"Facade" might be a small story but the emotions it carries are anything but small.

It's about Sumit and Mitali, a couple living in the hills, busy building their dream resort. One day, Mitali meets Radhika, Sumit's ex and her fiancé Varun. Thinking it's just a happy coincidence, she invites them home. But what starts as a friendly reunion slowly turns into a night where old feelings, regrets and secrets begin to surface. Sumit's sister Avani also joins them on the request of Sumit & together they face emotions none of them were ready for.

It's a small book, but it says so much. The writing is very simple and easy to read yet it carries a depth that hits hard. The author beautifully shows how people hide pain behind smiles, how truth gets twisted for comfort & how relationships are never as perfect as they look from the outside.

I liked how real the characters felt, no one was completely right or wrong. They were just people, trying to hold on, trying to look fine. The emotions felt raw & honest. Even after finishing it, I kept thinking about Radhika, the way she smiled but looked like she was breaking inside.

This book may be short but it has that quiet strength that stays with you long after you're done. It's about love, loss, mistakes and the masks we wear every day.

Facade isn’t just a story about a reunion gone wrong but it’s about the lies we live with, truths we bury, and the unbearable weight of pretending. What begins as a harmless reunion slowly turns into an emotional autopsy, where every laugh and shared memory cuts a little deeper, revealing everything they’ve tried to hide.

🤍

The author creates an atmosphere that’s both intimate and suffocating. The living room feels like a confession booth, the wine glasses like tools digging up the past. Every conversation grows heavier, every silence louder. I especially loved the mention of the leopard, a quiet, haunting symbol of wildness and danger that mirrors the chaos simmering inside each character.

🤍

For me, Radhika stands out the most. There’s something raw and painfully real about her. the way she tries to stay composed while clearly breaking inside. Her emotions feel closest to the reader’s, as if she’s the only one still trying to hold on to her humanity while everyone else hides behind their facades.

🤍

The novel’s sharpest moments come from its restraint. When Radhika asks Avani, “How bad is bad enough for you?” and Avani answers, “Nothing is complex. Everything is simple,” you can feel the tension slice through the room. And moments later when Avani’s flippant remark ‘Trauma’ is such a big word these days. Very fashionable.” lands with quiet cruelty, freezing the air. That moment genuinely gave me goosebumps.

🤍

What makes Facade different is how real it feels. The emotions aren’t exaggerated and they simmer, crack, and finally spill over. It doesn’t rely on shocking twists but on the slow burn of honesty and pain.

If I wished for anything more, it would be a deeper look into Avani’s perspective. She’s cold and distant, but there’s clearly a story behind that armor, and I wanted to understand her more.

🤍

In the end, Facade is about survival the desperate act of seeming fine when everything inside is falling apart. Elegant, brutal and beautifully written, it reminds us that sometimes the hardest thing to face isn’t each other. It’s ourselves.

Honestly, I still thinking about Radhika and finding her to be in some of persons around me.... The way she smiled from outside but was breaking inside. I actually want to just sit with her and say, "You don’t have to pretend. I see you." That’s the kind of emotional punch this short book gives.

About the story:
Facade may look like a short read but trust me those few pages hit deep. The story is about Mitali and Sumit a married couple living in the hills while working on their dream resort. In this Story everything looks perfect from outside the work, home, plans, future but inside there are cracks nobody wants to face.

One day, while shopping Mitali accidentally meets Radhika who is Sumit’s ex and she sees her buying a ring with Varun her fiancé. Mitali thinks it’s a happy coincidence and invites both of them for a reunion dinner. But the moment Sumit hears Radhika is coming he gets uneasy & disturbed and immediately asks his sister Avani to join them too. That night brings them all under the same roof but along with that comes old wounds, unsaid words, jealousy, regret and truths that were never spoken out loud.

This book is not just relationships. But the masks worn to look fine. How we hide pain behind smiles. How sometimes love doesn’t die it just gets buried under life, ego, decisions and time. How marriage isn’t just two people but also their past, their fear, their sacrifices. It’s a story of love, loss, secrets and how pretending to be okay slowly kills self from inside. Even in just a few pages, the author made me stop and feel. Simple writing but hits like a truth which is avoided. The emotions are raw jealousy, confusion, heartbreak, guilt. The characters felt REAL, not perfect or filmy. The twist wasn’t loud but it shook something inside. My favourite part was how every character had a reason. Nobody was totally right nobody was totally wrong. Just like real life where everyone has their own side of the story.

