Meetings with the Minotaur

Rate this book
Big horns. Big secrets. Even bigger… chemistry.
Jamie

My five-year plan did not include impersonating a high-level executive to impress the big boss, but here we are. One day I’m slinging mail, the next I’m in a meeting trying not to drool over the CEO’s thighs like a disaster in khakis.

He thinks I’m a brilliant strategist. The truth? I’m just trying to keep my 'professional' smile in place while staring at his horns. But the more time we spend together in late-night work sessions, the more I realize the heat between us isn’t just my imagination. Can I help win the company’s biggest account and the Minotaur of my dreams, or will my little lie get me sent back to the basement?

Magnus

Discipline is my salvation. As CEO of Labyrinth Solutions, I maintain control. In the boardroom, in my life, and over the beast that lives inside my suit. Then Jamie Torres walks into my world.

He’s a new junior strategist; sharp, ambitious, and so distractingly handsome it makes my head spin. His scent is peppermint and temptation, and his shy glances at my horns make my possessive instincts roar to life. But keeping my hands off him might be the one merger I’m not powerful enough to negotiate.

Meetings with the Minotaur is the spicy and funny first book in the Love at Labyrinth Solutions monster romance series. If you like fated mates, significant size differences, and workplace shenanigans, you’re in for a treat. Begin your next adventure with Meetings with the Minotaur now.

🪣Easy, quick, spicy time with a very peculiar bucket of lube… 🫣

Instant Chemistry
Jamie and Magnus are immediately attracted to each other, and lust fills the room and electrifies the air.
I liked seeing that chemistry in action, and both characters are genuine and nice.

🌶️ Spice Check
The spice definitely emphasises size differences and does have its quirks… so be prepared.
You will hear about:
-breeding
-little men
-fat cocks
You’ve been warned...

🌍 Worldbuilding…
I appreciate that the world does sound quite elaborate, with several creatures making an appearance.
But if you are not familiar with those creatures, you don’t get much background on most.
This isn’t bad, but there was definitely an imbalance between:
-how many creatures there are
-vs how many humans
and how much we actually know about each.

🤨 The “He’s Different” exasperating Narrative
Now, I am not a fan of the “he is different because he is the only one who isn’t with me for my money and power” narrative. 🙃
Especially when:
a) it is clear both MCs have a kink for each other’s species (even if author does not spell it out like that)
b) while Jamie was not with Magnus for his influence, he did see him exactly like everyone else did…
and at no point did he see deeper than that before lust flew, cum squirted, and late-night snacks came in different forms… with sides of deep conversations. 🍽️

👀 Word Choice Curiosity
I am kinda intrigued (and slightly stuck on this)...
Why does the author keep using the word “monsters”?
When:
-it’s closely associated with fear and power
-and the whole point of Labyrinth Solutions and Crownpoint City is to unlearn that fear and build collaboration
Like… we had options. Many options….

Alors…
Anyway, these are unserious things (even when serious).
The book is still:
-fun
-full of laugh-out-loud moments
-quick and easy to go through
So if you’re into it… bring your own bucket, I guess. 🪣

Thank you Grey’s Promo for the ARC.

Fantastic monster romance debut from M.A. Wardell that has me begging for more in this world!!

I absolutely loved that we had humans and non-humans collaborating in a corporate workspace and city. I was all very normal and not like the non-humans were truly “monsters”. I love when we see “monsters” incorporated in a non-fantasy setting as a monster lover, given I would give my left arm for a minotaur husband any day of the week 😉

I love a good workplace romance, but throw in a lonely Minotaur boss, an up-and-coming human trying to make the most of his temporary position, and sizzling chemistry, and I am a goner! I absolutely loved how Jamie never looked at Magnus like a means to an end, or even someone to help get him a step up in his career; he looked at him like the wonderful creature he was. And the way that Magnus, this hulking bossman, was so reverent with Jamie from the very beginning, was incredibly touching and endeared him to me. He saw Jamie as not just a cute nerd (which, he was in the best ways!), but he saw him as a truly capable and smart man with many talents. Seriously, their actions with one another and chemistry kept me reading this book until my eyes were watering from needing sleep.

