Ever utter those words? Maria ‘Mia’ Turner and Jackson Stewart’s lives may be intertwined like a giant Jenga, but they’ve been given a second chance to face their challenges together.
New-to-me author Dana R. Lynn is adept at depicting the complexities and struggles of everyday life. She allows her readers to experience the full spectrum of emotions through the broad spectrum of issues her characters face, allowing this rich tapestry to resonate with a wider audience. My problems certainly seemed insignificant when I read about the multiple challenges arising from an extensive array of conflicts!
The plot centers around Philippians 4:13 and reminds readers that Christ provides strength for us to face life’s circumstances. Her characters realize that they aren’t alone in the struggle and this gives readers encouragement. If you’ve ever wanted to run away from your challenges, wish life was easier or that you’d handled things differently, or that you had the faith you see in others, don’t miss this installment in the Heroes of Renegade series.
My takeaway: “Prayer always changes you. It doesn’t matter if you felt it.”
I can’t wait to see what happens next in Renegade!

A pulse pounding adventure from start to finish! The characters are richly developed and the plot is a ripped from the headlines tale that is chilling and inspiring.
Mia is finally back in Renegade, albeit reluctantly. She’s trying to get her check from the youth organization she worked with temporarily, but can’t seem to get anywhere.
Jackson is in law enforcement and he’s good at his job. But the position he really wants is guardianship of his younger brother. The court hearings never seem to swing his way, and the waiting is beginning to wear on him and on Dylan.
When Dylan disappears, Jackson sets aside his past with Mia and asks her to help. Mia is Dylan’s learning support teacher, so she has unique insight into how Dylan thinks.

Rescuer is the next installment of the Heroes of Renegade series. It stands mostly on its own with some connections and brief encounters with previous characters. The Syndicate is still lurking, and we get a bit closer to ending those responsible.
From the first pages in Jackson’s pursuit of custody of his brother Dylan, this story wraps you up emotionally. These characters have been THROUGH IT. Jackson and Mia’s high school mistakes, their wounds from their parents, their hurt with each other… they come into this story with a lot of pain. But isn’t it wonderful that God is in the restoration business? I loved Mia’s journey to faith in this story. I loved Jackson’s restraint this second time around. Second Chance lovers, rejoice, this book hits this beloved trope so well.
The action is fantastic. This story certainly kept me on my toes and was interspersed with beautiful character development. I definitely enjoyed myself!
I had to pull back a star because of a couple minor things. I felt like there were a couple threads that never wrapped up, such as what becomes of Mia’s cousins, among others. And most of the book flowed very well, but there were also instances where the writing felt a bit choppy and scenes or the passage of time suddenly shifted on me. It’s possible this will be corrected in the final version. I guess I felt some sections could have used one more round of edits.
I certainly appreciated this storyline! I loved Jackson and Mia and their journey toward their second chance at happily-ever after. I continue to recommend this whole series and am looking forward to starting the next one right away.

We are one book closer to the end of our Heroes of Renegade series. The latest release in the series is Rescuer by Dana R. Lynn.
Mia Turner is a special education teacher, and the last place she wanted to return to is Renegade. But in order to finish college and fulfill a dream she has to go back for a job. The last person she wants to see is Jackson Stewart. When his brother goes missing, Jackson comes to her for help. She’ll have to put aside their past to help him find his brother and some of her missing students.
Jackson Stewart is a Paramedic and is fighting to get custody of his younger brother. With a judge hating his very existence and a drug problem running rampant amongst the teens in his community, Jackson has his plate full. When his brother goes missing, Jackson is willing to do anything to rescue him, even work with the woman who broke his heart.
Rescuer is feel with a lot of good tropes, the main one being second chances. I loved reading about Jackson and Mia’s history and seeing them work through a lot of their trauma. Another thing I loved about this book is seeing all that Jackson did to save his brother. It’s definitely something you can relate to if you have siblings.
With only two books left in the series, we are finally starting to figure out the Shadow Syndicate. I feel like you need a board to keep straight all the things they got their fingers in. I’m excited to see how this all ends.
Rescuer is a quick and enjoyable read. You’ll definitely what to have read the previous books so you can understand everything to do with the Shadow Syndicate.

