The journey has been a long one; and through its twists and turns, we have lost some dear friends. Who lives to see the next sunrise? There is only one way to find out.
Tucked away in the Pacific Northwest with my wife Denise, a Border Collie named Aoife, a guitar collection, and an increasing number of aquariums sporting a variety of fish (cichlids are my new favorites), I live for football season when I can cheer on the Oregon Ducks and be disappointed by my Seattle Seahawks once again. I am a fan of Cookie Monster, KISS, and Dr. Who (along with most things British).
As a person who always dreamed of writing as well as one completely enthralled by all things zombie, it is hard to believe that I never once considered writing in the genre. It is true. I wanted to be more “mainstream”. The first novel I actually wrote is titled Dakota (as Todd Brown). It is about a pair of DEA types tossed back in time to just prior to the start of the Civil War. They are in Charleston, South Carolina, and one of them is an African-American.
The zombie thing really started when I wrote a short for a college Creative Writing class. The teacher, Ms. Bose, pulled me up and told me I had an obvious love for the subject and a real talent for the style. I decided to give it a shot.
The first thing I cobbled together was Zomblog. I wrote it as a warm up for the project I had brewing in the back of my mind. It is a journal account of the apocalypse. The funny thing is that it was never intended to be published. A few things happened and it ended up being presented to me as a gift in book format by my wife for a Christmas present. There was something I will never forget about holding the copy of that book in my hand the first time. Because it gained a readership, and those readers asked for more, I made it a trilogy (Zomblog, Zomblog II, and Zomblog: The Final Entry). It is also because of those fans that I have returned to the Zomblog universe and just released the sixth (and FINAL) book in the series on Halloween of 2013: Zomblog: Snoe's Journey. I freely admit that I will sellout my plans to write what the fans ask for.
I really want my DEAD series to be what I am known for, and in the last year, it has really taken off. However, I will say that with the release of the fourth book in the DEAD series (DEAD: Winter), the numbers started to pick up beyond my wildest dreams.
The DEAD series (DEAD: The Ugly Beginning, DEAD: Revelations, and DEAD: Fortunes & Failures, DEAD: Winter, DEAD: Siege & Survival, DEAD: Confrontation, DEAD: Reborn) is scheduled to be a 12 part epic series.
It is told in three rotating chapters. One is from the first person perspective of Steve Hobart, a man thrust into the role of leader for a group of survivors struggling to keep alive. One chapter follows a group of four self-professed zombie “geeks” who initially believe that the zombie apocalypse would be fun and soon discover that it is nothing like the movies. The third of the rotating chapters is called “Vignettes” and is a series of snapshots from all around the world. Some of the vignettes are single chapter episodes, others are continuing threads that carry on for several chapters. A few are merged into the Steve story or the Geek story line.
Last year,I began my horror/comedy series, "That Ghoul Ava" and have found it to be my new guilty pleasure.
Omg....I love TW Brown!!!! If you haven't started this series yet_what the he'll are you waiting for? The Zombie Apocalypse? Well it's all right here for you folks. All the blood, gore, horror, humor, despair, love, hate, death and life you could ever hope for-in one blockbuster series. I s### you not! I've read all the biggies-Tufo, Mckinney,Brooks,
Mayberry Bourne,Moody(all of whom you should also read)& this fine gentleman is right up there with them. Go buy them now!!!
I liked the way you ended your saga. I actually cried over a zombie book! I will continue to read your dead stories. Will we have the living characters in the new books? I am excited for more. Well done T W Brown.
Brown wraps up his series decently. There are some cliches, and despite what others say he has a definite soft spot for at least one protagonist, and their story arc and fate demonstrate that authorial favoritism.
This book was fantastic, I can't believe this is the last book in this series where is the rest I want more. I love your books so sad to see this is the end.
T W Brown's Dead: End is the 12th book in a series about a zombie apocalypse and different perspectives. The series concludes with this fantastic finale. We see so much growth in the survivors and get a glimpse at what they are looking at as a future. It's been a long and hard road but they are still striving. I loved every moment of this series and can not recommend it more.
Narrator eally brought the characters' personalities out and the story came to life. Great job. Love it!
I liked the series and his style of writing was interesting and fun to read. Never quite knew what to expect when turning the page and finding out a favorite character was being killed off.
I am not a zombie can but I loved this series of eleven!
It was hard to put these series down, every book was the same I loved it had to keep reading I have completed the series of eleven Dead and it was the best series I read in along time.
What a series - and a good end. Thank you TW Brown - Being from the Pacific Northwest I could relate to a good portion of the characters and areas you mentioned throughout the series.
This is book 12 the final novel, I was dreading this one, we were told that only one person would be guaranteed to still be alive by the last chapter.. though more than that one person is still alive in that final chapter, the ones who don't make it go out in very different ways, (minor spoiler ahead) one person I figured would go out swinging kind of commits suicide by leaping into the zombies, (end of spoiler) the other deaths are are also sad. Be sure to get the books in the correct order starting with "The Ugly Beginning" and be prepared for a roller coaster ride, if I can say one negative thing it's only that we didn't get closure on a few people (unless I missed something in a previous novel), what happens to Heather & Aleah from Kevin/Catie's group and the rest of that gang heading to the Dakota's, over all I'd say it was worth this ride and I'll be doing it again with his audio books, most purchased at a discount because I already have the digital books, give the first book a try it's usually free in the Kindle store, I hope you enjoy.
Is it the end though? I think not. I want to follow the younger generation on their next adventure.
I have thoroughly enjoyed living the highs and dreadful lows alongside some truly lovable characters, my favourite, of course, Kevin.
Far worse than the forgivable acts of the undead, due to their animalistic nature’s, were the acts of some of the most depraved human beings.
I’m left with many unanswered questions, for example, the cats and children? Albeit a natural pairing, this is most definitely unnatural and I want to know more!
For some reason, I am set on reading book one again.
I just want to know one thing that I can't seem to remember. Who is our mystery assassin/punisher guy? Every character that list their life to the fight in survival....you will be missed. Those who thriving to live a relatively decent normal life, I'll miss your adventures. Mr Brown, I can't believe you would leave us like that but the series brought your readers closer to our characters and hard to say bye to it all. I live your books! Thank you
Another great book!!!! Love the way it ended!!! The whole series is an emotional and you can get attached to characters but in the end you fall in love with everyone in the series and the side stories are the best!!! I can see many other stories coming from the series especially after this book it's far from over!! There won't be a 13th book but these characters are far from being done!!! I look forward to the other books!!! Great job TW Brown and thank you very much!!!
I don't know how to write a review, that I would consider worthy of the end of this series. All I will say is that I believe that the author has done well by us; as readers I do think we can have unrealistic expectations, this book made me feel- anger, sadness, all the emotions, I will imagine that was what the author was shooting for-excuse me- should go write some hate mail, to an author for killing off a character....
I absolutely love this book. They always pick where the last one left off. I love the characters and saddened when one leaves. But the books always work out the way they should.
I loved this book and series. The series is a must read for any true zombie apocalypse enthusiast.I look forward to any writing from TW brown, his mind is a pleasure to do battle with.
