An enjoyable read though one difficult to follow at times with 2 main storylines to follow. Alot of jumping from one line to another and then different time periods. Konrad, the retired detective is still looking for answers to his father's murder years ago. He is also looking into the murder of a woman who had recently asked him for help to locate a child she had given birth to many years ago. Many issues dealt with and then a surprising twist at the end.
Enjoyable read - author is a great story-teller. Some of the characters were difficult to "retain" , as couldn't pronounce their names. A list of characters at the beginning would have helped. Also, story moves between "then" and "now" with no notice. Nevertheless, kept me entertained - several storylines from past to present intertwined, that all come together at the end. But, then found out it is the third book in a seried of "Konrad" detective novels. It did well as a standalone, though obviously some bits didn't make sense. Mostly the ending - Konrad's search for the truth about his father's death continues.. Would like to read more from this author. Rating more toward 3.75.
