My Apocalypse Mountain Man: An Instalove Romance

Rate this book
SIERRA

I'm trapped alone at an outpost, radio network failing, supplies gone. A herd of two hundred zombies is forty-eight hours away, and my only chance is North Ridge, where the mysterious radio man Tracker went silent days ago.

But, he’s my only hope. His voice kept me sane for eighteen months. Now I'm dying in his front yard.

KOLE

Three years of isolation taught me that survival means staying alone. Then Goldfinch aka Sierra collapses twenty feet from my door, half-frozen, running from a zombie herd that'll kill us both.

Sierra built the radio network that connected us all. She's brilliant, stubborn, and her presence is destroying every rule I made about staying isolated. But when the undead surround us, isolation isn't an option anymore.

Together we might survive. Apart, we're already dead.

-

The Wild Apocalypse Protectors series features swoon-worthy, spicy romances in a world rebuilt by survivors brave enough to choose connection over isolation. When the dead walk and civilization crumbles, these mountain men discover that the biggest risk isn't the undead, it's opening your heart to someone worth surviving for.

⭐⭐⭐
3 stars.

➕ What I liked :

Rather imaginative and unique setting/situation or set-up for a Post Apocalyptic/Zombie/survival romance with both main characters operating radio towers and being beacons of information and giving survivors warnings etc. and being helpful in other ways to the survivors/settlements through and with those radio towers.

The action and zombie part is rather well done and interesting.

➖ What I disliked:

Even for a novella/short story everything is super rushed and the story is just too short.

Yes, it is marked as a insta-love romance … but this is super insta-love and super insta-lust...
everything is just way too rushed and way too OTT… and the romance and steam is just so misplaced and out of nowhere and the pacing is just off.

The little romance there was in the story is just so out of nowhere and how the hero worshiped the heroine from the start in a very OTT way for no reason really...Yes they had radio contact with each other for 18 months… but he does not know her at all except for that radio contact and that she is good a fixing radios and electrical stuff etc.

The main characters need more depth and backstory … because even if the story is a very short novella and insta-love romance everything was just so thin and surface-level and rushed.

The steam/sex scenes are lackluster and rushed.

The action part and the romance part don't merge/blend well together so the quick shift from one to the other makes everything jarring and strange but also jumbled and kind of like two totally different stories are forced together or something.

Kind of vague character description of both the main characters… especially about the heroine.
There is a little more info about the hero… and that is on the formulaic side of things (muscular etc.)

Maybe 2.5 stars

I thought the setup to this story was pretty unique for a post-apocalyptic romance. The both operated radio towers to help bring information to other settlements during the zombie outbreak. She had to leave her post because of a snow storm and zombie hoard coming her way. The story lost me when her and Kole met up. He worshipped her a bit too much for me. He thrusted her up on the highest pedestal possible and she loved it. It was a bit hard for me to love the romance because he seemed so gone for her. Unfortunately, their relationship dragged down the story for me.

Sierra and Kole

MY APOCALYPSE MOUNTAIN MAN is Book 1 of the Wild Apocalypse Protectors series. It's a short and steamy, OTT, forced-proximity, girl gets her mountain man apocalypse romance. Sierra is a tech expert who has been coordinating communications during the apocalypse. Kole is a hunky, reclusive, ex-military man who has been isolated for 3 years. When Sierra has to abandon her post, she heads to Kole's place. Both have been drawn to each other but have never met. She stays with him and both realize they don't want to be apart. This couple had great chemistry and we got a wonderful HEA.

’Nos quedamos allí, en la creciente oscuridad, rodeados de muerte, pero muy vivos. No es solo que hayamos sobrevivido juntos. Es que ninguno de los dos puede imaginar sobrevivir sin el otro ahora.’

My Apocalypse Mountain Man de Celia Skye Serie Wild Apocalypse Protectors libro 1

Argumento:

Sierra

When the world ends, survival isn’t just about food or weapons—it’s about connection. And in My Apocalypse Mountain Man, Celia Skye gives us one of the most achingly human stories to come out of the ashes.

Sierra has spent months keeping the fragile thread of communication alive for what remains of humanity. Her radio network is the only beacon of hope cutting through the static of a dead world. When her team evacuates ahead of a deadly storm, Sierra stays behind to make sure others can still reach safety. But her calculations are off. The storm closes in faster than expected—and with it comes something worse: a horde of the undead, driven down from the mountains and straight toward her outpost.

Low on supplies and running out of time, Sierra has only one option left—North Ridge. That’s where Tracker is, the man whose voice has been her lifeline for eighteen months. The man she’s never met, but knows better than anyone.

Kole “Tracker” has learned the hard way that survival means isolation. Three years of solitude taught him to avoid attachments—until Sierra collapses twenty feet from his door, half-frozen and being hunted by death itself.

