Noooooo 😩 I don’t want this series to end! This series has truly been the highlight of my year! The way it quickly became my hyperfixation. The crack I needed to survive. Every book got better and better and this was a fictional found family I never want to let go. So like what do I do now that it’s over? Like my crack dealer is no longer dealing my crack. So what am I going to do with myself?
Seriously, Jennifer. I truly don’t know what you have put in this series but the way it has me in a chokehold and won't let go. Which let's be honest, I'm not upset about. And what a way to end a series?!?! Jax and Sloane’s story was everything I wanted and so much more. The way these two were teased throughout the series had me feral for their story and it lived up to every single one of my expectations.
Jax has been not so subtly flirted with Sloane throughout the series. And Sloane, that woman couldn't be bothered with his antics. But Jax never let up. Which lead them down the aisle in Vegas one drunken night. Only for Sloane to wake up the next morning and have a total freak out. But what Sloane refused to admit to herself is that she liked Jax's incessant flirting and actually had a thing for her now husband. But the way this man took so much weight off her shoulders and opened his home to her siblings who she is aa guardian to made my heart melt. This is a total Miss Independent meets Mr. Sit TF Down at it's finest.
Ugh I'm still swooning! And I fear I'm never leaving the restaurant. I'm so sad this series has come to an end. Like I'm staring at the wall questioning what to do with my life because there is no moving on from this series I fear. Because like I said, this series is crack and I'm a feen looking for my next hit and Jennifer isn't giving me one 😩
Can we take a moment to talk about the audio? Every single audiobook in this series has been a banger and this one its no exception. The way I never wanted to stop listening to this audiobook. Give Me Tonight is a DUET NARRATION audiobook narrated by Christian Fox and Vanessa Edwin. OMG, the narration was top tier perfection. No freaking notes. They slayed the game.
Jennifer, thank you for giving me a series that gave me life this year. It was everything I didn't know a needed. My love for this series will never fade!
*I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Jennifer Sucevic and Must Love Audio for allowing me the listening pleasure of Give Me Tonight as an ALC in exchange for my honest thoughts, opinions and review.
This book follows Sloane that takes care of her younger siblings. She does everything while also going to college. She is basically burning the wick from both ends and things are about to escalate. Than she goes out to Vegas with her friends to celebrate her birthday and she ends up marrying Jax. Jax is a Hockey player and while Sloane is against the marriage the morning after Jax does give a compelling argument to keep married. It does solve a lot of her current problems. As the time continues Sloane falls hard. Sloane was a very compelling main character. She is trying do do everything and while she is doing a great job, it is not something that is feasible in the long run. I'm very happy that she found that out and accepted the help she was offered. Jax has a bit of a reputation, but nothing is what it seems. He is the best golden retriever boyfriend you can imagine. He sees things before they are asked and he takes such good care of Sloane. Serious, can I have one of those? This was an enjoyable book, but I did had the feeling I've recently read a story that sounded very similar. I'm not throwing around accusations, not at all, it just deterred from the plot of the book. Above this I also found that the whole relationship was to clean. I think a couple of bumps along the road would have added to the story.
Audio book – 5 stars This audio book was narrated by Vanessa Edwin and Christian Fox and they both did an excellent job. I loved listening to their voices bringing these characters to life. They both managed to bring the emotions forward in their voices, and that is something we all love, right?
Absolutely devoured this book/audio! If you haven’t started this series yet, what are you waiting for?! These characters have become some of my all time favorites! After a wild night in Vegas where Sloane can finally let loose, she finds herself at a chapel with Jax….and they decide to get married. And while Jax is all in no matter what, Sloane definitely panics when waking up the next day.
Sloane has been in survival mode caring for her siblings for so long, that she has mixed feelings about asking for and accepting help. But when Jax suggests that they all move in with him to lighten her financial burden since they are married, she’s convinced this will just be temporary. Jax is patient, loving, and so thoughtful with his actions. I love how he embraces her siblings with ease and how they all bring him a sense of family too. He truly is so dang sweet and I loved him so much!
The audio is performed in duet by Vanessa Edwin and Christian Fox - these two were perfect as Sloane & Jax! They both performed and let the emotions of these characters come through perfectly!
