It’s been forever since I picked up a good cowboy romance, so the second I saw “cowboy” and “Christmas” in the same title? SIGN. ME. UP. And honestly it delivered exactly the sweet small town vibes I wanted. The story follows pastry chef Stella Leigh, who escapes the chaos of the city to reopen her late aunt’s bakery in Holly Creek. But instead of the peaceful fresh start she imagined, she gets runaway frosting, nosy locals, and even a golden retriever breaking into her shop very peak small town chaos. Enter Nicholas Clayton: the gruff, handsome rancher who the whole town basically treats like their favorite cowboy. When a rumor spreads saying they’re dating Nic suggests they fake it until Christmas to keep everyone calm but of course between flour fights, stolen glances, and that one kiss under the mistletoe, the line between real and pretend melts fast. This was just such a sweet, feel good love story. And it is so funny that I’ve somehow slipped into a cooking romance era because both books I’ve read lately literally have “recipe” in the title and honestly? I’m not mad about it. It’s adorable.Highly recommend this author and this book if you’re looking to kick off your holiday reading with something warm, romantic, and full of small town charm. Comes out November 25th!
This was a cute, Hallmark-feeling Christmas romance with plenty of cozy charm. The festive atmosphere is warm and comforting, and I especially loved the dog… he completely stole the show whenever he appeared. The added recipes at the end were such a fun touch and made the book feel even more like a holiday treat. That said, the story did feel a bit repetitive at times, especially around the central “it’s not pretend” theme, which comes up a lot. And although the hero is described as a cowboy, we see very little of that side of him. Overall, it’s a sweet, light read perfect for readers who want a gentle holiday escape.
Omgosh, this was so freaking cute. I loved the hallmark vibes. This book was so great. I loved the fake dating and how Nicolas and Stella thought this was a great idea. And it truly was. They had so much fun together! The banter and the laughing and flour fights just had me giggling and swooning at the same time. Absolutely adorable holiday romance. This is the perfect cozy read on a cold day.
Thank you, Morgan Leigh, for the opportunity to ARC and beta-read A Cowboy's Christmas Recipe! __

I FREAKING LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!
It's a Hallmark-style romance during the Christmas season. I adored Stella and Nic and their adorable relationship. I enjoyed the fake dating and the grumpy cowboy aspect. I ate the book up!!!
Highly recommend if you like:
- small town romance - grumpy cowboy x sunshine baker - X-mas - fake dating - humorous moments - an adorable golden retriever - lots of kisses
💞 𝑻𝑹𝑶𝑷𝑬𝑺 💞 * Fake Dating * Sunshine Baker × Grumpy Cowboy * Found Family * He Falls First * Cozy bakery nights + snow-kissed mornings
🎄CHARACTERS: Stella’s aunt passed away and she inherits the bakery. Her goal? To reopen it before Christmas comes to Holly Creek and not fall in love. Nic is the grumpy scruffy handsome cowboy who has a golden retriever that keeps sneaking into the bakery for sweet treats.
🎄BRIEF SYNOPSIS: Stella Leigh wants a fresh start in Holly Creek when she decides to try to reopen the bakery she inherited from her late aunt. She has no interest in falling in love right now. Enter Nic and his golden retriever, the local handsome grumpy cowboy. However, when the little town starts buzzing with gossip due to Nic and Stella being seen together a lot (mostly because his dog keeps sneaking to the bakery for treats), Stella agrees to fake date Nic - it will help him get his grandma off his back and give her someone to go with to the gala. Pretending there is chemistry is easy - but what if the kisses and flirting begin to melt the icy walls around her heart?
🎄THOUGHTS: this was such a hallmark Christmas movie in book form. I ate it up immediately. Morgan included some yummy recipes in the back of the book and let me tell you. I’ll be making them this year. I adored the dialogue and the relationship between Stella and Nic. I enjoyed seeing them grow and her resisting falling for him. I highly recommend this cute Christmas romance if you need something sweet to get you in the holiday spirit. For fans of closed door romance, hallmark meets Gilmore girls, small town gossip and hunky grumpy cowboys.
"Mind Your Sugar Bowls"! That's it. That's the review. Sweet, snarky, and exactly the level of sass this story is!
