The Magda Line: Templars and What Truly Makes America Great

Rate this book
Like many Americans, historian Cameron Thorne does not agree with the politics of the sitting president. Unlike many Americans, he has the chance to save the president's life. The situation becomes even more complicated when members of the administration attack his family over explosive research revealing that both Jesus and the Knights Templar would have recoiled at the patriarchal policies of the conservative right.

Cam knows he should do the right thing. The problem is figuring out just what that is.

Not recommended for readers with conservative political beliefs.

Based on actual historical sources, and illustrated.

Publishers Weekly says of the author, "BRODY DOES A TERRIFIC JOB OF WRAPPING HIS RESEARCH IN A FAST-PACED THRILL RIDE."

This is a stand-alone novel with recurring characters. The books in this series can be read in any order.

For this novel, Brody has set it in today’s turbulent times; however, let’s first delve a little deeper into this fast-paced novel before returning to current events. There are many concepts that beautifully converge as a historical fiction adventure: Knights Templar, Cathars, Mary Magdalene, John the Baptist, Martha, The Sacred Feminine, the church, and high mysticism. Now I’ll add assassination, ICE, vandalism, fascism, ecclesiastical dogma, antisemitism, equality, and visions. How are all of these elements masterfully woven into a spell binding novel soliloquy that speaks true today? Fascinating, terrifying, and yet truth is truth. So let it sink in and embrace it. “When in doubt, listen to your heart.” “Will I ever see you again?” “Not in this life. But yes, we will eventually be reunited in the divine realm.” Enjoy!

I have bought and read every single book in the Templars in America series and have really enjoyed them until now. In some of his past books I have seen his democratic leanings but felt everyone has their right to their own opinions. However, in this book I was absolutely appalled at his tremendous hatred of our president. I truly believe he has TDS (Trump derangement syndrome) and has no rational thoughts. After reading this book I can never read another one of his books

Done with this series

This started as a great series, actually made one want to dive deeper into the subjects brought forward. Sadly it has devolved into communist lemming propaganda, full of lies and clearly evident the writer has a serious case of TDS. Would not finish this one, and will not attempt any further additions.

A disappointment. Not worth the purchase.

Brody's books have lost their way in the last 2-3 releases. Apparently the desire to emphasize his wicked politics has overwhelmed his writing ability. Sadly this book, and his spin on "fiction" fails to match up to his first 18 releases. Goodbye David, you kept me interested and wanting for more for years, but no longer.

Thank you, Mr. Brody, for writing this book. I hope you don’t get in trouble with Trump or his minions over it. It’s really sad that our beloved country has become so divided with hate.
Beyond the political subject, I also liked the religious debate.

More political rhetoric than story-telling.

The story is insightful and does a wonderful job of painting the bleak picture that is America today, but it lacks the depth of previous novels.
