Teyonna and Dominic
Tried to get into this one bc I love KW books...but I might have to stick with her regular books. These more "taboo" books are not my jsm AT ALL! This book was very long, mostly inner dialogue/thoughts of the MCs. The age gap coupled with the Mommy/good boy kink was super weird, for me. Also having one of the small children having pronouns, not sure how or what was going on. The "they/them" kept me confused about who "they/them" was...this was all too much. I had to skim the second half of the book because the same inner dialogue about the medical descriptions of your arousal response for every sexy scene was getting annoying. The MCs did not feel super believable honestly. Not my thing, but you may feel differently🤷🏾♀️.

I did enjoy the friendship between Teyonah, Ro, and Cadence, and I also enjoyed the drama.

This was just weird. Definitely not for me. The whole Mommy/Good Boy creeped me out. Don't get me started with the breast milk. I skipped so much of it, I wasn't sure how she produced it. Did she give birth or what.

If nothing else, this book is lust heavy carried through the whole story. I wasn't really feeling the mommy kink but could appreciate Dominic's devotion. He's a 25 year old med student renting the basement apartment of Teyonah's house. Even though he's rich, Dominic rents the space because he can't stand living in his empty mansion alone which he's doing because his parents passed away. Teyonah is the 39 year old mother of two sons who is going through a divorce. She put the cheating husband out at least a year before this book picks up the story which is the length of time that Dominic has rented the place. Dominic has formed a possessive obsession with Teyonah and tries to keep his desire buried but eventually Teyonah catches him while he's pleasuring himself to her doing every day things and they explore what they could mean together. Just in time for her husband to return with a court order that the parents have to live in the same residence for 6 months in an attempt to reconcile.
Dominic isn't having any talk of moving slowly until the time is over. He got a taste of Teyonah and won't back away. The husband is an attorney who does drugs but he's taken care of by the law and is arrested while he's high and after having just seen Dominic taking his wife on the dining room table. Therefore, the forced proximity doesn't last long and he's out. Next scene, Teyonah and the kids are living in the mansion together as a family, Teyonah and Dominic are married and expecting their first child together.
I loved the bond Teyonah had with her friends and I laughed out loud several times to their banter. The kids were achievable adorable and they added to the story I thought. Some of the scenes are drawn out too much and I was impatient for the story to get a move on in spots. All in all, this book is a steamy mommy kink read.

Teyonah is happy to have Dominic’s company AND his help as she struggles with fragments of her marriage and her vengeful ex-husband. As Dominic gets to know Teyonah and sees how she SEES him his heart is awakened and he yearns for her love. Dominic is more than a decade younger than Teyonah, but he is mature enough to know what he wants. Can he convince the skittish Teyonah to look beyond the optics of age and the disappointments of past love and take a chance on him?
Conclusion:
Taylor Rose has crafted an engaging mixture of passion and nurturing in the unlikely pairing of barely legal Dominic and gloriously broken Teyonah. Teyonah has suffered much at the hands of her careless and uncaring husband; at 39 she does not see how she could ever appeal to this young man teeming with masculine beauty! Dominic was looking for love, but he was also looking to MATTER to someone; he needed them to look beyond his outward trappings to see the somewhat needy person on the inside and with Teyonah he knew he was truly home. The story utilizes some age-play, but it is more geared toward nurturing and caring intertwined with craving…whew. I enjoyed all aspects of this story; the disposal of the villain, Dominic’s duality (strong but needy), Teyonah’s strength in the face of her ex-husband’s callousness and her tender succor for her children AND Dominic…these elements totally meshed to make a great story. In addition, I loved the relationship of the ladies in the book club and sincerely hope that their stories are in the works😊.

Okay! Okay, your a medical student.
We get it! I appreciate the thorough research that went into this. Some of it was fascinating. However, some of it was just overkill.
I'm not sure how I feel. I don't have a problem with the age difference or the many kinks - in fact getting this right earned the 5th star. The main one is not my thing but its somebody's and I hope they find this book to enjoy.
I had a different review written but, then I reread the TWs and my bad. I adjusted my rating. It'd be unfair of me to give that review when it was right there. Dark and obsessive. Which usually means a myriad of toxic traits. "Obsessive" was not some cute little title given like when someone who is really neat says they're OCD when they're not. He was unhinged and his thoughts were chaotic.
Dude doesn't need a woman, he needs therapy. He literally says, "Did she know that if this heart ever beat for another man, I’d kill him? Then, I would stop her heart." I kinda noped out after that, lol. I admit that he seemed to level out later. That is until he said that she'd be his only sustenance forever. I hope she never falls out of love with him because, "You in danger, girl!" You are not going to make it, lol.