Last, but CERTAINLY NOT least, was how spicy the book was. Like Magnus having no refractory period, once the spice started it did not stop! Now, it takes a lot to make this monster lover blush, but once THE BUCKET came out to play, I was blushing like this was my first foray into smut. You’re just going to have to read it if you want the juicy details on that one 😉

Overall, a cute and spicy start to a new monster series that I will definitely be continuing! I can’t wait for the next book!

Thank you to M.A. Wardell and Grey’s Promotions for the eARC! The thoughts and opinions expressed above are honest and my own.

4.5 stars!

i am pretty sure that i’ve already overshared that i’m an insomniac. you might be wondering why would it be so important that i have to start this review with this fact.

well, the first night i started reading this, i also took a sleeping pill. a very strong sleeping pill. fast forward to the following afternoon and i open my kindle mid-sex scene, no idea how we got there. actually, i had very vague memories of the book itself.
what can i say, that sleeping pill works wonders.

HOWEVER. i catch up and read a few chapters. i enjoy them? i would’ve enjoyed them more if i remembered the rest of the book. i’m just glad i was sober and awake to read the minotaur filling a damn bucket with cum.

anyway. it’s night again and i take another sleeping pill. i finish reading the book.

you guys, i have no idea if this book is good or bad.
i don’t remember ANYTHING (except for the bucket of come, which sounds like a good thing)

i’m rating this 4 stars because i had a very good sleep and why not.

This was fun! I loveeeee a monster romance and CEO x employee 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 something about it just hits different

Magnus (MMC) and Jamie (MMC) work together but Jamie’s keeping a secret that may bite him in the ass later 👀. The characters immediately warm to each other and it was sweet seeing them slowly open up (lol) and be vulnerable with each other despite the circumstances.

WARNING: THIS REVIEW IS SPICY

My first official monster romance was overflowing with buckets of c*m. A minotaur CEO with pressed suits and an impossibly large cock...that ALSO dabbles in the art of origami? Please sir, I’m just a hole. This novella is for the size queens, the monster lovers, and fans of Zootopia. Wardell is definitely having a lot of fun with this one, and I read it in one sitting because it's a filthy good time. I was admittedly curious about dipping my toes in monster smut, and dare I say...this turned me on? But to be clear, I'm not into bestiality. Don't get it twisted.

Jamie Torres and his slutty little glasses go from the mailroom to administrative assistant to posing as a junior executive and taking Magnus' mighty minotaur loads during lunch breaks. Using a bowl of your own c*m as lube is crazy behavior, but he's a CEO and an award winning ass eater, so he can do whatever he wants. This is a quick and raunchy corporate monster romance with an age gap and heartfelt connection. Be it creature or human, we all worry if we're enough.

The story itself is a tad underbaked, but if you’ve come for the spice, you’re fine. Thank you so much to M.A. Wardell for the physical ARC in exchange for an honest review! As always, I adore your brand of M/M romance. And who doesn't love a novella? I'm so sat for the next book in the series. I love the cover art, but my goodness is it so misleading. LOL.

Fluffy monster smut with enough spice to singe your eyebrows.

This ticks the boxes if you just want a short spicy time. Magnus and Jamie were sweet together but their connection felt surface level. The instant attraction did most of the heavy lifting.

I know a monster romance requires a certain level of suspended belief, which I can usually handle. Minotaur CEO of a Fortune 500 company? I’m on board. What I couldn’t get behind is that Jamie, a mail room assistant, was able to wiggle his way into a project that is vital for the company by pretending to be a junior strategist. It made no sense that no one was like, who is this guy? Ridiculous. Then at the end after lying and banging his boss he immediately gets a promotion! I don’t want to be that person but someone call HR!

Cute and spicy but the ridiculous plot threw me. 3 stars.

So this was fun! I'd been curious about it since seeing the author's fb posts, so I finally tried it. I was again just checking it out, skim & fast reading, but then chapters in I realised I'm invested & always halfway, so I read it to completion in 3hrs. It's a monster rom-com in workplace, boss/employee & I enjoyed the carefree environment & sexy, cuteness!

Jamie works in the mailroom of the company, he wants to be a junior strategist (JS). Being asked to be an assistant can be his moment but when the CEO thinks he's a new JS, it's his chance to show his skills & that he does well. J's sweet, observant, passionate but he's got some self-esteem issues but he blooms so well at end ❤️.

