Yikes! All these characters had drama. Crazy, insane, diabolical kinda drama. My favorite person in this story was Aunt Camilla. She did not come to play and was not afraid to speak her mind. And I’m sure we will all agree that Nolan is the least favorite. His level of cruelness was awful. Another hit by Linette!
“Know that what happened to you isn’t your fault.”

Linette King does not miss! If I wasn’t already engaged and floored from start to finish the connection between stories gagged and hooked me.
The title alone had me curious to find out exactly how something egregious like falling in love with your killer could even happen. But, Linette King easily gave us a strong concept with a strong execution.
While some moments were satisfyingly predictable, there were unpredictable moments that you will not see coming!
I recommend reading “Ward No. 13” after for premium enjoyment.
I Fell in Love w/ My Killer by Linette King is a dark, emotionally charged psychological thriller that pulls no punches. From the first page, the story moves at a relentless pace, drawing readers into a twisted web of secrets, trauma, and shocking revelations that are impossible to ignore.
At the heart of the novel are Tatiana, Elaine, and Destiny—best friends bound not only by loyalty, but by dark secrets they’ve worked hard to keep buried. As their pasts begin to unravel, the story dives deep into the unsettling psychology of hybristophilia, exploring how love, fear, and trauma can become dangerously entangled. King handles this disturbing theme with intensity, creating a narrative that is both uncomfortable and compulsively readable.
The tone is raw and high-stakes, with unexpected plot twists that hit hard and keep the reader guessing until the very end. This is not a light read—it’s emotional, shocking, and often heartbreaking—but the payoff is a powerful conclusion that feels necessary and earned. Readers who enjoy psychological thrillers with dark romance elements will find themselves fully immersed in this “hard knock life” story.
Overall, I Fell in Love w/ My Killer is a mind-blowing, fast-paced thriller that lingers long after the final page. Highly recommended for readers who crave dramatic tension, complex characters, and stories that aren’t afraid to explore the darkest corners of the human mind.
There's a lot to unpack in this story, but still it's a good one!!! Tati, the primary character, finds that she has been betrayed constantly and consistently by everyone she holds dear. It was only after she learned for herself through those trials of pain that she was destined to be her own hero. Although I hate how and why Robin mistreated her so badly, it made sense as it was the foundation of why she fell so hard for Nolan. Destiny was a hot mess that got off entirely too lightly. Good read.
Okay … honestly… in the beginning I kind of had an idea of what the book was going to give .. I definitely can see Tubi turning this into a movie 😂 Destiny killing that lady over a man was never that serious .. honestly we could’ve gotten a little more info on Nolan .. like what made him do that to the parents ? ( cause she wasn’t even close to them ) I thought he did engineering.. what connections did he have to have pull like that? How did he know about Elaine? Those questions is while my rating is ⭐️⭐️⭐️ but overall I did enjoy it
I don’t even know where to start. I usually don’t read thrillers but I was on the edge of my seat for most of this book. It was all a crazy turn of events. Like Tatis friends didn’t really love her the way they said they did. Literally everyone in her life shit on her in some degree way before the incident with her sister. So many unexpected turns but I did call it out something wasn’t right about Noland. My first Lanette King book and I’m not disappointed.
This book touched DV to the fullest extent! If you’ve ever been in a DV relationship it may be a little hard for you to read. That damn Nolan was truly a piece a work the things a narcissist man will do to get what he wants is unimaginable.
Tati story was truly heartbreaking, everything she went through was just so tough to read. I’m glad she had a friend like Elaine because Destiny was truly a piece of S#!T

This whirlwind of story 🤯 I couldn’t keep up! The way these people started overlapping got me dizzy! Then just when I thought I knew something, I found out something different. Then something else comes out! Geez Linette! All in all, the one then suffered the most was Tatiana! Take this ride, cause it’s sholll a ride!
This is my 3rd read by this author and I enjoyed it. There isn’t a lot of build up like her other books I’ve read. I fell in love w/ my killer slaps you right in the face with the drama from the first few pages, and keeps you there the entire ride. I read this with my book club and it definitely gave us several hot talking points.
This one had my nerves bad trying to finish it. So much to unpack. Family secrets, deceit, trauma, abuse etc. Tatiana went through hell and back. The ending was so unexpected, but powerful and necessary. So many women fall in love with their killers. A lot of triggers in this book but a great read, nonetheless.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This story was so good and absolutely wild! My emotions are all over the place after reading this story. I will say I am impatiently waiting to read Ward No. 13!
Whoaaa!!! I can’t believe Ms.King was able to fit all of this into this short story. It kept my interest from beginning to end. Talk about a hard knock life. It seem like poor Tatiana just couldn’t catch a break. Great read, and a bit of a tear jerker
I was so shocked at how everything went down. You'll definitely find some life lessons in this, it's some REAL-LIFE stuff going on. The plot twist was INSANE! I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED this read. Mind BLOWING🙃
Tati’s life was such a walking nightmare. Her situation kept going from worst to hell. This is a great read . And as a survivor 💜 I can relate. The ending took my breath away.
This book is too much in a bad and good way. Everyone has their problems and the twists in the book are so many but it keeps you wanting more. Very good book to read.
Good thriller and suspense read! The details were everything and made it so easy to picture everything. I’m so happy Tati made it out, and Destiny got what her looney ass deserved lol
Wow Linette ! I can’t believe all the situations that go awry in this story. Once you get over one then there is another. Too much for one person to comprehend. Again Wow!