A quick, heartwarming holiday romance that delivers all the cozy, Hallmark-style vibes you could hope for. I had the joy of buddy reading it and it was such a delightful way to kick off the festive season! 🩷 ”Christmas isn’t about the perfect picture or the flawless gift. It’s about presence.”
The warm, comforting atmosphere instantly put me in the holiday spirit, and the dog… oh, Cooper! He completely stole every scene he was in. The little bonus of recipes at the end was such a charming touch, making the story feel like a true holiday treat. 🩷 ”I’m not giving up on us. Not ever. You hear me, princess? Not ever.”
The hero is described as a grumpy cowboy, but we see very little of that side; he’s more of a cinnamon-roll soft grump, which was adorable. The third-act breakup caught me off guard. Stella really should have groveled and made a grand gesture.
Sweet, light, and utterly enjoyable, this is the perfect escape for readers seeking a gentle, feel-good Christmas read.
The Vibes: 💫 Holiday Small-Town Romance | Sunshine Baker × Soft Grumpy Cowboy | Fake Dating | 3rd Act Break-Up | Found Family | Banter/Humor | Cozy/Seasonal (Christmas Vibes)
Favorite Quote(s): 🩷 "Love, genuine love, isn’t about waiting around for the perfect moment. It’s about showing up, even when it’s hard, even when you’re scared.” 🩷“Love isn’t safe… it’s brave.”
First of all, this is my first book by this author, but I can say with certainty, it will not be the last . I was given this Earc by the author so thanks so much for this 🫶🏻✨.
This book was a feel good holiday novella that hits all the right notes for a quick and cozy read. Stella, the city baker, returning to a small town is the perfect foil for Nic, the grumpy cowboy. The core trope of Fake Dating is executed charmingly, starting with a hilarious misunderstanding and quickly leading to some irresistible forced proximity.
I absolutely adored the trope of He Falls First. Nic is secretly the biggest sweetheart, especially with his dog Cooper, and his protective nature shines through as he helps Stella settle in. The added bonus of the recipes at the end felt like a truly personal gift!
If you need a quick dose of Hallmark movie vibes with a touch of rugged charm, this is your perfect Christmas cup of cocoa. Highly recommend for fans of Grumpy/Sunshine and Instalove holiday romance!
The moment I saw cowboy and Christmas I was sold and knew I had to read this. It did not disappoint this was such a cute short fun read. This was a great palate cleanser in between bigger longer books.

This was my first book by Morgan Leigh and she did not disappoint. This was such a cute holiday read. Lately I’ve been into the fake dating trope so this one was perfect. A Cowboy’s Christmas Recipe is a perfect little love story though there was no spicy scenes in this book it was still adorable and I really enjoyed the story and the characters. Definitely a book I’d recommend to everyone and would pick up and read again. I also absolutely loved the little recipes she added at the end of the book which I definitely will be trying to make. It added a special touch to the book.
Stella a pastry chef decides to leave the city chaos for a small town with a goal to reopen her Aunt’s bakery before Christmas. Rumors begin to fly when the towns favorite cowboy Nicholas is seen at the bakery with his dog they decide to fake date until after Christmas. But is it really fake? Can Stella and Nic hide their true feelings?
Nic is literally the best book boyfriend ever! I loved how supportive he was for Stella which is something she needs in her life. This book was everything I could ask for wrapped up in a little novella. Stella didn’t realize how much she needed Nic. I also love when I can relate to some of the characters and I related to Stella in so many ways.
Thank you Morgan Leigh for the opportunity to read and review your book! I absolutely loved it! I can’t wait to see what other books you write! 🥰🩷

🍋Nic- Stubborn, handsome and a little grumpy cowboy.
🍋Stella- Baker, returning to town to reopen late aunt’s bakery, find herself and her way in the World.
🍋Cooper- Nic’s dog. 🐕 I loved him throughout this, he really shone. He was more like a human and very in tune with what was happening.
As Morgan said herself “I wanted to write something soft. Something that felt like a hug in book form- a feel good, fluffy Christmas romance.”
This is exactly what this book was. It has all the elements to a good Christmas book.

