his stride and hires Gil, a B rank adventurer, to guide and protect him through this new land.
There's a mystery element over how Lizel managed to get to this new word and how the king is going to try and get him back but it's largely just chill where sometimes they'll fight a dragon in a dungeon and get loot, sometimes they'll help out a travelling group of actors. It's a video game-y grab bag of tropes that people will be familiar with so it has a very cozy vibe and is relaxing to read.
I think this one really fit with what I was wanting to read so I liked it and enjoyed what I got as I didn't really expect anything more of less. I would recommend it but I don't think it's one for those of you who are wanting something high octane or a complex fantasy to sink your teeth into.
In a way, I think a more interesting story is buried in here somewhere. At the moment, Lizel and Gil's worlds feel too similar. If there was a bigger difference (like what if a character from a low fantasy, fluffy world gets dropped into a dark / high fantasy world or vice versa) that might have been more interesting? I was wondering if this might be the case when Lizel produced his magic gun. I initially thought he might be from a more steampunk type world where they may rely more on technology but, at this point in time, I’m not sure and honestly don’t think it’s the case! It was a good read though and I'm looking forward to the next omnibus!