I enjoyed this no spice Christian romantic suspense. I think this is my first book by this author, but I have been following this series since its beginning. This book has so much in it. I am not sure how to begin writing my review.
This book tore my heart out with the first scene. This book is a second chance romance with a teacher and a paramedic, who used to be in the army and has done search and rescue. He is attempting to gain custody of his 15-year-old brother, who is in foster care.
This book has children tied up with drugs, teen pregnancy, overdoses, and a wild web of intrigue and suspense and danger. It felt like the hits kept coming out of nowhere and everything just kept building into this huge mess of deceit. It is definitely suspenseful and has a lot going on.
I enjoyed the FMCs passion for starting a pregnancy center as I have been involved with that in some form or another for basically my entire life. Hearing the paramedic parts was interesting as well as my mother is currently a registered nurse working with an ambulance system. The FMC having asthma and having that cause issues was also an intriguing addition to the story.
I am looking forward to continuing the series and seeing where the series-wide mystery goes in how it gets put to rest. The romance is just kisses, intimacy level 1.

This story was suspenseful and very emotional. Second chances are a key component to complete this story, as the book is filled with characters who are emotionally distressed and somewhat broken.
The first few pages were heart wrenching as Jackson is denied custody of his little brother, Dylan, by a corrupt judge. I thought my heart was going to break completely. I shed a tear or two.
Special education teacher, Mia Turner, and Jackson Stewart have a tale of heartbreak together from their high school days. When some students from Mia's school are missing, including Jackson's brother, Dylan, this is when the action amps up. There is definitely something wicked going on in Renegade.
I was so touched as Mia struggled with her faith. She had abandoned her faith, but her friends never gave up on her by praying for her and sharing their faith daily. Mia was a wonderful teacher who truly cared about the students of her school. Her home life was not a pretty one growing up, but this did not prevent her from becoming the best person she could be.
Both characters were likable. This author knows how to write a compelling and emotional story with great characters that will keep you engaged in the story. There were several mind blowing twists as well. I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy a good romantic suspense book with an inspirational message as well.

This could easily have been a standalone but it’s always best to read these books in the series in order to follow the stories. In Rescuer, we had Mia and Jackson, high school sweethearts that after years later see each other. Mia and Jackson broke up due to her family’s problems and his lack of family years ago. Mia is Jackson’s brother’s teacher at school and when the boy and some other teens go missing Mia helps Jackson on a quest to search for the missing teens. There is a lot of danger with this Syndicate group again, we get a little bit closer to finding out who’s in charge and some of the key members of it. Mia and Jackson are struggling with forgiveness and moving on from the past, but the main message is about forgiveness. Mia has to learn to put her faith in God and trust Jackson as well. I loved this book and I keep saying it I love this whole series and all the different authors just blend the series but also make their individual books their own.

Rescuer, written by Dana R. Lynn, is the fifth book in the Heroes of Renegade series. This is a series written by different authors. While this is part of a series, it is also a great stand-alone story. Having not read any of the previous books, I did not have any trouble following along with this story. This story is well written and easy to get caught up in. This s a great story filled with fast paced action, suspense and mystery are constant throughout the entire story.
I enjoyed Mia’s character so much. She cares so much for her students and puts their safety above her comfort. I like how she has changed her life to care for her elderly relative when others wouldn’t. I found her family members and the parts they played in the story to be interesting. I especially enjoyed the change that happened with her mother when long buried secrets came out. I found the relationship between Mia and Jackson to be inspirational in how what happened between them years early were talked through, and they were able to become friends again.

I thoroughly enjoyed Rescuer and could not put it down! From the first line "Jackson Stewart tore up the steps and into the courthouse, dirty and smelling of blood and sweat" to the last line, I was hooked! A story of suspense, small town secrets, forgiveness, second chances, healing, family bonds, trust in the dark times, and learning to do things God's way this time around. Jackson Stewart and Mia Turner have a past not easily forgotten or forgiven. Since their disastrous time in high school, Mia, a special education teacher, has been learning how to be self sufficient and how to protect herself. She is quite impressive when she has to display those skills. Jackson is a paramedic and retired military. He is trying to gain custody of his teenage brother. Despite their history, they team up to find students who have been disappearing one by one. Some have been found dead from nasty new drugs circulating around the youth in town. This story pulls you into danger and secrets in Renegade, past mistakes, dysfunctional family, found family, and a beautiful ending! I loved it and highly recommend this story, and this series!

