A Biography of an Influential Monarch
Edward I was a monarch who shaped the future of England. He succeeded in retaining Aquitaine in western France as an English possession and permanently annexed Wales. Wales remains a part of Great Britain to this day. He was not as successful in annexing Scotland in spite of numerous military victories over William Wallace and Robert the Bruce. He is accused of brutality by critics but it was a necessary element in the Middle Ages.

Fascinating
A really good quick but very informative read. Quick fire history gets my vote every time. The book was very well written and easy to follow

I liked the length of this, and would happily read more hourly history offerings, as this was well paced, full of information but not overwhelming.

As I knew nothing about Edward I, I found it a very interesting read. It told of his childhood, his many Battles, and his family life.