"Facade" is a powerful but surprisingly quick read that keeps the readers hooked throughout till the end. The story opens on Mitali and Sumit, a couple who owned a beautiful resort in the hills. However, their perfectly constructed world begins to shake when Mitali invites Radhika, Sumit’s former love, and her fiancé, Varun, to the resort’s opening dinner. What starts as a celebration quickly turns into something really deep and unexpected. Each character holds a secret, a painful one that typically makes the plot more interesting to read. Dive into this amazing book to know what happens next in the story. The author’s simple yet effective writing style is what makes this emotional drama so hard to put down.

The emotional honesty gives the story a rawness that makes it easy to connect with the characters on a deeper level. The usage of rich yet simple language makes it easy for the readers and even beginners to understand. The best part about the book " Facade " is how skillfully the author describes everything in a brief and clear way, without making the story feel lengthy or boring. It’s a compelling example of how a short story can still feel incredibly deep and impactful. I have read a book by the author previously & can happily say that he didn't kill my expectations at all.

The book is available on Amazon, do grab your copies now and give it a read. It tells how complex relationships are, and that love doesn’t always disappear — it just gets covered up by our choices and the fear of accepting what’s really in our hearts. The collection is paced well—it's fast enough to keep you engaged but steady enough that you never feel rushed. Highly recommended. Can't wait to read more books by the author in future. A must-read for anyone who appreciates stories that cut close to real life.

Just finished reading Facade, and I genuinely didn’t expect it to hit this hard. I actually picked it up because I was in the mood for something short and emotional!! a quick one-sitting read. But halfway through, I forgot it was “short.” The dinner scene between Mitali, Sumit, Radhika, and Varun completely pulled me in it starts so normally, almost cheerful, and then suddenly the air shifts. That moment when silence takes over the table… I could feel it.

My favourite character was Radhika. There’s something so raw about her!!! she’s composed on the outside, but you can sense she’s holding back years of pain. The way she faces everyone, especially Sumit, with quiet strength rather than bitterness, really stayed with me. It’s not dramatic, it’s just real.

What’s different about Facade is that it doesn’t rely on twists or big reveals. It’s more like peeling layers off people until you reach what they’re truly made of guilt, regret, love, ego all tangled together. It reminds you how everyone carries their own version of truth, and how sometimes, pretending to be okay is the biggest lie of all.

If you like stories that feel close to life — messy relationships, buried emotions, people trying to hold themselves together this one’s for you. It’s short, yes, but it makes you stop and think about how much we all hide behind our smiles.

If I had to wish for one thing, maybe a little more of Avani’s story!! she had such an intriguing presence, I wanted to know what she was hiding behind her laughter.

A small book, but it leaves a big silence when you’re done reading it.

✨ A quiet story that reminds you how heavy the word “I’m fine” can really be.

This book caught me completely off guard. I picked it up thinking it would be a light, quick read and yes, it was short. But emotionally? Not at all. It slowly pulled me in, and before I even realized, I was sitting with this strange mix of tension, curiosity, and ache in my chest.

The story begins in this peaceful villa calm, quiet, beautiful but underneath it all, something feels off. Sumit and Mitali seem like that perfect couple with the perfect life, until an unexpected reunion shakes everything they’ve built. And from that point, the whole atmosphere shifts. Every conversation feels layered, every silence feels heavy.

What I loved most was how real it all felt. Nobody in this story is purely right or wrong. They’re just human flawed, messy, emotional. Everyone’s trying to look fine, hold it together, but you can feel the cracks showing.
And the plot twist… I genuinely didn’t see that coming. I had to stop for a second and was like wait what!?

But what stayed with me most was Mitali. Everyone talks about Radhika’s pain her emotions are visible, and people naturally feel for her. But what about Mitali? She’s hurt too, only in silence. No one really sees her pain because she doesn’t show it.

For me, Facade was both an easy and a difficult read easy because of its smooth flow and simplicity, but difficult because of how heavy it feels by the end. It reminded me that sometimes, people hide behind calm smiles while carrying storms inside them.
A quiet story that leaves a loud echo…

"Facade" is a short cozy read if you are looking for a book that has - tension, drama, buried emotions, and half-truths can shake even the calmest of lives. I finished reading this in one sitting and I enjoyed it.

