With no other option, Tamara became a stripper to afford the fight for her son. When her brother’s best friend walked in, everything changed.
Eddie’s life was already complicated. Keeping his Irish enemies at bay and running the gentlemen’s club left no room for distractions... or attraction.
When passion ignites amidst chaos, they try to resist each other. Mixing business with pleasure is a disaster waiting to happen, but if they keep it secret,no one will get hurt.
As bodies pile up, and the truth unravels, will Tamara stay by Eddie’s side? Can he shield her from danger, or will he watch it all burn to the ground?
Victoria Jaynes delivers a brother’s best friend, single mother, touch her and die, steamy dark mafia romance with Prince of Clubs, book two of the Dixie Mafia series. If you’re a fan of J.T. Geissinger, Kia Carrington-Russel, and L.J. Shen, you need to dive into this series.
Prince of Clubs contains scenes written for mature audiences only and ends on a cliffhanger.
Victoria Jayne is the epitome of a Jersey Girl. She doesn’t [know how to] pump her own gas, enjoys pork roll, and grew up on the Jersey Shore.
She’s lived throughout the state of New Jersey and remains there with her sports journalist husband and two darling daughters.
When not writing, Victoria enjoys baking with her daughters, rooting for the New Jersey Devils, thinking of home improvement projects, and staying up far too late chatting on Discord.
The love of a mother holds no bounds. Tamara would do whatever she had to for her son Zach. Seeing Eddie, her brother's best friend, threw a wrench in her plans. If you like Mafia, spice and some family drama.. pickup this book.
From reading the previous books, Eddie was the character I was most interested in seeing. He always seemed so no-nonsense and level-headed. Apparently, that all goes out the window when he reconnects with his best friend’s little sister.
When Eddie and Tamara see each other for the first time in years, there is an instant connection. Eddie is not used to having actual feelings for anyone other than his family, and that can even be a stretch at times since they often do things he doesn’t agree with or understand. It was amusing to watch him fall so hard and fast for Tamara…and not understand what was happening. Poor sap. For her part, Tamara had always had a thing for Eddie, so seeing him again just rekindled her childhood crush. But she’s a single mom now. A single mom struggling to pay the bills, fighting a custody and child support battle, and with no extra time in sight to pursue any sort of love match. Not that Eddie or Tamara are looking for love.
In the beginning, I was afraid the story was going to look down on erotic dancers. Tamara didn’t like that she was dancing as one of her jobs, and the manager of the club where she worked was a sleazebag with a drug problem. That’s not the case, though. This story shows different elements of the industry. There are women in the story who love what they do, and others who are just trying to make ends meet. Eddie, when he comes in to take over the club, makes it clear that the dancers and other women who work for him are to be respected and have free agency when it comes to what they are and are not willing to do when they are on shift.
Tamara and Eddie are hot together. No matter how much they know it’s a bad idea to get together, they cannot seem to resist when they are anywhere near one another. But even after Eddie goes all-in, Tamara still has a huge wall up. She is not used to having help. She doesn’t ask for it and rarely accepts it. Eddie is used to taking care of things and just wants to make Tamara’s life easier. There are some compromises made, and Tamara does finally see the light on some of the relief Eddie is offering, yet she still holds back on taking it all.
I was really enjoying this story. I loved the chemistry between Tamara and Eddie, and the story flowed smoothly. As much as I was often annoyed by the decisions the characters made, I still understood their positions. With the heavy lifting of world-building having already been done in the first book of the series, Queen of Blades, this story is allowed to really revel in the love story of Eddie and Tamara. There is still a lot going on within the Dixie Mafia world. Things are not all roses and kittens there, and that becomes very clear by the end of this book. Which is where things took a turn for me.
To be clear, I still greatly enjoyed this story. I just do not like being blindsided by a cliffhanger. So I’m warning you, if you’re the same, there is a cliffhanger in this book. Tamara and Eddie get their HFN in many ways, but there is a lot of trouble brewing in the underground world they live in. This book ends with a shock. I wish I had known. It was disappointing and, honestly, changed my rating of the overall story.

PRINCE OF CLUBS is the second instalment in Victoria Jayne’s contemporary, adult DIXIE MAFIA erotic, Mafia romance series. This is heir to the Dixie Mafia Eddie Ricci, and twenty-two year old exotic dancer and single mother Tamara Lewis’ story line. PRINCE OF CLUBS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from omniscient dual third person perspectives (Eddie and Tamara) PRINCE OF CLUBS follows Dixie Mafia heir Edward ‘Eddie’ Ricci as he begins the acquisition of several strip clubs including the Petrol Gentlemen’s Club, where he will come face to face with his best friend’s sister Tamara Lewis. Tamara is a single mother, struggling to make ends meet but Eddie was unaware of Tamara’s desperation having no idea about the child she bore with someone else. Taking control of Tamara’s finances and her life, Eddie sets into motion a sense of recovery but the former strip club owner was in deep with the criminal underworld, and Eddie is about to pay the price for someone else’s sins.