Celia Skye balances tension and tenderness with a deft hand. The danger feels real, the silence deafening, and every whispered word between Sierra and Kole feels like a heartbeat in the dark. This isn’t just a romance—it’s a resurrection. A reminder that even at the end of the world, love finds a way to transmit through the noise.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you crave emotional apocalypse romance with grit, survival, and a spark that refuses to die—this one will stay with you long after the static fades.

'The apocalypse gave us each other.
Everything else is just details.'

I loved the concept of this book- mixing a mountain man romance with a zombie apocalypse survival story. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Sierra and Cole. This story was fast-paced and suspenseful from the start as Sierra's only chance at surviving an incoming zombie herd is escaping to Cole's North Ridge through the storm. I loved that this story focused more on them working together to survive- and falling in love in the process- rather than it simply being the love-at-first-sight obsession usually in mountain man romances with the zombies as an exciting background threat.

This is the first story I've read by this author and I'm excited to read more and continue this series. 5 stars

My Apocalypse Mountain Man by Celia Skye was such a fun twist on the classic mountain man insta-love trope! It’s an apocalyptic romance—with zombies, no less—and somehow still manages to pack in heat, humor, and heart.

It’s a quick read that mixes survival, danger, and a surprising amount of spice. I loved watching these two find love when the world had basically fallen apart. And of course, even with zombies running around, we still get that satisfying HEA. Fast-paced, flirty, and a perfect pick if you like your romance with a side of chaos!.

I absolutely loved this new series! It's completely different from what I usually read, and it will keep you hooked until the very end. In this post-apocalyptic world, Sierra is part of a small network of people who rely on each other to survive against the roaming zombie hordes. Kole is also part of the network, and now he and Sierra finally meet. There's nothing like bonding while fighting the zombies. This is a fantastic escape read with plenty of zombie action and some steamy moments. Highly recommend!

Fun Zombie apocalypse romance

🔥🧟‍♂️ 4 stars for My Apocalypse Mountain Man by My Apocalypse Mountain Man by Celia Skye

This was such a fun, quick apocalyptic romance read!
Zombies ✔️
Action ✔️
Protective mountain man ✔️
A little spice and romance ✔️

I flew through this one. The survival aspect mixed with the growing connection between Tracker and Sierra kept me turning pages. It had that perfect blend of danger, tension, and emotional moments without taking itself too seriously.

If you love short post-apocalyptic romances with zombie hordes, rugged protectors, forced proximity, and characters fighting to survive together, definitely add this one to your TBR. 🖤🔥

This was a very short insta-love set during the zombie apocalypse. Sierra and Kole meet under threatening circumstances and find they have a natural chemistry. I would have liked a little more background on the characters, and the spicy scenes were just meh. I have to commend the author for actually writing a story and not just a few connected spicy scenes, though I do wish the story had been just a bit longer. It’s a quick, action-packed read with a bit of spice.

Sierra and Kole
An apocalyptic romance story. Instalove, lumbarjack mountain man, forced proximity, steamy, survival, and HEA for the couple.
Sierra stays behind as her group evacuates a head of a storm to make sure they get to saftey. She's trapped with little supplies so she makes a trip to the nearest survivor, Kole. Kole finds Sierra nearly frozen near his home. He brings her in and keeps her protected.

This is a zombie apocalypse that is short and steamy. Sierra and Kole have been communicating with each other from places via radio. With the coming storm and zombie hoard, Sierra makes the decision to go to Kole. The pair have an instant attraction, they will need to work together to deal with the elements and the zombies.

An enjoyable read, looking forward to the others in the series.

Apocalyptic love!!!

I have a real affinity for mountain men books, but this one fed my need for an apocalyptic version.

Kole and Sierra are two halves of a whole, and finding each other through the odds is not just happenstance but written in the stars.

Great balance of action and fighting alongside the romance and heat. They "knew" of each other for a long time before meeting in person which helps make this not an "adrenaline" or "convenience" romance but a "finally meeting" one.

The beginning of rebuilding society one community at a time

Apocalypse happens, rebuilding can start slowly. Zombies to fight, raiders to stop.
Trust is slowly rebuilding. Radio community starts growing.
Survivors come together building society it's a start...but will take time.

I'm not necessarily into "Apocalypse" or "Zombie" genres. But I really like a well written, character driven story in almost any genre. And this story had great characters, well written action, and a bit of spice to keep it grounded.

zombies & bad guys.

A fantastic love story mixed in with the zombie apocalypse add in bad group using zombies, as weapons, and people in communities working in a group to organize and stay safe. Like the way, it was written with lots of story with love and some sex added on.

cool premise, start of interesting characters

Unfortunately the romance and spice don’t fit, feel uncharacteristic and poorly paced in the context of everything else, especially since this is so short

🌶️🌶️

It was okay for a short read. I honestly felt like it could have been longer. I kind of thought Kole's commanding officer would end up being the leader of the Iron Wolves. There was a lot of Kole repeating that he was alone for 3 years and convinced isolation was the only way to survive. It got annoying. The sex scenes were very short.
