What in the actual fuck did I just read????
FULL SPOILERS AHEAD BECAUSE I HAVE TO SPEAK ON IT

Honestly this would have been better if the author made it reverse harem and I HATE reverse harem. Because you’re telling me she gets with his brother immediately after she’s with him? And like no judgement, her and the MMC aren’t even really together yet, she owed him nothing I just personally felt uncomfortable about the fact that it was NEVER brought up again and she was constantly comparing them to one another! Like I was screaming “GIRL HAVE BOTH AT THIS POINT”. Then don’t even get me started on the end. She has sex with the man she thought was dead and used to love right in front of the man she currently loves because it was the only way to get him to leave her… yeah no. Then for 3 years the main couple is apart and she’s just living the life of luxury with her old lover….. until the MMC randomly shows up to save her no that was so dumb and made no sense. Then she keeps a picture of her and the man she lived with all that time in her home and they’re kissing in it and she confessed her love for him on his death bed?!!! Mind you the home she has with her current mans and child????

I- what 😭 this was so good until all the nonsense with Jenkins. The entire ending with him had me wanting to throw my kindle at the nearest wall. This could’ve been a 5 star read up until that, but he just ruined it for me. Personally, if I were Bones I would’ve left Bunny behind at that point.

Leave Me Behind? To cry apparently cause that was an emotional rollercoaster.
I can't believe it took me months to finish this book and it was so imperfectly perfect. Sure, it's not a literary masterpiece. It's dark. It's brutal. It's damn beautiful and made me cry horribly. And that's all I needed to love it.
The characters are complex, full of depth and messed up. I loved them. The chemistry between Bradshaw and Nell just kept getting better page by page, chapter by chapter? And I ate it up. I couldn't stop reading. Nell is such a boss babe, I loved her energy and resilience to push through in a field dominated by men and to be able to protect her heart while soldiering on was admirable to see.
Bradshaw is what you want in a morally grey man, who's got a traumatic story of his own. But boy, he does it so beautifully. To see him grow and turn into the man who loves so furiously was everything to read. The growth was chef's kiss 🤌
Eren though.. I swooned. I claim that man as mine. I don't care how messed up he is, I can fix him. I need an entire book for him cause man's was doing things to me 😩😩
The ending was wild though. I haven't cried like that over a book in a long time and I just hated and loved it at the same time. But I recommend checking the trigger warnings, it's quite a heavy and dark book to read. Either you'll hate it or love it.

I read the book in one go. It was somehow interesting and intense until the last chapters. They ruined the whole story! So the MFC "sacrifice" herself to save the man she loves and his brother - then for the next three years and a half she lives her best life like a queen with her ex, who she doesn't love as much as the MMC but still loves. Then suddenly, whitout even a POV from the MMC to see how he felt and what the hell was he doing for a three and a half years, he appears in the FMC room casually and declares his undying love for her and they start to play with each other despite the fact that they are in danger. After that they run, people close to them die and after all of that, the FMC confess her love to her ex and kidnapper, mourn his death and even put photos of him and her kissing in her home with the MMC and their child. ???????? What the fuck did I just read.

4.5⭐️ I read this in one day!! I absolutely devoured this!! I don’t even know where to start. This was a super spicy dark military romance with some super interesting character dynamics, an intriguing plot, high stakes and an extremely badass FMC! I didn’t expect to go on such an emotional rollercoaster and be ugly crying by the end but here we are 😭. I know some people don’t love the last parts of the book but personally I’m pleasantly surprised to have read something that didn’t feel copy paste, and wasn’t super predictable! It definitely kept me on my toes.

The reason I DNFed: although there are trigger warnings mentioned, but still😭 it was too much. First, FMC meets the MMC and his twin. They are complete strangers, yet she accepts their invitation to the pub. Uhh, girl 😃 seriously, how can you trust them? (Keep in mind she’s in the military but still she accepts the invitation from two strangers 💀).
Second, she gets harassed by the MMC in front of two of her squad members, and she literally gets turned on—GIRL, YOU. ARE. BEING. HARASSED. BY. HIM.💀 WHY ARE YOU GETTING TURNED ON?!???? ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? 😭 BRUH. 😑
Lastly, I can’t even bring myself to explain it because it was SOOOO GROSS. Just know that “hygiene left the chat.” 😃 Ugh— 😭 Knife play was also included in the trigger warnings, which is (personally) a big no for me. There were more triggers mentioned, but after reading those scenes, I couldn't take it anymore, so I DNFed it. 😭🚮
Honestly, I’m not even disappointed—I’m just so frustrated and pissed off. 😑🚮
If this book is on your tbr, I suggest you get rid of it asap. 😭 But who knows, maybe you'll like it (I hope you do). 🤞

Everyone who knows me knows that K.M. Moronova is one of my absolute favorite authors, who has written some of my favorite books that have become so, so meaningful to me.
Unfortunately this is the first one that wasn’t a complete hit for me personally.