The world building follows several paths including the tenuous relationship between Tamara and her brother Jay; the take over and struggles of the ‘gentlemen’s club; and the embattled family dynamics of the Ricci Crime Family.
The relationship between Eddie and Tamara is a brother’s best friend forbidden affair that wherein Eddie quickly takes control to protect and secure our story line heroine. Tamara’s past returns demanding everything and more, and Eddie is determined to safeguard the woman with whom he is falling in love. The $ex scense are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
The secondary and supporting characters are somewhat questionable and twisted. We are introduced to Tamara’s brother and veteran Jay;Tamara’s friends and co-workers Lacey and Amber-Lynn, and Eddie’s brother Paul and his wife Harper; their father Josephe, and their uncle Michael, and Tamara’s former boss Trevor Fenton. The requisite evil has many faces including the local MC, Russian Bratva and Irish Mob.
PRINCE OF CLUBS is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, family and relationships, forgiveness and love. The character driven premise is dark, dramatic and gritty; the romance is seductive; the characters are desperate, determined and charismatic. PRINCE OF CLUBS ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.
Victoria Jayne’s Prince of Clubs, the second installment in her gritty Dixie Mafia series, dives headfirst into the shadowy underbelly of Southern organized crime with a pulse pounding blend of forbidden romance, high stakes danger, and raw emotional depth.
If you’re craving a dark mafia tale that doesn’t pull punches, think sizzling tension between a desperate single mom and a brooding club owner amid a hail of bullets and betrayals, this book delivers in spades.
Following the explosive setup of Queen of Blades (Book 1), the author expands her world of Southern mobsters, Irish rivals, and moral gray areas, crafting a story that’s as addictive as it is perilous.
Tamara is a fiercely protective single mother who’s hit rock bottom. With her young son depending on her, she’s forced into the neon lit world of stripping at a gentlemen’s club just to scrape together the funds for a custody battle.
Enter Eddie, her brother’s best friend and the club’s no nonsense owner, a man already stretched thin juggling Dixie Mafia operations, Irish gang skirmishes, and the constant threat of exposure.
When Eddie walks into the club and locks eyes with Tamara, the sparks aren’t just immediate, they’re incendiary. But in this line of work, mixing business with pleasure isn’t just risky, it’s a potential death sentence.
Tamara’s vulnerability as a mom fighting for her child had me wanting her to succeed, but she’s more than a damsel in distress…she’s a survivor with bite. Eddie, meanwhile, is the dark hero…tattooed, tormented, and loyal to a fault, yet haunted by the bodies he’s buried (literally) to protect his empire.
Rival hits, betrayals, and moral dilemmas escalate the tension, pulling you into a world where loyalty is currency and secrets are shrapnel. The Dixie Mafia setting, steeped in Southern grit, bourbon soaked bars, and humid bayou backdrops, feels fresh compared to the usual New York or Chicago mob tales.
It’s not just about the forbidden heat between Tamara and Eddie, it’s a taut exploration of love’s fragility in a world built on lies and lead.
If you devoured Queen of Blades (like I did) then grab this one ASAP.
The cliffhanger ending? Pure torture, but the kind that has you searching Amazon for the pre-order of Book 3 at 2 a.m!!
The brother's best friend trope is done so well in this book, i was swooning, gigling and kicking my feet the entire time. The attraction between Eddie and Tamara is SCORCHING!❤️🔥
Reading this was very interesting especially when i learnt that Tamara is a single mom, trying to make ends meet while still chasing her dreams. And then there's Eddie our macho boy like the man he's ready to be her knight in shining armor. To say I’m so into him is an understatement🫠.
I love everything about Eddie, the way he carries himself, how he respects everyone untill they cross a line, and above all, how he's willing to put his feelings and desires aside so that he can listen, understand, and support Tamara without making her feel uncomfortable. That was beautiful.
All I know is never inconvenience Eddie or mess with his Tamara, because he doesn't second-guess using his g*n. He's unhinged and it looks good on him.
Everything was going on so well and i thought the plot was wrapping up nicely, until BOOM, it all went down. Just thinking about the possible outcome has left me hurt and not ok😭.
I swear the last-minute turn of events in Victoria's books will be the end of me.The Suspense is killing me...