The Cowboys Christmas Recipe 🤠🎄🥰
Tropes; 🤠Cowboy x Baker 🎄Fake Dating 🤠Christmas Romance 🎄Small Town 🤠He Falls First 🎄Grumpy X Sunshine
This holiday romance is so cosy and sweet. Small town Hallmark vibes with a touch of a grumpy Cowboy. The story follows Stella, a baker who has recently moved from the city chaos for a fresh start, who takes over her Aunt's Bakery in a small town. A small town full of nosy judgemental locals and never ending gossip. That's when we meet the Cowboy that is Nic; handsome, tall, grumpy, keeps to himself but super loved by everyone in town. We follow the pair navigate the rumours together when the town gossips about them dating so soon after Stella arrives in Holly Creek. Nic convinces Stella that the rumour might die down quicker if everyone thinks they're actually dating, and queue the fake dating✨ Highly recommend this story for anyone who loves Christmas or Cowboys or both 🎄🤠🥰 ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
This DEFINITELY has Hallmark Christmas movie vibes! It was short and oh so sweet. You've got your typical small town romance, complete with gossip and meddling neighbors. Aside from a few grammatical errors this was a solid read for the season! There is no spice so this is great for YA readers as well 💗 It’s very fast paced, so you just get told about how much their relationship has grown at some points instead of it being depicted on page. It also gets very repetitive with the “it’s just pretend” aspect. Also I do wish that there had been a little more of a scene with the ex butt head but that’s my dark romance reader brain at work😅 Like I said, Hallmark movie goodness. I would rate this a solid 3.6 or 7 This is my first read of anything by Morgan Leigh. I will definitely be checking out more when I need my cozy comfort vibes met 💗
This was the first book of Morgan’s I’ve read and I’m so excited to see what is to come next for her!
This was a really cute holiday read and has got me all up in my romance feels ahead of the Christmas season. What I loved most about A Cowboy’s Christmas Recipe is that there were no spicy scenes. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy a good spicy romance, but this was a nice refreshing break and Morgan nailed it perfectly.
Nicholas Clayton is my ideal book boyfriend and I fell in love with him the moment he was introduced in the book. Stella has some personality traits which I see in myself and I really like how she’s been made into a relatable character. Usually I’m not a massive fan when characters are introduced as someone who you need to warm up to, so to really enjoy a character from the beginning is a big win for me!
Big city pastry chef Stella inherits her aunts bakery in Holly Creek when she passed away. Holly Creek is a quaint small town that loves Christmas and of course has a good looking single cowboy that just happens to have the BEST golden retriever ever!! What starts as a fake relationship soon turns real and Nic and Stella must decide if love is worth the risk!

I love that this book ends with a few recipes!! Not only is it a super cute hallmark type book it also gives me a wonderful excuse to bake with my little ones this holiday! ♥️
Thank you so much for trusting me with this book and allowing me to ARC read!
Ok this was definitely a cute, cozy Christmas read.
I loved Stella And Nic and of course Nic’s dog cooper Stella moves to a small town called Holly Creek to reopen her late aunt’s bakery before Christmas. Nic is a gruff rancher and the town’s favorite cowboy. Stella and Nic decides to fake date due to the rumors spreading around holly creek. it was cute how Nic cared about Stella despite not knowing her that well. When things start to get real they both realize they aren’t “faking” anymore that’s when they both realize that there’s real chemistry there. Nic being the grumpy cowboy he fought for Stella and despite her ex showing up he didn’t give up
The ending definitely had me giggling I kind of feel like cooper and Stella’s Aunt kind of brought them together
Stella and Nic had me cheering for them from beginning to end!! These two genuinely had me tearing up with there love for one another 😭
This small town Christmas romance was exactly what everyone needs during the holidays anddd with a cowboy 🤭 SAY LESS
We can’t forget about all the amazing side characters like Maggie our supportive best friend to Stella. And of course the sweetest and maybe my favorite character Cooper 🐾 and so many more!