⚠This book is very dark, contains gore and extreme bullying. I do recommend checking out Content Warnings before picking this up. ⚠
To be fair to this book I want to mention that I had extremely high expectations for this book.
This is in no sense a bad book, but with those high expectations there were areas that left me wanting more.
It mainly comes down to me not connecting to the main characters. I found the plot and setting intriguing, and it kept me going, but what I’ve loved with other works by Moronova are the broken characters, understanding their trauma, seeing their development and following the emotional side of it.
These characters are in fact broken but they are way more reserved about it. Being a military romance, I should’ve possibly seen that coming, but it made it difficult for me to connect with them emotionally as it came across as more surface level than I was expecting.
This unfortunately also transferred to their relationship. Whilst there definitely were moments I enjoyed between the two of them, I had a hard time following the back and forth between some really hot, steamy moments and the ice cold, mean ones. I'm not new to a bully romance, but with Bones and Bunny I felt like his redemption arc never really balanced out his actions.
I would’ve needed more moments of genuine connection with further depth as it felt like their relationship progressed unnaturally and ultimately appeared insincere to me. It's easy to tell there's sexual tension between the two, but as a reader I had a really hard time to understand when it progressed to love.
The second and last thing that impacted my enjoyment was that I unfortunately quite early on figured out the plot twist. So at times it felt a bit tedious following the main characters in their obliviousness, when I knew the answer to their questions. (If I wasn't a complete overthinker about these sort of things I know this would've blown my mind though lol)
All in all, I'm grateful I read this. The dark military setting, training scenes and team dynamic were so intriguing - and lets not even speak about the stunning art.😭 It was still very much an enjoyable experience and it has opened up my eyes for a new genre of books, even if it didn't fully meet all of my expectations.

K.M. Moronova is an author that writes beautiful books, with stunning language about broken characters in quite dark contexts.
Leave Me Behind is a dark military romance in which we follow Nell(Bunny), Bradshaw(Bones) and the rest of their underground dark ops team. Nell is the last survivor from Riøt Squad after a failed mission two years ago. She’s now being transferred to Malum Squad, in hopes that she can understand where the last mission went wrong and avenge her former teammates.
Malum Squad - Bones in particular - doesn’t make it easy for her, and she has to prove her worth time and time again as they want her off the team. All whilst there’s sexual tension growing between Bones & Bunny after their one night stand days before her joining the team.

This book was literally PERFECT until the very end. It was decent but it kind of made me mad at the same time and idk how to feel about it. Like I’m happy with the end but not at the same time. I don’t want to say why because it will spoil it but yeah.
OVERALL I LOVED THIS, it was dark and sadistic and hot as hell. And I loved the high stakes, and the spice and the everything not so nice. 95% of this book was literally perfection.

