His Guilty Pleasure is the eleventh book in the Montgomery Ink Legacy series and follows Dash as he falls hard for his friends with benefits partner, Aly.
Dash was adopted by his two dads when he was little. They have raised him as a Montgomery his entire life. He works with his cousins as the face of Montgomery Construction. He attends the galas, grand openings and other social events, promoting the company and their work.
Aly was raised by her grandfather. As a young girl, her parents divorced. Her mother got involved in drugs and her father just walked away. He remarried, had a new family and started a new life that did not include her. Her mother only shows up when she needs something, usually money. Her father never shows up. She started her own company growing and selling plants to companies like Montgomery Construction. She has built a relationship with them and supplies plants for many of their projects. She works hard and enjoys getting her hands dirty with her work.
Dash and Aly met and decided to scratch an itch with each other. It was supposed to be one time, but it was not enough. Now they are friends with benefits. But no one can know. So they sneak around for private moments to enjoy each other's bodies. Until mother nature decides to pull a fast one on her.
When Aly receives an unexpected scare that turns out to be just a scare, and nothing more, she decides it is time to end things with Dash. It was only supposed to be one time, not ongoing. She does not want a boyfriend. She has too much going on with her business. Dash is not surprised, but a little heartbroken. He will not admit it, but he was falling for her.
But when Dash hears that Aly is in the hospital and why, he is on the move. He is going to be the one to take care of her when she goes home. He is burning the candle at both ends, but it is for Aly. He would do anything for her. He may not have realized it yet, but his family has, that he is in love with her.
It is unclear what happened since Aly is unable to remember. And since there has been no other threat to her, and she is healed, she starts back to work and going on activities with the Montgomery's. When they run into Dash's ex, Madison, while playing paint ball, everyone seems to get along and no hard feelings. Madison has moved on and seems happy. Dash and Aly are friends having a good time. Is it possible there is more going on behind the scenes?
But when a mysterious email is sent to Aly by an unknown person, she is stunned to see Dash with Madison. And it is a recent picture. How could he cheat on her with his ex? When he sees what has upset Aly, he cannot understand how she could believe it is real. It is a fabrication. But she is not thinking clearly. So he leaves to cool off. But is that really the right thing to do?
When danger comes knocking on Aly's front door, no one is there to protect her. And her guard is down, allowing the culprit easy access to his target. Will Dash be in time to save her? Or will he lose her forever?
Dash and Aly have a strange relationship. No strings, keep it quiet, but be at my beck and call. Both have their reasons. But when things start occurring, true feelings start to shine bright. I thought these two were just friends with benefits until Dash admitted she has been the only for him since he met her. But she only wanted casual. That had to be hard on him. Loving her when she did not love him back.
Aly grew up in such a strange family dynamic it is no wonder why she did not want to love anyone. Her mother left her and her father. Her father left her and created a new family. All she had was her grandfather. Although he loves her, he is older and does not show emotion the way she needs to see it. It is heartbreaking to watch someone who is too afraid to love for fear they will leave you.
Dash is so lucky to have two dads who love him unconditionally and do not hold back when telling him he is being a hard headed mule. Killian and Archer come at it from different angles, but have the same message. One is just more delicate than the one who is blunt.
Dash and Aly are both so lucky that they have the Montgomery family behind them. From Ford figuring out who the threat is to Dash's family making sure the police are called and en route while he rushes off to protect her. They always say it takes a village. In this case it is absolutely true.
Aiden Snow proves, yet again, why he is my all time favorite male narrator. He can do gruff and growly and then pull out the smooth talking Casanova. CJ Bloom brings Aly to life with all of her family drama, danger drama and love life drama.
