Fresh from a Yowie investigation in Book 6: Wildman, FBI Special Agents Nicole Beretti and Noah Jacobi are diverted before they can fly home. The Currumbin Valley has turned deadly with violent attacks and disappearances.
Working alongside an Australian Federal Police officer, they uncover a hard a local took “stray” pups from the bush. They were Dogman young, and the parents will make anyone who crosses their path pay.
With the valley under pressure, Beretti and Jacobi have to think outside the box to stop the creatures. They map approach paths, read sign, and fight to outsmart predators that are clever, calculating, and ruthless.
Tense, sharp, and fast-paced, this thriller keeps the ground shifting under your feet.

Beretti and Jacobi are on another case in Australia. This time, there is more than one dogman. These dogmeen are very smart and are getting bolder. Can they stop them in time? Fast-paced action-packed read. Full of amazing characters, scary monsters
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I need more. If you don't give it, I'm going to kidnap you Misery-style, without shattering your ankles, of course.
After the occurrences in "Wildman", Beretti and Jacobi extend their stay in Australia for a bit longer, after a series of Dogman encounters.
The most stable aspect of Lukas' books remains the same: great storytelling, wonderful dialogue and well fleshed out and grounded characters. The evolution of the stories is something that I am enjoying very much. The creatures themselves for instance. Not necessarily a matter of evolution, but in each novel, they are not simply a copy of the previous one. Sure, they share certain characteristic, but each one has its own personality, so to speak.
What does evolve, is the partnership between Beretti and Jacobi. To draw a parallel: in the first book or two, think Deep Space Nine season one; we're getting to know the characters, their world and a small level of awkwardnes exists between the characters. Now we're well into season five: they have found their flow and for me, it's a comforting and amusing dynamic.
As for the cryptid subjects of this book: for me, this is probably the first time I've heard of Dogmen in Australia. It works fine for the story but I wonder if not using another type of cryptid out of Australia's rich lore isn't something of a missed opportunity. Either way, it's not a big deal and I really enjoy the international 'excursions'.
Great horror scenes. Puts you on the edge of your seat! But it is Nicole, senior Cryptic hunter, that thrilled me. So calm, so cool, and accurate as hell. I wish I knew someone like her, maybe I do, I want to be her. ready for the next book...and the next ten.
I can never get enough of Nicole and Jacobi. The storyline was scary as heck with the tension building as each chapter went on. I think this is my favorite by far. I am looking forward to the next adventure. Thank you for this series, I have loved the ride.
I have read every Dogman book Luka has written and I need so many more!! I need enough to read once a day because they are just that great. The Nicole Beretti and Jacobi series is an added bonus that just makes the books even better because they have such a fun friendship. They are outstanding partners. The books just grab you from the beginning and never let you go!
Finished Valley of the Dogmen in one sitting. This one was an edge of your seat page turner. Luka.T. Jacobs never fails to deliver a good tale of cryptid terror and mayhem. Another enjoyable read from the Nicole Beretti Thriller series.
The characters are very well developed!!! I love how the author described scenes that I could picture. I would love to read more adventures that Hereto and Jacob I have! I wish I could give more than 5 stars!!! I am excited to read more from Luke T. Jacobs.
Now hook up already. Luka, how long are you going to make Jacobi and Nicole be more than partners? One thing about all these Beretti cryptid stories. They all can be killed with some good old fashioned lead poisoning.
I was not disappointed, I love the characters and how well the books are written. Can't wait for the next Nicole beretti thriller. Thank you so much for a wonderful read.
I just feel like I personally know Beretti and Jacobi now. Like, I’m invested in their story. Great character development, Luka. You have us caring as we follow the storyline. A great read and hard to beat.
Jacobs really knows how to keep you hanging on to every word. I actually caught myself holding my breath to see what happened next. Tighten your belt and hang on, once she gets started it's a wild ride to the last page.
It’s refreshing to read horror series that do not take place in the US. Luka has an easy way of weaving a fine story that keeps the reader engaged. Look forward to reading further installments of this story
Jacobi rapidly became addicted to Australian pies. This time the Dog men are out for blood, partially in retribution for the loss of their pup(s). This adds another element to their dangerous nature. Beretti and Jacob I continue to grow on me, character wise.
Love the novel. It was a scary ride. Fast paste with great characterizations. Had a tough time putting it down. Wanting to k Mom ow what would happen next