🎀Fav Quotes: ✨️“I want her” ✨️If killing two men in her honor wasn’t enough, he’d taken several punches from her brother. As far as he was concerned, he and Tamara were practically married. ✨️“If you’re worried about Zach and me being in danger, I don’t believe Eddie would put us in harm’s way, and if we were to, somehow, find ourselves in a jam, he’ll get us out of it.”

THE WHAT We get Eddie’s story in this book. One night, while handling business for the Dixie Mafia, Eddie crosses paths with Tamara at a club. What starts as a casual hookup quickly becomes more complicated when he realizes she works at one of the adult entertainment clubs he has recently taken over. Eddie becomes infatuated with her and it becomes clear he will either be her savior or her downfall.
THE VIBE Mafia romance, Dark romance, Brother’s best friend, Fast burn, Parental rights and CPS themes, Family death, murder, drug use, strip clubs, prostitution
THE HOW The story is told through a dual POV structure from both the FMCs and MMCs perspectives. The pacing moves quickly and is in line with Jayne’s writing style.
THE HIT I really enjoyed getting to know Eddie, especially since he was such a mysterious presence in the previous book. Watching Tamara grow into her confidence over the course of the story was equally satisfying. The ending was shocking and left me immediately wanting to know what happens next.
THE MISS Similar to the previous book, a few word choices gave me the ick. This is purely personal preference, but Eddie being blonde also wasn’t my vibe. I also felt that some parts of the story were a bit rushed.
THE REC: I recommend this read to those readers who enjoy mafia romances with emotional stakes and morally gray characters.
THE OVERALL: Overall, I would rate this book as follows:
This series is for sure my favorite Victoria Jayne series that I’ve read. The action, the drama, the romance, the overall insanity that occurs in the plot: it’s so addicting. I’m obsessed. I also love that we got to start this series with a novella that introduced us to the world and characters, especially because since reading that novella, I have a special connection to this series and world that I would’ve missed out on otherwise.
This story in particular has the messiest character dynamics ever and it makes me love it all the more. They shouldn’t be together, especially because of course he’s her brother’s best friend, but also because they come from two entirely different worlds. And now, her secret rests in his hands. And on top of that, they have this secret, forbidden romance vibed relationship that they don’t want anyone, especially her brother to know about.
But when the mafia is involved, secrets never really stay secrets do they. And how else could that possibly end than with some death, some chaos, some torn alliances, and of course, some heartbreak (but maybe not the way you think).
I can’t wait to see what crazy comes out of this world next. It’s so addicting.
Thank you so much to Victoria Jayne for an arc of this book!
Eddie & Tamara gave me all the workplace trope vibes, and I was rooting for them from the start. Eddie is all about good times mixed with Dixie Mafia business. If you’ve read book one, this is Paul’s brother. (don’t worry, can still read as a standalone but has better flow if you grab book 1) He’s charming, confident, and knows exactly how to step up when it counts. Tamara is a single mom superhero doing whatever it takes to keep her life running. Between working at the club Eddie now runs, juggling another job, and going to school, she is pure determination. I loved her strength and her constant push to stay in control of her life, even when things get messy. One night out meant to unwind turns into that kind of night with Eddie. From there, Eddie slides into protector mode, fully committed to taking care of Tamara and her child. That said, Tamara isn’t blind to Eddie’s lifestyle, and her discomfort with his world adds tension to their relationship. Victoria, that cliffhanger hit HARD. Painfully hard. Now I'm stuck in the waiting game. If you love romance with strong single mom energy, protective MMCs, workplace tension, and spice mixed with heart, this has it all.
While that ending has me shooting a major side eye at the author, I will say that it definitely has me wondering and needing to know how things will work out for Tamara and Eddie…. So, yes, I enjoyed the beginning of Tamara and Eddie’s journey. Tamara’s life has gone sideways, but she is willing to do what needs to be done to give her son a good life, even if it means taking on a second job that wasn’t on her life bingo card. Eddie is in the Mob but he has a healthy respect for his place in it and those who are running it. While they have a connection to each other through Tamara’s brother, Jay, they don’t know each other as adults and I enjoyed watching as they both had to really work at truly seeing who the other was in the here and now and not who they’ve always thought each other to be. But the chemistry between them is HAWT and despite outside factors working against them, they find that they can’t stop thinking about each other and decide to make a go of it. If it wasn’t obvious from the start of this review, there is a lovely cliffhanger and now for me to practice patience for the next book to come out to see how everything plays out for Tamara and Eddie.