This story takes us back to Renegade where there is more danger in store for its unsuspecting residents. We meet Jackson, a paramedic who is seeking custody of his younger brother, and Mia, a teacher who does not have a very supportive family. Jackson and Mia have a history, and they are reunited when Jackson's brother goes missing. The book takes us through the twists and turns of a drug ring and also touches on themes of teenage pregnancy, drug use, and trafficking.
I did feel that this story did not flow as well with the other books in this series, and it felt more like a standalone novel than part of the series that I have been reading since the first book. Some of the writing felt a little disjointed, and at times I felt a sense of whiplash because of the sudden plot/subject changes. In spite of that, this book was full of action and ends with a happily ever after. I always enjoy seeing characters get their happy ending.

This ended up being a beautiful story of redemption and reconciliation. I really enjoyed my time reading it. I thought it handled some of the more serious topics with grace. I didn't think this series could get any better... and then I picked up this book.
Dana R. Lynn delivers a gripping blend of pulse-pounding suspense, heartfelt faith, and a beautiful second-chance romance that had me hooked from the very first chapter. The danger never lets up, and I found myself flying through the pages, desperate to know what had happened to Dylan and whether Mia and Jackson would find both answers and healing.
Mia and Jackson's history adds so much emotional weight to the story. Their journey isn't just about solving a mystery—it's about confronting old wounds, learning to trust again, and discovering that forgiveness can open the door to hope. Their chemistry felt authentic, and I couldn't help but cheer them on as they fought for a future together.

Rescuer by Dana R. Lynn is a sweet, yet exciting novel. Readers will love how Lynn takes pain from each character’s past, and their past hurts with each other and works toward rekindling. There is plenty of action by running through the woods from bad guys and trying to solve a missing person’s case. Of course, there is plenty of unresolved feelings and issues between the hero and heroine that makes the readers want to stay involved in their life to see what happens. Lynn does a wonderful job crafting two characters who are three-dimensional, and readers will love to see how their storyline plays out. Overall, Rescuer by Dana R. Lynn is one of my top favorite stories, so far, from this series. It kept me glued to the pages of the story.

The Renegade series has been a big hit with me and Rescuer by Dana R Lynn is no exception.
Mia Turner never intended to return to Renegade and certainly never intended to take a teaching job in the same district as the father who seemed to tolerate her at best. When Mia’s aunt Gus gets sick that’s exactly where she finds herself. If she could just avoid seeing Jackson Stewart, the man who changed her life and broke her heart, she might make it through.
Jackson Stewart will do anything to get his 15 year old brother, Dylan , out of the foster care system. After all, they are all of the family they have left and they belong together.
When Dylan disappears and women who resemble Mia begin to be targeted, the two must come to grips with their past and work together.
There are some really difficult topics in this well-crafted story. Mia deals with cold, seemingly uncaring parents, teen pregnancy, loss, and terrible relatives. Jackson is dealing with the past guilt, the potential of losing his brother, and the reality that things that he thought about Mia were untrue. The city of Renegade is dealing with missing kids, and a major drug problem.
This story is a well-written emotional roller coaster with plenty of action. I was surprised, however, that the shadow syndicate which is the prominent theme of the Renegade series isn’t mentioned until near the end of the book. That being said, I would definitely recommend this book.

I really liked the preface of this novel. Childhood sweethearts. Second chance. Mixed in with the danger that brought them back into each other's lives? Great! Sign me up!
It took about 40% (yes, I read it on kindle) for the story to really grab me. But once it did, I was set!
I loved that the MFC was a teacher! As a teacher myself, I think Dana did a great job of crafting how much Mia was effected by the kids missing being the ones in her classroom. They might not have been her kids biologically, but they were her kids too.
Jackson was a wonderful MMC filled with faith, love for his brother and those around him and determination. I loved that he kept pushing for clues, and believed the best about his brother, and Mia, throughout the entire investigation!
All in all, this was a great next step in the Renegade series! I cannot wait for the next one!!!!