Magnus is the CEO, he's a minotaur so he's big in all aspects 🤭. M prides himself on his control, especially of the horny beast within. But the meetings with J breaks M's walls! M's caring, looks strict (is, for important stuff) but is a teddy bear.

From the 1st alone moment, they're so obviously hooked lol. M wanted to keep professional distance, but duh that didn't work out 😂. I like that he communicated about that. J was so in haha, his lil crush 🤭. The sexy & sweet times are great. Of course, J's lie was gonna bite & it made me a bit teary-eyed at end, emotionally high but also satisfying!

I like how they see eachother as partners, equals. Especially as we got to see ass play from both 😍. Plus, they vers'ed in bonus, yay! Author didn't leave us hanging, yayyyy 😁. The office environment is OTT yet realistic in a fun & interesting way. I'll be looking forward to more in this series! If thered vampires & such, I wonder if there'll be magic!

Arc review

Jamie Torres loves his job as the mail room guy at Labyrinth Solutions, but he hopes one day to make his way to an office as a strategist, a call comes in, that could give him the opportunity he is looking for. The only problem is, he will have to have face to face meetings with the big boss.

Magnus Trainor is CEO at Labyrinth, and at over 7ft tall he towers over most, including Jamie. He finds Jamie sitting behind a desk and immediately reacts to his beauty, he cannot think about anything else.

I love MA Wardell and will read anything he writes. This is his first venture into the monster romance genre, and I have to say it didn't disappoint. The writing is pure perfection, as I have come to expect from Mat. I love the way he immerses you into this world. This boss/employee, forbidden romance is sweet and fluffy with a side of hurt/comfort thrown in.
The HEA is just beautiful.
Looking forward to more from Labyrinth

Ok, that was a delightful smutty romp 😂. Meetings with the Minotaur was everything you’d expect from @mawardellauthor writing monster romance - it’s cute and romantic and the spice is WILD 😮‍💨. Jamie is ambitious in many different ways 😂 and I loved how sweet Magnus is - we love a gentle giant. Their chemistry is obvious from the very beginning, and I honestly don’t know how they didn’t get in more trouble with BR (being relations) because they are NOT SUBTLE. Minotaurs are….. messy, and if you see the dedication page for this book, you’ll know exactly what you’re getting into.

I’m SO EXCITED for Matt’s monster era y’all, this is going to be FUN. 😎😎

ugh, these two are the sweetest and the spiciest together.

if you are looking for a cute, funny, swert monster office romance, then this book is for you. Jamie and Magnus will NOT disappoint.

their chemistry is off the charts and they make such a great team, inside the bathroom and outside of it, buckets and all. they are also super sweet and the way they love and appreciate each other and their differences is heartwarming.

I can't wait for the audiobook... I will definitely do a re-read when that one drops.

I am so glad I finally got to read this.

I absolutely loved Meetings with the Minotaur! Once I picked it up, I couldn’t put it down. This monster romance was quick but so, so good! The power dynamic, size difference, and buckets of c** made for such a hot story. And even though Jamie and Magnus were filthy, they had their sweet moments as well.

M.A. Wardell’s writing was fantastic. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

Time of death: 53% at the quote “suck me, little man”

I was so excited for this and it seems like a great world, but there was no development and no chemistry. Just straight lust and the spice was not spicing.

They tried to do the whole “he different, I’ve never felt this way” but it was so false and forced. Magnus is like “he made me feel…seen. I don’t have to pretend with him. No on sees me like he does” after literally one single interaction with 4 lines of dialogue.

I’m so happy that MA Wardell has entered his monster romance era! I want all my fave romance authors to do the same 😌 There’s so much fun to be had at this side of the romance genre!

I don’t have too much to say about this novella as it was extremely spicy, and its major plot point is all about a campaign Labyrinth Solutions is hoping to land with the city.

The main tension is in the fact that Magnus, our minotaur lead, is hesitant to open up his heart as previously he’s been hurt by others who haven’t really seen him for who he truly is. Jamie, our human lead, is under the pressure of having been assumed to be in a higher position in the company than he actually is, and he’s desperate to prove himself as capable to take on more work. The two of them grow closer and closer as deadlines loom over them, and Jamie begins to feel like everything is going to fall apart before him if he tells the truth.