Wiecie co po kilku godzinach wracam i zmieniam na 1,5⭐️, nie zasługuje na 2⭐️. To pół dodatkowe jest tylko za to, że Fabric Souls, które czytałam od tej autorki było jeszcze gorsze XD
Do wszystkich którzy twierdzą, że nawet jak ktoś nie lubi dark romansów to ten może ich przekona. Skąd wy do cholery to wzięliście?
Znajdziecie tu niestety wszystko czego właśnie ludzie nie lubią w darkach. Czyli toksycznych bohaterów, krzywdzenie głównej bohaterki, smut co chwilę, sprowadzanie wszystkiego do ruchania, zero emocjonalnego rozwoju relacji, jak coś miało potencjał to niestety zostało sprowadzone ponownie (cóż za niespodzianka) do ruchania.
Do połowy było to w jakiś sposób interesujące, nie DOBRE tylko w jakiś sposób ciekawe.
Ale potem zaczął się taki nonsens…
Militarny dark romans? Jako żona wojskowego to dam wam radę, nie napalajcie się na to militarne bo idzie ten temat tylko wyśmiać w tej książce.
O CO CHODZIŁO Z TYM DZIWNYM MOMENCIE Z BRATEM BLIŹNIAKIEM?? Dlaczego wszystko było sprowadzane do ruchania.
Enemies to lovers? GDZIE? Po dosłownie 1/4 książki Bones stwierdził, że nie zniósł by straty tej dziewczyny. AHA.
W którym momencie oni nagle zmienili zdanie? Bo też nie było momentu w którym bohaterowie jakoś dojrzeli do zmiany zdania, to po prostu się stało i tyle. Nie ma żadnego rozwijająca tej relacji.
Co za strata potencjału w ogóle. Przecież to miało taki dobry podkład od nienawiści, ale przymus ufania sobie i chronienia się nawzajem na misjach, jakieś tajemnice z przeszłości do ujawnienia ale co? Jebać to wszystko przecież RUCHANIE musi być. Jebać jakieś emocjonalne podejście do relacji bohaterów.
Ten nonsens do którego przeszliśmy od momentu jak zaczęła się ta misja? Co to kurwa było?
Chaos, wszystko co chwila wybuchało (przepraszam ale jakieś bomby czy pociski wybuchały obok nich, drzewa zamieniały się w drzazgi ale oni to przeżyli XDDDDD), wszystko zostało zrzucane na raz, w pewnym momencie już nie wiedziałam o co im chodzi, przeciwko komu w ogóle jesteśmy?
Nie zapomnijmy o momencie jak są na misji, chowają się w bunkrze z którego muszą uciekać ale HEJ PRZECIEŻ MUSIMY WRZUCIĆ KOLEJNE RUCHANIEEEEE! Serio?
Ten cały plot twist na koniec był tak absurdalny 🥲 w tamtym momencie już nie miałam siły do tego.
Kurwa powrót z zaświatów, tamtych wypuścili bo ona tak poprosiła, nagły skok w czasie, ten ratunek i oczywiście na koniec musi być trochę smutno to zabijmy jakichś nic nieznaczących drugoplanowych bohaterów i essa kończymy.
KURWA EPILOG Z DZIECIAKIEM TO JEST JAKIŚ ŻART.
Ta autorka ma jakieś ciągoty do absurdów w swoich książkach, jakoś się łudziłam że to Fabric Souls było odklejone, ale nie, najwidoczniej każda jej książka tak ma i tyle.

Jak ten początek był jakoś interesujący i dał nadzieję że no może nie będzie to jakieś top, ale chociaż spoko, to niestety ale wszystko zostało stracone.
O i jeszcze jedno! Tłumaczenie to jakiś żart.
Przetłumaczenie dark forces na cichociemni to jest kurwa policzek dla polskiej historii, a tłumacz powinien się mocno uderzyć w łeb.
Pseudonim który nadano bohaterce był raz tłumaczony a raz nie i dostawaliśmy na zmianę króliczek i bunny (jaki był w ogóle powód tego?).
Albo że oni są od mokrej roboty? Chodziło wam o brudną robotę? Bo tak się właśnie mówi.
Oczywiście zjebana fabuła nie jest winą tłumaczenia, ale to jeszcze tylko dokłada tej książce.

