Sometimes your friends' kids write books. And sometimes you read them. And sometimes they're pretty catchy little stories. This was not exactly my genre (I filed it under mystery/thriller, but it's really horror...on the lighter end), and not very polished, but it has a decent hook at the core. A good editor could bully this into a better book if the author were up to it.