Taylor Rose meant serious business when she sat down and wrote Yearn. This book was recommended to me and I had no idea what it was about. I was just along for the ride whew what a ride it was! Teyonah the FMC is a mother of two that is going through an absolute nasty divorce from her lawyer husband, who is just a dirtbag and in order alleviate some of the financial stress of her divorce she rents out an apartment to Dominic the MMC a young, hot med student. Yarn dives into the story of a mother who’s priority is always her children that also learns that her wants and needs are important as well. Every character in this book is pure perfection, and every character mentioned brings something to the story. Teyonah’s friends Ro and Cadence are hilarious and blend perfectly together and I hope that we get stories from them also. Yearn does not hold back and is extremely well written and is an absolute must read.

If obsession was a person….
Reading this story as an RN I want to go to work and hunt down one of the doctors and see if personally hearing about the bodies physiological reaction to arousal is just as hot as reading it 😜🫣🤣 I’m not giving anything away GO READ IT FOR YOURSELF! And Ms. Ma’am! Ms. Rose…Kenya!!! where are the graphics…the sketches…the pics! One thing I always look forward to about reading one of her books are the images that goes along with the storyline. Anywho I have yet to he disappointed by a read. I’m hoping the besties get a book too 😄

Messy Love
I was going to give a 4 stars because I have a few unanswered questions such as Teyonah’s background… but Dominic deserves a 5 stars , that man is just WOW… he , himself described his obsession in a psychological way, he diagnosed himself… but to him that didn’t matter, Teyonah and the boys were his lifeline. As for Tey, I am glad she saw beyond society expectations and went for what she wanted.
Rochelle made me laughed so hard, that woman is something else… all 3 friends , they balanced each other. The scene with the Mrs « self-righteous « watching them in the kitchen and add Scott to it was priceless 😂😂😂and the life changing… lol

Yearn was hot and steamy, with just enough of a twist to keep me turning the pages and wanting more. The age gap only added to the intensity—Dominic taking control of Teyonah made their connection even more compelling. What I adored most was how he loved and supported her children, showing a softer side that balanced his dominance. But then his dark side surfaced, and that took me for a loop, adding layers I didn’t expect. The mix of passion, family devotion, and unexpected shadows made this a story that kept me hooked.

Honestly, I'm not into "mommy" or "daddy" during sex. However, Dominic and Teyonah were. They absolutely had some very very hot times. Teyonah needed someone to appreciate her because her husband sure didn't. Dominic was every thing that her husband wasn't. I loved the Book Club ladies. Every one needs loving support that they showed Teyonah. I'd like to read some of their books😊. Sure would love to read about Cadence and her biker and To and her neighbor. All in all, I really enjoyed your book and I plan to read more of your books.

First chapter grabbed me and didn’t let go! This is definitely not your typical Older Woman/Younger Man romance. The book is dark, psychological, mysterious and yet beautiful. Dominic may have been younger, but the way his mind worked and the way he loved Teyonah was next level maturity and experience. Dom has been through some things and it prepared him for coming in and showing “Mommy” a new way of life!😉🔥🫣
Now I need to know about Cadence and the Biker🤔🤔

A Win for Taylor Rose
Dominic and Teyonah love story is one for the books. His method of showing his love and devotion is definitely appreciated by the FMC. I was on the edge of my seat reading the conflict with Teyonah's ex husband. He is such a douche bag! The way the author resolved the conflict was genius. Read this book. The story and sex deserves a 5 star rating.

This was a good story. The male lead was intense, devoted, and submissive. There were some lines he said that had you like, well, that is the kind of love I want to read about, but not sure I want. The ex-husband describes every narcissist I have ever met. You won't regret this book.

This book had me re-thinking why I gave up a similar opportunity a few years ago just because of a clinical number. I see now how good the sex could have been. Sometimes I swear KW is living inside my head and writing all my fantasies without me saying a word. Thisbis not for everyone but damn if it doesn't start a fire for those so inclined. I was not expecting this. I knew the basics, but this book took me on a merry go round of emotions. Anticipation, gripping fear, waiting for the next shoe to drop. It started off slow with a lot of internal dialogue that just continuously dragged on but it got better after the first few chapters.
I appreciated Dominic’s devotion to and protection of Teyonah. It was a good read. It definitely has kinks that some people may find difficult to read but keep an open mind.
I appreciated Dominic’s devotion to and protection of Teyonah. It was a good read. It definitely has kinks that some people may find difficult to read but keep an open mind.

I didn't know I'd be into this type of age gap relationship. Dom was so freaking hot!!!! The Mommy kink was wild but totally hot.
I definitely want a book devoted to Cadence and the biker at the library. All of Taylor Rose stories rock. I'm never disappointed.

This is my first book by this author, and it won’t be my last. Kinky but classy. I was there for it all. I loved Tey’s friends and their dirty book club. Definitely gave me ideas. This will not be the last book I read from Ms Rose.

Yep. This is my morally dark limit. I learned a lot and only b since d a few times. I loved the friends relationship and look forward to reading their stories as soon as possible. As for the love story? I appreciate a good fairy tale and this is definitely that.