Znajdziecie tu niestety wszystko czego właśnie ludzie nie lubią w darkach. Czyli toksycznych bohaterów, krzywdzenie głównej bohaterki, smut co chwilę, sprowadzanie wszystkiego do ruchania, zero emocjonalnego rozwoju relacji, jak coś miało potencjał to niestety zostało sprowadzone ponownie (cóż za niespodzianka) do ruchania.
Do połowy było to w jakiś sposób interesujące, nie DOBRE tylko w jakiś sposób ciekawe.
Ale potem zaczął się taki nonsens…
Militarny dark romans? Jako żona wojskowego to dam wam radę, nie napalajcie się na to militarne bo idzie ten temat tylko wyśmiać w tej książce.
O CO CHODZIŁO Z TYM DZIWNYM MOMENCIE Z BRATEM BLIŹNIAKIEM?? Dlaczego wszystko było sprowadzane do ruchania.
Enemies to lovers? GDZIE? Po dosłownie 1/4 książki Bones stwierdził, że nie zniósł by straty tej dziewczyny. AHA.
W którym momencie oni nagle zmienili zdanie? Bo też nie było momentu w którym bohaterowie jakoś dojrzeli do zmiany zdania, to po prostu się stało i tyle. Nie ma żadnego rozwijająca tej relacji.
Co za strata potencjału w ogóle. Przecież to miało taki dobry podkład od nienawiści, ale przymus ufania sobie i chronienia się nawzajem na misjach, jakieś tajemnice z przeszłości do ujawnienia ale co? Jebać to wszystko przecież RUCHANIE musi być. Jebać jakieś emocjonalne podejście do relacji bohaterów.
Ten nonsens do którego przeszliśmy od momentu jak zaczęła się ta misja? Co to kurwa było?
Chaos, wszystko co chwila wybuchało (przepraszam ale jakieś bomby czy pociski wybuchały obok nich, drzewa zamieniały się w drzazgi ale oni to przeżyli XDDDDD), wszystko zostało zrzucane na raz, w pewnym momencie już nie wiedziałam o co im chodzi, przeciwko komu w ogóle jesteśmy?
Nie zapomnijmy o momencie jak są na misji, chowają się w bunkrze z którego muszą uciekać ale HEJ PRZECIEŻ MUSIMY WRZUCIĆ KOLEJNE RUCHANIEEEEE! Serio?
Ten cały plot twist na koniec był tak absurdalny 🥲 w tamtym momencie już nie miałam siły do tego.
Kurwa powrót z zaświatów, tamtych wypuścili bo ona tak poprosiła, nagły skok w czasie, ten ratunek i oczywiście na koniec musi być trochę smutno to zabijmy jakichś nic nieznaczących drugoplanowych bohaterów i essa kończymy.
KURWA EPILOG Z DZIECIAKIEM TO JEST JAKIŚ ŻART.
Ta autorka ma jakieś ciągoty do absurdów w swoich książkach, jakoś się łudziłam że to Fabric Souls było odklejone, ale nie, najwidoczniej każda jej książka tak ma i tyle.
No ludzie co to była za końcówka?
Jak ten początek był jakoś interesujący i dał nadzieję że no może nie będzie to jakieś top, ale chociaż spoko, to niestety ale wszystko zostało stracone.
O i jeszcze jedno! Tłumaczenie to jakiś żart.
Przetłumaczenie dark forces na cichociemni to jest kurwa policzek dla polskiej historii, a tłumacz powinien się mocno uderzyć w łeb.
Pseudonim który nadano bohaterce był raz tłumaczony a raz nie i dostawaliśmy na zmianę króliczek i bunny (jaki był w ogóle powód tego?).
Albo że oni są od mokrej roboty? Chodziło wam o brudną robotę? Bo tak się właśnie mówi.
Oczywiście zjebana fabuła nie jest winą tłumaczenia, ale to jeszcze tylko dokłada tej książce.

Honestly I'm very conflicted with this book so if this review is a little crazy don’t be surprised😭
main thoughts:
While this book was easy to read and entertaining at times. It was also not as good as it could have been and was quite frankly a disappointment and not what I was expecting tbh🥲 I was curious to read this book because of the military setting and while I did enjoy that aspect of this book everything else was kinda like whatever😃 I will admit that I was enjoying this book for the most part until chapter 18 rolled around cause that chapter was not fucking it and had me considering dnfing, but I'm stubborn cause I kept on reading and I was hoping the ending was worth it, was it? NOPE the ending was very confusing and the time jumps towards the end also just felt very random idek anymore.
The ending was not satisfying and like what was that two page epilogue? We didn't get much answers. This whole book is giving more vibes than plot. I will admit there were some good actions scenes and scenes I did enjoy reading, but not enough that anything was life changing for me. This book is definitely crazy and unhinged and certainty not for everyone just so you know.
also as far as this being a bully romance, it was, but i was expecting it to be a lot worse, but the fact that he didn't hate her until he found out who she was like I just don't get it, I don’t😅

well, this book was kinda mid, not gonna lie 👀 the problem is definitely ME because my expectations were sky high -especially after seeing all those one-star reviews about how dark it is. I was expecting something sharper, maybe even Haunting Adeline-level twisted, but the result felt like a lot of wasted potential to me 🙂↕️
don't get me wrong though, I loved the plot and the 3 stars are mostly for that. while I liked both the mmc and fmc in some ways, I just couldn't get behind their relationship. and no, it's not because of the twisted side (I literally read the book for that 💆🏻♀️) it's because it felt kinda shallow. the chemistry was there, but it just didn't hit the way it should've. this wasn't the enemies-to-lovers dynamic I was hoping for. I would've preferred to feel more hate than fragility, but the mmc, bradshaw was just... kinda soft 🥲 i'm sorry guys, i thought i was getting another Zade Meadows-type of man 😭 don't come for me, but I think jenkins would've been a better mmc for this book. I liked the dynamic between him and Nell more and even their last scene together was the most heartbreaking moment for me 💔

THIS WAS SO GOOD!! I was hooked right from the beginning and this was so different than any other romance book I've read. Nell is a badass 👏👏
I loved seeing this entire story unfold and the hate to love romance between Nell and Bradshaw was UNMATCHED. THIS is top tier bully romance. There are scenes in this that had my jaw on the floor 🔪