All in all, I had a great time reading this! The spicy scenes were delightful, and in general Magnus and Jamie were really cute. I found it easy to root for them 💖

P.S. I could’ve lived without the use of “little man” as a term of endearment for Jamie, but this was still tolerable 😂

In a world where mythical beasts and humans work side by side, Magnus, a powerful Minotaur, is the CEO of the company where Jamie quietly works in the mail room.

When Jamie’s boss goes away and asks him to cover her admin duties, he steps up, perhaps a little too confidently, taking it upon himself to fill her role in an important meeting.

He has always been drawn to Magnus from afar, but now, working closely with him for the first time, that attraction becomes impossible to ignore.

Okay, who doesn’t love a bit of monster love? I’ve found myself getting more into monster romance lately and I couldn’t even tell you why.

I loved Jamie and Magnus together. Jamie shows Magnus he can be loved, and Magnus boosts Jamies confidence so much.

The “cum” bucket is gross but also so funny.

This book was such a lovely story about looking past what others think and staying true to yourself and your feelings. It’s also incredibly spicy and genuinely hilarious.

Meetings with the Minotaur - M.A. Wardell
4.5/5✨🌟

* SPOILERS *

I’m such a sucker for monster or paranormal romances because they’re so fun. This is my first book I’ve read by this author and I definitely need more because I had such a good time with these two.

Magnus and Jamie were so perfect together. They are both blindsided by one another and I just love how into one another they are. From the moment that Jamie touched his arms, I was gone for these two.

The spice was hot. I was not expecting to love the spice as much as I did. What do you expect with a monster romance? I love how intimate these scenes were because you tell how much they cared for one another as well. But man, those scenes were quite messy and it was epic!

Even though this book is super sweet, there is a bit of hurt/comfort thrown in with these two.

I will say that you will go through your emotions in this book. I definitely will be reading more books by this author because I was loving every moment from start to end.

I received a copy of this audiobook and this is my honest review.

Quick and easy read, I loved how Magnus wasn't how I expected him to be, he was nervous and almost embarrassed of my minotaur ways and wanted someone to look past the physical and really get to know and like him. The romance between Jamie and Magnus was sweet and honest. I loved their late nights and bonding and how that led to the physical side of their relationship. I didn't mind the miscommunication I felt it was very believable for a Jamie to not want to lose what he and Magnus had and to try and put it off for as long as possible. I wish more thought had been put into the work element of the story as it was the only part lacking in this office romance filled with sweet moments and raunchy scenes perfect for a quick read.

I've loved Matt's contemporary romances, so I was super excited and intrigued when I heard he was writing a monster romance. Needless to say I loved it. It was both so sweet and spicy at the same time, and I really enjoyed that balance. The workplace setting was fun and diverse, and I loved meeting all the other beings. Jamie and Magnus had amazing chemistry as well. Their communication was great, and I think Matt nailed his first foray into this subgenre. I'm super excited to read the next book in this world as well as other novels from Matt! Thank you to Grey's Promotions for the ARC to read and review!

Ahhh! This book had me giggling and kicking my feet. I’m obsessed. I’m in love. I’m in love with being obsessed. The writing style is so perfect. The characters are lovable. This is one of those feel good romance reads while also being heavy on the spice. Literally would’ve read this in one sitting if work didn’t get in the way.

Honestly this was just such a fun time. I love all of Matt's books so was very excited to see him venture in to monster romance.

It's cute, cosy monster smut but make it MM and workplace. There is tension and chemistry and both of the main characters are really likeable. All can picture for Jamie is Jonathan Bailey and his slutty little glasses and I'm not sad about it at all 😂 and Magnus is just adorable.

This isn’t the kind of book that needs a long, detailed review. If you’re looking for something spicy, sweet, and low stress at around 200 pages, this is exactly that.

i am actually giddy over this fucking monster romance bro
this felt like zootopia (?) vibes of creatures coexisting except they’re all different species of monsters in an office building and not animals in a police station (i haven’t watched the movie in a while, let my analogy serve its purpose without dissecting it, will you?)
magnus the minotaur is perfect and i will be accepting zero criticism on this matter

Based on the title, blurb and slightly goofy cover art, I was expecting this to be a cozy workplace romance with some spice, but they had about 5 minutes of on page conversation before they're fucking and talking about being “mates”.

DNF.

This author's sex scenes just don't work for me, as it turns out. The dialogue was very stilted and cringe. I noped out at “Now please massage my tonsils with your cock”.