The story follows Sumit and Mitali, a couple excitedly preparing for the grand opening of their resort, only to have their world unexpectedly stirred when Mitali runs into Radhika and Varun - a seemingly happy pair whose arrival brings the past rushing back. Sumit and Radhika shared a painful history and the quiet tension between them unfolds gradually, revealing layers of ambition, betrayal, and choices that can’t easily be undone. I also enjoyed reading about Avani, Sumit's sister's role. She sounded like a jovial girl who is trying to deal with her own trauma in her own way.

What stands out most is the simplicity of the writing - it doesn’t rely on heavy descriptions or unnecessary drama, yet manages to hold your attention till the last page. The author has done a wonderful job exploring how relationships are shaped by secrets and how truth is often twisted for convenience. Every character feels real, flawed, and relatable in their own way. Though the story is short, it makes you question how well we ever truly know the people we love. A compact yet emotionally charged read that lingers long after you finish it.

The story evokes the how people should take responsibility for what they have done, and try to work with the problem and solve even though it hurts their ego. Sometimes we are full of ourselves, which make us to take decision only from our aspect, which may lead to negative ending in some circumstances.
The story starts with simple reunion of friends for a dinner leading to the whole twist end. This short read has its own impact, where we may have heard such a traumatic experiences, hidden within the people suffered themselves.
I loved the way story started with the beautiful background, and the conversation with Sumit and Mitali made the beginning lovely. I felt really irritated with the character of Mitali, so the author has placed the character very well. Sometimes we may misjudge a character in the story; you can find it in the story. The plot is well developed; I loved the Avani character how she accepted the reality and started to handle herself.
I loved the concept of the story, which makes you think in both perspectives and teach you not to take some decisions hastily, the tension within the scenes are really felt.
I felt the emotional depth of the story could be improved; the story and the concept have more emotional content, but it didn’t fully translate through the words.

"Facade" is a beautifully woven tale of love, loss, and the masks we wear to hide our true selves. The story revolves around Mitali and Sumit, a couple living a seemingly perfect life in the hills, until Sumit's ex, Radhika, enters the picture. As the past and present collide, secrets are revealed, and emotions run high. The author's simple yet powerful writing style makes the reader feel like they're right there, experiencing the turmoil alongside the characters.

The beauty of "Facade" lies in its relatability. Who hasn't pretended to be okay when they're actually falling apart? The characters are complex, yet easy to connect with, and the story is both heartbreaking and uplifting. Radhika's emotions are raw and genuine, making her a standout character. The twist had me reeling, but it's the raw emotions and genuine moments that linger long after the story ends. The author's portrayal of human emotions and behavior is spot on, making you wonder if you've been hiding behind a mask too. The story is like a slow-burning fire, simmering with emotions and tension, leaving you breathless and wanting more. With its beautiful prose and thought-provoking themes, "Facade" is a must-read. It's a reminder that sometimes, the hardest thing to face isn't each other, but ourselves.

📖 Facade
Facade may be a short book, but it leaves a long-lasting impact. I picked it up because I was curious about how much emotion a short story could hold and it surprised me.

One of the most striking moments for me was the dinner scene, where Mitali invites her husband Sumit’s ex, Radhika, and her partner, Varun, for what she believes will be a friendly evening. But as the night unfolds, the air grows heavier every conversation carries an undercurrent of things unsaid. When Avani, Sumit’s sister, unknowingly brings up a topic that touches old wounds, the entire table turns silent, and that’s when the truth begins to surface.

My favorite character was Mitali. She’s composed yet fragile, trying to maintain peace even as emotions boil beneath the surface. I admired her quiet strength the way she holds herself together when everything around her begins to crack.
What’s different about Facade is that it explores betrayal beyond the usual sense. It isn’t about cheating; it’s about emotional neglect, guilt, and how people hide behind perfect smiles. The writing feels simple yet haunting you can feel the weight of every word.

If you enjoy emotional, character-driven stories that reveal the hidden layers of love and regret, this one is definitely for you. I’d recommend it to readers who like stories that feel real and make you pause for a moment after the last page

Never imagined that a short book, or the shortest book I have ever read will make me read it twice.
I had to read each line again after finishing because I was NOT expecting what was there!!

There is like literally 4 CHAPTERS, which makes you think about all the possibilities for a reunion going wrong.

The one thing which I loved in this book was POTRAYAL OF HUMAN EMOTIONS AND BEHAVIOUR!!
I never understood why would people brag about things they have with others ( materialistic, money, house, etc..). That concept was beyond my reach but after reading this I guess, they do it to make themselves feel superior to each other.