If you need the sweetest holiday romance with fake dating, friends to lovers, and much more to offer! This is your book and you must give it a read! Morgan did such an amazing job with this one!! So honored to have gotten a first look into this one!! 🫶🏼
My first Christmas read ever and I’m obsessed! It’s cute, warm and has all the tropes you could ever want. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book with the fake dating trope or a Christmas one in general and this was such a good first book to introduce me to what I’ve been missing out on 🙂↔️ Get your fuzzy socks and a cup of hot cocoa (and did I mention there’s also recipes at the end?)🥹
A Cowboys Christmas Recipe is a small town romance book where Stella Leigh comes back from the city chaos to reignite her late aunts bakery in Holly Creek. Gossip gets around fast when she’s seen with the gruff cowboy, Nic Clayton and they’re thrown into a whirlwind of small-town gossip. Might as well pretend to be in love and sell it until after the holiday gala so people can move on, right?
Stella - trades in her city life for small town town charm, she is in town to reopen her late aunts bakery before Christmas. Only the calm she wanted isn't what she got, with reopening the bakery, the small town gossip and the cowboy who can't stay away.
Nicholas - is the cowboy rancher in a small town, one where people know your life through gossip. A rumour goes around town about Nic and Stella dating, he doesn't correct the gossip but comes up with a plan with Stella on letting the town think they are dating..
It was only supposed to be pretend, but the pair find themselves falling for each other.
This is a beautifully written small town cowboy Christmas romance novel. One which caught me hookline and sinker! I ate this novel up.
The way this author brought her characters qnd storyline alive in this novel was brilliantly done.
This is a cosy, Christmas Hallmark vibe romance novel, what's even better is there are some delicous recipes at the back of this book!
This is the first novel of this author I have read and I can hands down say it will not be the last of this authors work I'll read.
I can't wait to see where this author takes us next!
ARC Review: I had the opportunity to read this book as an ARC and I am very grateful to have had this opportunity. This holiday novella had it's very cute moments and had the right amount of love and sweetness in it. I did notice some repetitiveness in the story honestly a lot, especially in the last few chapters. But! If you're looking for a short little novella for the holidays, add this to your tbr if you want!
I had the chance to have morgan reach out to me to read this new novella and let me tell you, it’s what I needed to put me in the christmas mood. Small town romance meets cowboy, what better to ask for!
It felt a little repetitive at times but none of the less a great and quick winter read to get you in the holiday mood!
Especially loved aunt June’s sweet surprises at the end!
The premise is cute but the execution fell short for me. With some stronger editing this could have been a really solid story. The plot bounces around a lot, both between character POVs and from location to location, and it made the pacing feel scattered. The inner thoughts of several characters also didn’t feel consistent or believable, which kept pulling me out of the story. Overall a great idea that just needed more refinement.
What I loved most is how grounded this story feels beneath the festive sparkle. Although I reviewed the wrong book earlier lol, but happy to place it right. Stella isn’t just chasing a dream; she’s honoring family, healing grief, and finding her place again. Nic’s gruff exterior hides a deeply supportive, loyal heart, and watching him quietly show up for Stella is incredibly satisfying. Their romance unfolds naturally and warmly.
ARC Review: I was given this novella in exchange for an honest review. It is a super cute fast read. It blends cozy small town charm and holiday sparkle perfectly. It’s sweet, genuine, and captures true Christmas spirit. You definitely need to read this if you are looking for a heartwarming story about finding unexpected love, holiday magic and a sprinkle of cowboy grit.
This book is a super cute heartwarming Christmas read. I love the little town of Holly Creek and how the author made the characters really invested in each other. It really gave it a small town feel. There were a few grammatical errors and continuity things that were a little confusing but overall it was a cute read for those who want to get into the Christmas spirit.
Cowboy Christmas recipe sprinkled all the cozy holiday magic i was craving. The baker and the farmer had the sweetest fake dating chemistry and the small town Christmas charm wrapped the whole story in warmth. It felt like the perfect read to ease into holiday season
I’m here for a grumpy man with a dog! Just felt like the pacing was a bit off for me. But the Christmas aspect was done so well and truly felt like I stepped into a snowy small town.
the cutest hallmark vibe read this holiday season! it was short and sweet in the best way. The banter ate, and the Christmas vibes were at 100% so honored to get the ARC!
Every other chapter I was confused one minute the FMC is saying she did something the next chapter the MMC is saying something different. It was very confusing and not enjoyable to follow.