I am a big fan of books written by Dana R. Lynn. I can always count on multifaceted characters, intriguing plot twists, and unanswered questions that keep me turning the pages! Rescuer has all of these, plus an engaging emotional element. Mia and Jackson's tangled past, their current efforts to find missing teens, and Mia's troubled faith journey transformed this into more than just danger and mystery. I became emotionally invested in their future. Could they hope for a second chance?
Rescuer is a thrilling addition to the Heroes of Renegade series. I recommend it to all who enjoy romantic Christian suspense.

This book was amazing! The plot had everything - second chance romance, heart-pounding suspense, relatable characters, and unexpected twists that made me gasp. The people responsible for such evil were truly loathsome, along with a few of Mia’s family members. Jackson and Aunt Gus were wonderful characters, as well as a few side characters who were caring individuals. I was encouraged by the biblical truths woven throughout the story, and I personally related to some of Mia’s experiences as a teacher. I highly recommend this book and the other books in the series, and I am looking forward to reading the next one.

Rescuer, written by Dana R. Lynn was a page-turner and filled with intrigue from the beginning. Mia Turner, a Special Education teacher at Renegade Highschool and Jackson Stewart, a Paramedic in Renegade, had a personal history together. Their story included a young love that had turned into a tragedy. Yet, it was a love that their memories could never seem to let go. In present day, their city faced a new danger and many questions needed answered. Together, throughout the dangers, mystery, as well as a lack of answers - they formed an alliance. This book had it all. There was danger, lies, conspiracy and many reasons to search for the truth. I loved how Lynn crafted this wonderful book and give it 5 out of 5 stars!!

The Heroes of Renegade series has given us another breathtaking book in Rescuer. This 5th book just might be my favorite in the series so far. Featuring Jackson and Mia, we have the perfect mix of romance, tension, danger, and suspense. The balance of emotion and action was spot on. This is a book that makes you hope, believe in second chances, and fight for justice.
I highly recommend reading these books in order to fully appreciate the side characters and storyline. You will be hooked on this series in no time. Truly, these books make the best summer read!

There is plenty of action and mystery involved in this story and the romance between Jackson and Mia, former high school sweethearts. The Shadow Syndicate is mentioned in this story but I didn't feel like it was continuous with the former books in this series. The characters were also new ones, I like when the characters have been introduced previously and then we get their stories. So overall, it has a good plot, plenty of action, mystery/suspense, a strong faith element, and the romance between Jackson and Mia.

I have really been enjoying Heroes of the Renegade series. It's intriguing to see who the shadow syndicate really is and how everything fits together. However this book fell flat for me. The chemistry between Mia and Jackson was disappointing. It didn't feel like this book really fit into the series. There was only a brief bit tying it to the shadow syndicate and it felt loose at best. This felt more like a side story than part of the main overarching series. It was nice to see resolution for Mia and Jackson but is probably my least favorite of the series thus far.

This fast-paced, well-written read has plenty of action, suspense, family drama, and long-buried secrets. Jackson and Mia, who share a history, have baggage from when they were younger but as adults, they were able to work through it all. I enjoyed the faith elements in Rescuer and the changes made in Mia's mother's life by the end of the story.

So much to enjoy!
Jackson and Mia had a lot of bitterness and anger towards each other from their past. It was wonderful seeing them both find forgiveness and healing, and seeing Mia return to her faith. There was also a variety of secondary characters who really added to the story. The danger, action and suspense made this book difficult to put down. It was a terrific part of the series.

This is a thriller dealing with lost love, the drug trade, and family. Characters are well developed and in interesting situations. The main characters deal with a custody battle for a sibling, an old situation that calls for forgiveness, and moving forward with a relationship.
This is an excellent addition to the series. A definite must read.

This story pulled on my heartstrings. Mia is a special education teacher and the main caretaker for her elderly aunt. She truly cares for the well-being of her students. When one of her students is the brother of her high school sweetheart, the past starts to come back.
Jackson has returned to Renegade to try to win back custody of his younger brother. After jumping through hoops and showing up to court, something or someone seems to be working behind the scenes to make sure Jackson does not receive custody.