What to expect: -Vegas wedding -marriage of convenience -hate to love -slow burn -forced proximity -he falls first -found family -one bed -hockey romance
Big thank you to Jennifer and VPR for letting me read/listen early!
Thank you, Jennifer Sucevic and Valentine PR for this ARC!
What a way to end this series with a couple who has been teased throughout the entire thing! Where do I even begin with Jax and Sloane?!
Jax has been completely enamored with Sloane this entire series, and our girl is the definition of a grumpy cat. Between working full-time at Callie’s bakery, finishing college, and raising her five-year-old brother and twin sixteen-year-old siblings, Sloane has SO much on her shoulders. She’s used to carrying the weight of the world on her own, and letting someone in is not exactly her strong suit.
Enter an accidental Vegas wedding to our very smitten kitten, Jax, who is ALL IN on making this marriage work. He moves Sloane and her siblings into his home and is determined to show her that she doesn’t have to do everything alone. And I absolutely ATE THIS UP!
There was so much more to Jax than we got to see throughout the series, and watching him step up for Sloane and her siblings was everything. Seeing them slowly let their guards down and realize that Jax wasn’t going anywhere was so incredibly sweet. This man had his work cut out for him proving to Sloane that he was here to stay, but he NEVER gave up on her. The patience, the consistency, the way he showed up for all of them? MY HEART.
I had so much fun with this entire series, and I’m genuinely so sad to see it come to an end! But without giving anything away, I am SO excited to see what Jennifer Sucevic is planning next!
I loved the story of Sloane and Jax. I don't want to reveal any spoilers, you really should read this book for yourself. It is so full of love, support, and emotion. After hearing about Sloane's story I wanted her to get her happy ending so badly. She is such a strong woman who was really dealt a difficult hand in life. She certainly has made the best of it for her and her siblings, ultimately at the cost of her own personal happiness. She avoided Jax at all costs. Thankfully he is pretty persistent. I loved the addition of the siblings. They really added to the story and injected another level of emotion and humor when appropriate. I also loved the addition of Catherine, Jax's mom. Things would have turned out very different had she not been a part of the story. This was such a great read.
🏒💍 A spontaneous Vegas wedding, a marriage neither of them planned, and a golden retriever hockey player who falls hard for the woman determined to keep him at arm's length.
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) Spice-meter: 🌶️🌶️☆☆☆ (2/5) Audiobook: 🎧 Duet Series: Chicago Railers Hockey, Book 6 (interconnected standalone) HEA: Yes
Give Me Tonight was such a fun, swoony, and emotional way to wrap up Sloane and Jax's story. I was already excited to get to their book after the glimpses we got in the previous installment, and they turned out to be a fantastic couple to finish this part of the series with.
The chemistry between Sloane and Jax was so much fun. Between the bickering, flirting, forced proximity, and the fact that they're technically married but absolutely not ready to act like it, there was plenty to keep me entertained. I especially loved watching their carefully established boundaries slowly start to crumble as their feelings became harder to ignore.
Sloane is a strong, hardworking FMC who has had to take on adult responsibilities far too early. She's doing everything she can to provide stability for her younger siblings, often putting their needs ahead of her own. Jax, on the other hand, brings that playful, golden retriever energy, but there's so much more to him than the charming hockey player persona. He doesn't just fall for Sloane. He makes room for her and her family, showing her that accepting help doesn't mean sacrificing her independence.
The romance is sweet, funny, and full of swoony moments, with some emotional depth woven throughout. I also enjoyed seeing the other characters again, although Hugh and Evelyn's relationship seems to be going through a bit of a rough patch. Their storyline leaves us with a little teaser that has me wondering whether we're approaching the end of the Railers era, especially with the mention of a new team.
🎧 Narration
Performed in duet by Vanessa Edwin and Christian Fox, and these two were absolutely perfect as Sloane and Jax!
Vanessa Edwin captured Sloane's personality beautifully. She brought out both her strong, determined side and the vulnerability underneath it, while also conveying the exhaustion of someone who has spent so long trying to hold everything together on her own.
Christian Fox was fantastic as Jax. He nailed that playful, carefree, slightly cocky energy, but could also switch into a deeper, more sensual tone when the romantic moments called for it. He made Jax incredibly charming, and I loved how well he portrayed the softer side of a man who was completely falling for Sloane.
