The first edition of TDP was the first book about POTS that I read when I was diagnosed in 2016. The fact that there have been enough advancements in research in the last (almost) 10 years to make a second edition makes me so happy!! Thank you for being the perfect resource for newly diagnosed patients, family members, and clinicians!

This book, I'm told, is print to order, so you order it from the company, then they print it and send it to you. That just means that in all likelihood, you won't be able to just pick it up off a shelf at a store, and instead of having immediate access, it involves a wait period. This also assures that you obtain the most up-to-date edition of the book.

I like that the acknowledgements are at the beginning of the book. I always feel like I have to slog through them, when they're at the end.
I also like how each of the co-authors gets a little introduction at the beginning.
It has a very detailed table of contents, which makes the book easy to navigate.
For the most part, it has information for patients on the left-hand sides and information for clinicians on the right-hand sides of pages. This is an interesting mechanism. It does make it a bit of a challenge to read it cover-to-cover, the way I like to read, but I don't think that is a total con; it's just different.

It would be helpful to have an ebook, since ebooks are easy to manage and are searchable. Maybe there is one, but it was not available to me on Libby.

It covers misdiagnosis in an affirming way. It is easy to understand.

It has citations for the research on which the information in the book is based, and that research isn't just from the authors/contributors.

This book is very affirming and has helpful content to share with patients' families and friends.

While it has some spelling/grammar errors, the overall message is easy to understand and is comprehensively covered.

There is a good section about psychological considerations as well as an interesting section on music therapy.

What I like about this book is that it sticks to evidence-based information, and gives many options for both patients and healthcare providers. It is clear that a lot of thought went into each section. I appreciate the information on the contributors of each section. This is information (the source) that is as valuable as the actual discussion of the medical conditions.

Dysautonomia patients may need to read this book in small bits and rest between bits, maybe pick up some fantasy or something between readings, as it can raise emotions some, which can initiate dysautonomic symptoms.

I will be recommending this book to others who are interested in working with these patient populations.
