I picked this book up with the intention of reading a couple of pages before starting it after my current read, but it completely consumed me and I couldn’t put it down.

The author has a way of writing that’s so raw and honest, nothing felt forced or dramatic, the tone always felt quiet, intimate and so fragile.
I won’t spoil anything but there are moments that completely shattered me. I had to stop reading because I couldn’t see through the tears. It takes a very special book to draw that emotion!
The story of Roman and Sola felt so real. Two people both carrying scars from their pasts, trying to navigate loss, pain and rejection. Roman with a mum who’s never around and a dad who barely recognises him. Sola never really knowing her parents growing up in the care system. I felt the weight of everything they had been through. When they meet what follows is the most beautiful relationship. This is not a fluffy love story, it’s emotional, deep and so moving.
One of my favourite touches is the poetry at the start of the chapters. It made the reading experience feel even more personal and poetic setting the mood perfectly.

If you are looking for a story that will make you smile, cry and stay with you long after you finish, I wholeheartedly recommend In Memory Of Loving.

💙It’s devastatingly beautiful and truly unforgettable💙

I have loved watching Allthingsiwishi and the writing journey that she has been on. It was an absolute pleasure to be able to read this book early in its publication. My heart…it was not prepared for the raw emotions that were thrown at it in every chapter.

This book follows the story of Roman and Sola, two individuals who meet by chance one night on the beach. So different and yet with such similar pain and emotions, life throws them together and soon they cannot live without each other.
This was a story of life, the day to day, the little hurdles and hiccups. But more than that, this was the story of how life can throw everything it can at you and yet it is through friends and our support network that we can get through and continue on.
I was blown away with the description of the onslaught of emotions that impacted both of these characters. Both with challenging circumstances, but in totally different ways, both feeling empty, alone and without hope. But together, experiencing the little joys in life, they found love and happiness.

I was not expecting the twists in parts of this story and found parts so emotionally raw and heavy, I had to take my time with it but this is a real, emotionally charged and beautifully written book.

There was something so different in this book to my usual reads. A genuine upfront rawness enveloping each character on screen. I found myself connecting to the truth in the author's words, they writing with an emotional connection that really draws out your own feelings to parallel alongside the characters. Sola and Roman are two characters with heavy pasts and their own lurking shadows. I think there's definitely parts of them that have me reflecting on myself and the people around me.

I also think this book serves as a great conveyor of mental health and the silent battles everyone fights. There's a level of unpredictability when going between the character perspectives that has you on edge. Leading me to the pinnacle top and leaving me feeling bittersweet over the story that was told.

Finding the right person in hard times can change the coarse of your life and that's what happened with Roman and Sola..

This story is an emotional rollercoaster that draws you in and pulls it every emotion string..

Roman, whose father barely even recognises him and a mother whose never around Sola, having grown up in the system, not really knowing who her parents are, tries to navigate the pain, loss and rejection they're both feeling.

Their journey is raw and real and once they find each other, something exceptionally beautiful develops. I love and care that runs deep, recognition of shared pain and loss and support for one another that it's truly heartwarming and wholesome.

Oh wow!! At first I thought this book may not be for me but I continued on, and I’m glad I got to see the beautiful story of Roman and Sola!! To see them both hold heavy pasts but find each other in the right moment and be what each other needs without knowing it, it’s a love story that’s bittersweet and it’s so worth the read.