Woah. I had to gather my thoughts, dab my eyes, and give my heart a little pat. But I digress and must rewind a bit. Victoria Jayne brings together a mafia story that has a bit of everything. The beginning was very layered, gradually building up and making me feel more invested as each chapter went on. I liked how Prince of Clubs wasn’t one of those glamorous mafia stories. Tamara, a single mother, is struggling to support herself and her child. She’s also in the midst of a custody battle. Her life is hard, and she has to take a job as a stripper. That’s when her brother’s best friend, Eddie, and she cross paths. The one she’s always had a crush on.
I liked Eddie and the things he did for Tamara. But I also like how many mafia themes were incorporated into the story. There’s suspense woven into the story, which, in turn, makes Eddie into the overprotective MMC type of character I love.
Tamara’s portrayal of a single mom was realistic at times. Something many moms can resonate with, and I appreciated that.
I would have to say there is a major cliffhanger in Prince of Clubs that I was not prepared for. And I’m racking my brain on how Author Victoria Jayne will play this one out. Only time and my patience will tell.
Thank you to Author Victoria Jayne for the gifted e-copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
OMG I DE-VOURED THIS BOOK!!!! Like holy shit, I didn’t want to put it down. Eddie and Tamara had me in a chokehold, and I am feral after that ending! Like OMG, I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!!! PLEASE 🥺!!
I really like Eddie a whole lot and love how Tamara completely threw him off his game. I honestly love the whole brother’s best friend bit here, and it’s also not your normal one as he did grow up with them, yes, but after having not seen her in a while, I love how he sees her with different eyes. And damn, I love Tamara’s strength and tenacity. I love that she does what she has to do and works so hard. Life has thrown so much shit her way, and she is able to stubbornly punch her way through it.
SO….I don’t know if this is going to be a controversial opinion or not, but I really did not like her best friend. I don’t think she had Tamara’s best interests at heart, and I honestly do not think she actually SEES Tamara. Also, her brother was a bit of a dick, but he made up for it a little bit…..for now 😉!
If you like Mafia Romances, this is seriously a book you need to read! Thank you Victoria for this, and I am hoping you fix my heart in the next book!! 🫶
🖤🔥 Review: Dixie Mafia Book 2 by Victoria Jayne 🔥🖤
Book two of the Dixie Mafia series pulls you straight back into chaos, danger, and forbidden attraction. Tamara is doing whatever it takes to survive and fight for her son, even when that means making impossible choices. When her brother’s best friend walks into the club, everything shifts and suddenly, lines that should never be crossed start to blur.
Eddie is already balancing enemies, loyalty, and running a gentlemen’s club, leaving no room for distractions… especially not one he can’t stop thinking about. The tension between Tamara and Eddie is undeniable as well as messy, risky, and charged with secrets that could destroy everything if exposed. As bodies pile up and truths unravel, the stakes climb fast, and the danger feels very real.
This book is packed with action, emotional tension, and a romance that keeps you on edge. Victoria Jayne delivers another gritty, fast-paced installment that proves love doesn’t survive quietly in this world; it fights, bleeds, and risks it all.
if you're looking for a good ol' Mafia romance, this is it. Holy cow. I loved it.
Childhood crush, to a birthday fling, to possessiveness. Absolutely delicious.
Eddie is very much a morally black character. As in, he is only nice for a small handful of people, but will do anything he can for them to be happy and not feel bad about those steps. It was so entertaining reading his POVs because it was very "yeah, I did that thing....so what?".
Upstanding citizen? no. Upstanding book boyfriend? yes.
I also enjoyed Tamara. She was meant to be strong, but life kept knocking her down and she had to let go of that part of herself....until Eddie came along.
Such a whirlwind of a book. I HAVE to know what happens next (did I scream at the last line? maybe).
This second book in the Dixie Mafia series took me a bit to get into, much like the first, and while I did enjoy it, I felt less engaged and committed to the read than the previous book or novella. This time we follow another brother of the Mafia MC from the last book, and his romance with a single Mum/stripper who just happens to be his best friend’s sister. With some of the gore and horror I associated with the last book, and expected with the mafia theme, but a calmer feel … right up until the epilogue! Left on a cliffhanger ensuring you will come back for the next book, and I will, because while not a fantastic book for me, it was a genuinely good read and now I need to know what happens.
Ma’am, what was that ending!! I love this series, we are following Eddie, the other brother from the Dixie Mafia and Tamara, his best friend's little sister. Two of my favourite tropes. After a night that leaves Tamara to be a single mom, she does everything she can to keep a roof over their head, that is until Eddie buys the club she dances at and has other plans. She has always had a thing for him as a teenager, but knows it “shouldn’t” happen. I enjoyed Tamara's strength, standing up for what she knows she deserves and she also knows when to be soft as well. Eddie is great, he’s gentle just for her and very protective of her and her son. They worked great together. I need to see what’s next, that ending was heartbreaking.