October 2, 2025Zdaję sobie sprawę, że szpiedzy goodreadsowi (serdecznie Was pozdrawiam) chętnie zobaczą jakąś ocenę w gwiazdkach, ale powiedzmy sobie prawdę w oczy - ja nie czytam takich powieści, nie mam dla niej porównania, moje rozeznanie w podgatunku dark romansów jest równe zeru.
Czy cierpiałam, jak to czytałam? No momentami bardzo.
Czy dobrze się bawiłam? No fantastycznie, bo robiłam dużo notatek i adnotacji, a to plus rozmowy z bliskimi, którzy również już czytali, sprawia, że doświadczenie nabiera kolorów, mimo tego że sam tekst radości mi nie dawał.
Mogę natomiast odwołać się do opinii osób, które twierdzą, że jeśli się takich dark romansów nie czytuje, to po tej powieści, zacznie się je czytać. No nie wiem, ja nie czuję się w żadnym stopniu przekonana. Raczej potwierdziło się to, że ten rodzaj romansu kompletnie nie jest dla mnie. W wielu powieściach zwracam uwagę na wątki romantyczne, szczególnie takie, które często są związanie z kontrolą, uzależnieniem, niezdrową obsesją (uwielbiam gotycki romans, a tam takie rzeczy są wpisane w konwencję), ale takie ujęcie współczesnego-dark-romansu no to po prostu nie jest moja filiżanka herbaty.

This is the worst book ever. What the fuck was 'the getting off with his twin' scene in the middle of the book? 😭 and also the last few parts were just.... Idk, wasn't for me. I personally really hated this book. Beside the sexual relationship there was no chemistry between the fmc and mmc and fmc just became so annoying towards the end

Military Dark Romance, that’s kinda new to me. I did read a series where they are ex military but not a book where they are actually on duty in s mission.
This book is dark, raw, painful, sad with all the losses and violent. And I loved every second !!!!!!
We have Nell who’s part of the dark forces and she is as lethal as they come, other soldiers dismiss her because she’s a woman till she shows them who they are dealing with and how mistaken they are, she is the reaper and OMG I FUCKING LOVE HER !!!!!! What a fighter, a baddie, a skilled soldier, she is incredible!!!!!
Bradshaw is also part of the black forces and he is known as Bones, him and his twin brother who’s the Sargent, Bones is the most feared soldier in the black forces and he always wears a mask, not even his team knows his face, they don’t know his twin brother is the Sargent. Bradshaw and Nell have a one nightstand without knowing they are going to be partners the next day and when they figure out it’s bad. They instantly become enemies, not as much her but him, he HATES that she is his new partner, he wants her to quit, he will MAKE her quit no matter what. He tortures her, he is HORRIBLE to her, he bullies her and all the other soldiers in the team do too. But she proves time and again that she is the best. No matter what they are not willing to accept her.
The tension between Nell and Bones is EXPLOSIVE, they are HOT and when they have sex they are making hate to each other. OMG 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The plot is crazy good and couldn’t put the book down. She has a past love that she will never forget but she loves Bradshaw more and he also has a past love that he will never forget but not only he is dead but he also loves her wayyyyyy more. I know I am such a hypocrite saying this but I don’t like when the MMC has a past love that he aches for. Idk why but I get so jealous and angry because men have no right to be happy before meeting the women who will be the love of his life, makes me angry because how fucking dare him having a past and having someone he loved before her? 😡 it’s irrational, I know…… The woman can have a past love and history, a life before and i don’t mind, because women CAN !

I'm a little at a loss for words. I went in blind, and probably had a different idea of what this book was about. I loved everything about this book apart from the smut, which I get had to be in there to craft that overwhelming bond between Nell and Bones, I get it! But save grace for clicking on my Kindle to skip as I like mild smut, I was hooked to see how it all turned out. It had great flow and amazing character building. There's a lot to this book, and going in open minded will pay off for that heartfelt ending.

I am a little conflicted writing this review, but let me start off with the characters. Nell is a total badass and totally makes me want to be an assassin, and Bradshaw has so many red flags but I don't even care one bit 😜 the bully romance was written well, and the spice was definitely spicing! I also enjoyed the military setting. It was a change of pace from all the romance books out there.
The issue is that the book started to lose me in the last 25%. After all the big plot twists, I didn't like the direction the story took, and I found myself skimming to the end. It was a 5 star read for me up to that point, but I was a bit disappointed after that :/
Would I read this again? If so, it's only for Bradshaw 💕