Together, their performances brought the chemistry, banter, and emotional moments to life. They were a great match for these characters and made an already enjoyable romance even better.

Final Thoughts
Give Me Tonight was such an enjoyable addition to the Chicago Railers Hockey series. Jennifer Sucevic delivers a fun, romantic, and emotional story with plenty of chemistry, playful banter, and those swoony moments that make hockey romance so addictive.
Sloane and Jax were a great match. I loved that Sloane's independence and strength weren't treated as flaws that needed fixing, but as qualities shaped by the responsibilities she'd carried for so long. Jax gives her the space to be herself while showing her that she doesn't always have to handle everything alone. Watching him make room not just for Sloane, but for her siblings too, was one of my favorite parts of the story.
Their relationship also developed in a way that felt satisfying. The forced proximity and marriage-of-convenience setup created plenty of opportunities for tension and chemistry, while the emotional side of their relationship gave the romance more substance. Jax's playful personality paired so well with Sloane's more guarded nature, and I loved seeing them gradually find their way toward each other.
I'm definitely sad to be leaving the Railers behind, especially after such a lovely story for Sloane and Jax. However, Hugh and Evelyn's ongoing storyline has me curious about what's coming next, and that mention of a new team has me wondering if Jennifer Sucevic has something else up her sleeve.
A fun, swoony, and heartfelt romance, and a lovely way to close out Sloane and Jax's story. Now, Jennifer, are we saying goodbye to the Railers, or are you about to give us another team to obsess over? Because apparently, my hockey romance addiction isn't going anywhere.

Star: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Give Me Tonight was such a fun, emotional and swoony way to finish the Chicago Railers Hockey series, and Jax and Sloane were exactly the kind of pairing I love.
Sloane has spent so much of her life relying on herself and doing whatever she needs to do to keep her family together. She is independent, guarded and not looking for a man to come in and fix things for her, so waking up married to Jax Wilder in Vegas is pretty much her worst nightmare.
Jax, on the other hand, is completely unbothered by the whole situation.
While Sloane is immediately thinking about annulment, Jax is already trying to convince her that maybe staying married is not the worst idea in the world. And when Sloane’s fight for custody of her younger siblings becomes even more complicated, his offer to stay married and give them all some stability suddenly starts making a whole lot more sense.
What I loved most about Jax was how easily he stepped up. He did not just make room for Sloane in his life, he made room for her siblings too. There was no hesitation, no making her feel like they were a burden, and no expectation that she suddenly needed to hand over control of her life. He just wanted to help and prove that he could be someone she could rely on.
Sloane definitely makes him work for it though.
She has spent so long being the person everyone else depends on that accepting help does not come naturally to her, especially from a man like Jax who she initially assumes cannot possibly be serious about any of this. Watching him slowly break through those walls was probably my favourite part of their relationship.
Their chemistry was so good, too. The bickering, flirting, forced proximity and the whole “we are technically married but absolutely not acting like a real married couple” situation made for such a fun build-up, especially once those boundaries started disappearing.
And Jax falling first made it even better. Underneath all that shameless flirting and confidence was a man who genuinely wanted Sloane and her family in his life, and once he decided he was all in, he really was all in.
Vanessa Edwin and Christian Fox were also such a good pairing for the audiobook. Vanessa captured Sloane’s strength and vulnerability beautifully, while Christian gave Jax that perfect mix of cocky, playful and completely gone for her.
Give Me Tonight was sweet, spicy, funny and emotional in all the right places, with plenty of family moments and a hero who quietly proves that sometimes letting someone help carry the weight does not mean giving up your independence.
This is probably the BEST book in the Chicago Railers series I’ve read so far, and I’m officially adding Jax Wilder to my ever-growing list of book boyfriends!
What makes this book so special isn’t just the love, the spice, or the ridiculously gorgeous, hard-abbed man that is Jax. It’s the CARE. The patience. The way he sees what the FMC is going through and recognises not just that she needs help, but that she deserves someone who makes life a little easier for her.
Because sometimes, love isn’t about grand gestures. It’s about easing someone’s burden. Showing them they don’t have to carry everything alone. Being the person they can lean on when the world gets too heavy.
And that, for me, is the heart of this book. ❤️
Jax doesn’t just fall for her. He makes space for her. He shows her that she can let her guard down, that she doesn’t have to do everything herself, and that he can be her safe place to land.