Victoria Jayne has done it again. A mesmerizing book full of twists and turns when you least expect it. Eddie and Tamara bring a new meaning to work place second chance mafia romance. From their first encounter to the end of the book things get hot and heavy and keeps you on your toes. The story ends with you wanting more. I love how she ties her characters together and makes the story work as both a sequel and a stand alone.
This book will keep you on your toes wondering how it's all going to work out. Tamara is a strong women making the best of what she has been given. When Eddie enters her life, things become complicated. There are some real twists and it seems he will do anything to protect her and her family. Victoria Jayne has done a wonderful job with this book and I can't wait to see what happens in the next one.
I absolutely loved this book! I just couldn’t put it down because I needed to know what happened next to the characters. I loved the tension between the two characters and their eventual relationship. I also loved their personalities and how they mixed together as a couple. Can’t wait for the next Dixie Mafia book!
ARC review Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 This was insane! I enjoyed every part of it! The characters made this book so good. There was so much drama and it was so entertaining lol.
Another absolutely amazing book with plenty of tension and romance. I just absolutely love Victoria Jayne’s writing and as always this one did not disappoint.
This was a great addition to the Dixie Mafia series!!
I absolutely loved Tamara with my whole heart. She was a single mom trying to make ends meet to provide the best life possible for her 2-year-old son, including going to school and working multiple jobs (one of which was stripping). I loved how she was so relatable as a tired mom who persisted and knew she had to rely on herself to make ends meet. I did love her relationship with her brother Jay, who was acting as a de facto father to her son and was always there for her. While he had opinions I didn’t always agree with, he was there living with them and raising her son as though he were his own, which definitely counts for a lot.
And Eddie. I loved how in control Eddie was, how planned and precise he was…until he wasn’t 😉 I loved watching him fall ass over tea kettle for Tamara to the point of making rash decisions and getting into more sticky spots than he was used to. I loved his shaky morals in terms of what spicy things were ok to do with your best friend’s sister and what things crossed the line 🤣
Finally… MA'AM!!! That ending has me feeling things!!! I NEED ANSWERS!!!
Thank you to Victoria Jayne for the opportunity to read this book. The thoughts and opinions expressed above are honest and my own.
My first read of 2026. Heads up, this ends on a cliffhanger :(
This was an easy, quick read. The MCs Tamara and Eddie's chemistry is steamy and keeps you turning the page. Tamara is independent, knows her mind and will do anything for her son. Eddie was definitely giving morally gray vibes, and very real touch her and d1e energy. I mean, it's a mafia romance, so that is expected right? I enj0oyed this read, but their love story was only just beginning when the book ended. Now I need the follow up book to get the conclusion to this story.
I received an ARC of this book from the author and this is a voluntary review.
Prince of Clubs is the second book in the Dixie Mafia series. It follows Tamara and Eddie & honestly, I have been waiting for Eddie's story since he was introduced earlier in the series. I yearned for Eddie to find his match.
Eddie is Tamara's brother's best friend.. we know where this is going right? I know I do. I love a brother's best friend's romance novel. Tamara is struggling to keep her son and it's all because the baby daddy now wants him.. Well, Tamara is NOT having it.. and neither is Eddie.
Eddie steps in and helps Tamara throughout this book and I loved every moment of their interactions. The simple to the complex.
Thank you to the author for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
Tamara doesn’t want to be out celebrating, but it provides an opportunity to meet Eddie again. Eddie was her brother’s best friend growing up and her first crush. Tamara wasn’t expecting to run into him again the next night at the club she works at, where Eddie is the new owner. The more Eddie learns about Tamara, the more he wants to help her. But Tamara wants to earn her way, not get handouts, and that’s what Eddie’s offering. So what happens when Tamara learns Eddie’s a part of the Dixie Mafia?
Tamara and Eddie agree to try a relationship at the end of this book. The book is a standalone, but leaves off on a cliffhanger.
I loved how strong Tamara is for how much life has thrown at her, and I can see why she doesn’t just want handouts. If Eddie knew them growing up, one would think he would know that too. I do wonder if Eddie will ever come clean as to what he’s done for Tamara to keep her safe, or if he wants to keep her safe from his world and not tell her. Or if Eddie will tell his family about Tamara and what they will think of her, as I don’t think his brother approves of her without knowing her.
I received an advanced review copy from the author, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