In the book, the characters indirectly call leopards as merciless species who eat their firstborn cub!! But what about humans?? They endlessly try to control EVERYTHING around them.

Sometimes, the past haunts us in ways which no one can imagine. But if one had rectified themselves in the past, the hauntings are less and the peace which you find later on is priceless.

Highly recommended to the people who love reading short books.

Review:
Sumit and Mitali are a couple living in a villa near hill who are planning for their resort n cottage grand opening in a week, when mitali goes for shopping she sees Radhika and Varun at a jwellery store purchasing rings, so Mitali invites them to her home, as a reunion. When she informs about this to Sumit he is frazzled cause Radhika is his ex and Varun is her fiance, later he calls his sister avani and invites her too.
How will the evening unfold, will it bring the hidden past ??A reunion gone wrong?

My thoughts:
I liked how this book was short but impactful.
The writing style of the author is simple and easy to read.
I wasn't expecting the twists and turns.
I loved how the author has portrayed the relationship between people, how it weaves through Ambition, Betrayal and Hidden Secrets.
This is a small story which revolves around and complex relationships, how truth is modified for your own convience and hide the truth to others.

Sometimes, the most ordinary evenings hold the most unexpected truths and Facade captures that perfectly.

I picked this book because I wanted something short and emotional and ended up reading it in one go. It’s only 31 pages, yet it unfolds like a quiet storm. The tension builds slowly, and before you know it, you’re completely caught in the emotions of Sumit, Mitali, Radhika, Varun, and Avani.

Avani was my favourite the kind of person who smiles through her scars, who makes light jokes to hide heavy feelings. She added warmth to the otherwise intense storyline.

There’s a dinner scene where everyone tries to act normal, but you can feel the cracks forming beneath their smiles. That moment really stood out for me it felt so real.

I’d recommend this to readers who enjoy short emotional fiction with strong relationship dynamics and subtle twists. The only thing I wished for? A few more pages because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to these characters so soon.

Facade is a short book, but it leaves a lasting impact. The story follows Sumit and Mitali, a couple living in the hills, living what seems like a peaceful life.

One day, Mitali meets Radhika—Sumit’s ex—along with her fiancé Varun, and she invites them for dinner. Sumit becomes uncomfortable, and what starts as a friendly reunion soon turns into a night where buried emotions, secrets, and truths come out. Sumit’s sister Avani also joins the dinner at his request, and she plays a crucial role as she sets the stage for the truth to be revealed.

What I loved most is how real this book feels. Radhika’s emotions are raw and genuine, and her character stood out the most for me. The plot twist completely caught me off guard — I didn’t see it coming!

Though the story is short, it’s so engaging that you can’t put it down. The writing is simple, emotional, and easy to read, making Facade a powerful and memorable read.

Finished this book in one sitting and it still hasn’t left my mind !!!! It pulled me in so deeply that it felt like it was just me and the story… nothing else existed for that hour ✨

It follows Sumit & Mitali, a married couple whose peaceful life changes when Mitali meets Radhika, Sumit’s ex and her fiancé Varun. What begins as a casual dinner turns into a tense night filled with emotions, confessions, and long-buried truths.

First of all, the location the author chose is absolutely mind-blowing 🌌 Cozy yet mysterious, adding the perfect suspense vibe.

The writing style keeps you hooked till the end. It's simple and easy to follow. I ACTUALLY finished it within an hour while returning from college!

⭐ I was so consumed while reading that it felt like it was just me and the book. It left me questioning human nature, how people build different versions of themselves just to use others in their lives. It’s scary how real that felt 😶

Among all the characters,

✿ Avani stands out for her quiet strength. She’s someone who never sugarcoats the truth and that’s what I truly loved about her 🌷

✿ Varun’s calm nature and quiet support for Radhika really made me smile. He never questioned anything..he just stood by her. You might think his character isn’t that important, but trust me, without him, we wouldn’t truly understand Radhika’s situation!

✿ and honestly I truly felt bad for Mitali. She had no idea about the mystery she was drawn into.

⭐ Waiting for me to talk about Sumit?
Well, I’m not going to say much. Personally, I think what he did was wrong. But I’ll leave it to you to decide.

It's Short, emotional, and thought-provoking. It'll definitely stay with you long after the last page. If you love quick reads with depth, emotion, and hidden truths, this one deserves a spot on your TBR! ❤️
