Widow Susanna Zook returns to her Amish community after ten years away, hoping to start fresh with her two young daughters and her late aunt's jam recipes. But on her very first day, a devastating fire destroys her neighbor's workshop—and that neighbor is Joshua King, the man she's loved since she was fourteen years old.
Joshua has spent a decade alone, nursing a broken heart after being told the woman he wanted to court had no interest in him. When Susanna offers him space in her barn to continue his furniture-making business, he can't refuse. Working side by side, old feelings resurface, but both are guarded by years of hurt and misunderstanding.
As they race to complete an important commission before Christmas, Susanna and Joshua discover the truth about the past—and the lies that kept them apart. Her father's well-meaning interference cost them ten years they can never get back. Now, with the whole community watching and Susanna's daughters growing attached to Joshua, they must decide if they're brave enough to reach for the love they thought they'd lost forever.
A heartwarming Amish Christmas romance about love that endures, faith that sustains, and the courage to choose happiness.
A story full of so much love. But lies that were told held for ten years and hearts were broken. When Susanna aunt passed she left all her jam recipes and equipment for making the jams she went back home to where her parents lived and bought the old Millers place too raise her daughters. This was a book you couldn't put down I read it in a couple of hours. I recommend this book. Hannah Miller writes wonderful books I loved everyone I've read by this author.
A sweet Christmmas read. Suzanne returns to her hometown ten years after leaving for Ohio and marrying there. On her first day back, her eldest daughter notices a fire on the neighboring farm. Suzanne runs to help and comes face to face with Joshua, the reason she left a decade ago. Read about how she tries to put her life back together, her father's confession, and if love has a second chance.
I recommend this book and story. The author has made a great story. This story starts out with a amish widow and her two girls. They move back where the widow grew up. What will their journey be? You must read.
