Sienne has a thing for dark and brooding alphas and the diverse women who love them.

She enjoys writing stories where lines are blurred and the romance is dark and delicious.

In her spare time, she unwinds with a nice glass of wine and Netflix binge.

Tropes: Age-Gap, Proximity, Friends to Lovers. Grumpy/Sunshine dynamic, Taboo Relationship
This doesn’t happen in all her books, sometimes Ms. Vega allows me to keep my composure and read civilly and with an iota of dignity. However, her latest book, Mountain Man Savior, had me speaking (well not in tongues) but to the villains in the story…whew!
Young and rather naïve, Brandy has allowed her boyfriend Dwight to systematically strip of her other sources of support. Her friend group has diminished, she is not in contact with her mother, she has dropped out of college and now she finds herself stranded on a mountain…. alone AND pregnant. Logger Axe (as I am reading his name while writing this review, I realize that he uses an ax in much of his daily work😊) lives a solitary existence by choice; he is still mourning the death of his wife and baby daughter. Going about his mundane day, the last thing he expected to run across is a young woman, beautiful, unconscious, AND pregnant. His first instinct is to walk away, but his innate goodness won’t allow him to be that callous. He will help her as best he can and put her in the position to move on! However, fate has other plans and Brandy and Axe find themselves in proximity and fighting their raging attraction. The pair have little in common and Axe is old enough to be Brandy’s parent. Instances of mixed messages and rebuffs from Axe result in Brandy making the decision to leave his cabin by any means necessary. Will Brandy’s attempt to leave be a wakeup call for Axe? After years of misery and loneliness, Brandy has become the only source of sweetness in his bleak and barren existence. But Brandy is tired of Axe’s inconsistent behavior. One day he is the kindly and supportive man who saved her life and the next he is acting like he can’t stand to be in her presence. But how can she walk away from the only place and the only man who has ever made her feel totally safe? And then there is Dwight and his evil cronies, have we seen the last of them, and what is up with weird behavior from the wolves?
Conclusion:
Another terrific book by Sienne Vega and a bit of a departure from her mafia related stories. Recently she has taken us to the mafia world in South Korea and then dabbled in psychological thrills in the UK. She continues to flex her writing muscles with awesome results. As readers we know that she excels in contemporary romance stories with a bit of violence and intrigue. I am always excited when great authors like her put their spin on the tried-and-true alpha romance stories in a small-town setting. Mountain Man Savior is one such spin; I loved both characters, and they had tons of amazing chemistry. However, Axe and Brandy had issues to work through, and each had broken places. Axe took a while to open to the fact that he COULD love again, causing angst and pain all around. I was glad when he was able to accept that love is possible the second time around. I look forward to traveling to this small mountain town again…perhaps Hunter is next in line??
Favorite Lines:
Even the silence up here is different. It’s thick and loud, like an invisible wall that actually keeps the world out.
People who aren’t broken widowers hiding from the world in a mountain cabin.
But as I load the last of the cut timber into my truck, I can’t shake the image of her this morning—muted and apologetic and trying so hard to take up no space at all in a world that’s already failed her so completely.
The date night was my idea after I’d realized I’d never taken Brandy out on a proper date.
Hunter is another logger, younger than me but just as much of a recluse.
This is what building a life looks like.
This incredible woman thinks I saved her when really she’s the one who saved me.

quick weekend read

This was so so adorable. Brandy needed a man like our mountain man, Axe. She didn’t know that she truly deserved better. Her baby deserved better.

Mountain Man

They gave each other a reason to live again, to love again, to believe they could find love again for Axe, and to know what it means to be loved for Brandy without the drama she had to deal with.

Every woman needs a mountain man!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Axe was a broken loner living in the mountains who found a battered pregnant woman in the woods. These two people came together at the right time. They each needed the other. There are some moments where you will catch your breath at the violence and audacity of the protagonist in the story. Axe is the hero in this story. Brandi was a lucky woman who had a lot of baggage, which Axe took care of in his own way. This story is a great read and something different from this Author.

Sienne does it again! Mountain Man Savior is the perfect age gap romance blend. This book tells a story of Brandy a young, pregnant woman escaping a rough situation that just happens to be discovered by Axe a broody, loner mountain man. I love how they meet and how they develop a friendship and trust, even though both of them have been hurt in the past. This book is full of action and it kept me thoroughly entertained and this book is such a great read I highly recommend it.

Really enjoyed this. Pacing was perfect, I loved the progression of Brandy and Axe’s relationship. The beginning did make me uncomfortable when Axe would refer to Brandy as a girl, and that she could be his daughter- in reference to their age gap. Like please, let’s not.
Other than that, a very good read. I can’t wait for the next book- I have a feeling the mmc will be Hunter hmm.

Great read!

Axe and brandy find what some people look for but rarely find trust ,love and a future worth fighting for. Even tho axe hand a brutal blow thrown at him and brandy found herself in a position no pregnant woman should ever have to face but somehow she makes it wear she needs to be for her destiny to rescue her in more ways than one but also axe .

Fabulous read with some wine

Really enjoyed this, so glad when Brandy stood up to Dwight. Too bad she did have a bat to hit him with. Also Axe straighten up before he would have been alone for a long time. I will be seeing what book 2 is about.