There are a couple of lines in this book that genuinely tug at your heartstrings, and Jennifer has done such a lovely job of capturing the emotional nuances of their relationship. The writing has her signature style, the found-family vibes are everything, and the romance hits all the right spots.
I think it missed that perfect five-star mark by just a bit because the storyline could be a little bit tighter. But this is still one of my absolute favourites in the series so far!
The verdict? A swoony, heart-tugging romance with a hero who understands that loving someone also means showing up for them.
Jax Wilder has officially climbed the book boyfriend charts, and I am NOT complaining. 😏❤️
Rating: Worth a Read Love: ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
If you haven’t started the Chicago Rillers series yet, consider this your sign to pick it up. And if you have? Well, you NEED to meet Jax Wilder. 😉
BADDIESSSSSSS, "Give Me Tonight" by Jennifer Sucevic needs to be added to your TBR before October 22nd release, Jax Wilder absolutely is the reason I devoured this book in 8 hours! 🏒✨ It is the perfect, emotional finale to the Chicago Railers series.
Let’s talk tropes: Jennifer served up an accidental Vegas wedding, forced proximity, marriage of convenience, found family(Jax's Mom is that character that really brought this trope full circle), and the absolute best "he falls first" energy.
The plot kicks off when Sloane—an incredibly strong FMC raising her three younger siblings while juggling college and work—accidentally wakes up in Vegas married to hockey star Jax Wilder. Sloane immediately wants an annulment, but Jax steps up in the biggest way. To help with her complicated custody battle, he convinces her to stay married and literally moves her entire family into his home to provide stability.
The character growth between these two is where this book completely stole my heart. Sloane has spent her whole life guarding herself, terrified of heartbreak, and refusing to let anyone help her. She definitely makes Jax work for her trust! But underneath Jax's confident, cocky facade is a man dealing with his own loneliness and a mother battling cancer, who genuinely just wants to be a safe place for Sloane to land.
Watching Jax patiently break down her walls was easily my favorite part of their relationship. There is zero hesitation from him—he makes room for her siblings without ever making them feel like a burden. Plus, the chemistry is off the charts with their constant bickering and that delicious "technically married but totally not acting like it" tension. Seeing Sloane finally realize that letting Jax help carry her heavy weight does not mean she is giving up is so raw and beautiful.
If you want a sweet, spicy, and hilarious read with the most beautiful found family dynamic, grab this one immediately!
I have been looking forward to this book since the teaser at the end of Keep Me Close….when we got a peek at Sloane and Jax.
This is not a hockey romance. I mean, yeah, it’s a hockey romance, but it is so much more than that. Maybe their backgrounds hit me just right, but Sloane as guardian to her 3 siblings, going to school, making ends meet, carrying it all alone, then seeing Jax alone & wanting more than just the family love and support that he gets from his cancer-battling mom? There’s this sadness and need and wanting more than what they have that just tore at my heart so hard that I was completely invested in this book from the jump!! They’re exactly what the other one needs, and the patient want from Jax while he waited for Sloane to come around and finally fall for her husband was absolutely perfect. And heart wrenching. And SO HOT!!!
I had the opportunity to hear an advanced copy of the audiobook, and the narrators were phenomenal. The male narration from Christian Fox was - to me - so full of emotion of a man wanting someone and something so deeply but restraining himself in order to respect Sloane as well as not scare her away. Vanessa Edwin’s narration was equally compelling, and as someone who usually listens at 1.3-1.5x speed, I was listening at normal speed not wanting to rush these two.
So good Highly recommend All the feels!!!!
This cannot be the end of the Chicago Railers, but I’m going to trust that Jennifer Sucevic has something in the works that’s going to make me fall head over heels for another group of characters the way I fell for this crew! (No pressure LOL!! But am I sensing some more McNichols brother stories in New York with Brooks & Faith!?!?! PLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASE!!!)
Thank you so much to the author and to Valentine PR for the chance to preview this book!
“Forever no longer feels like a looming question mark. Instead, it feels like the beginning of everything I ever wanted.”
Rating ♾️⭐️ 2.5🌶️. I can’t believe this series came to an end and that this was the last book. What a perfect ending to this series this book was. Jax & Sloane finally got their happy ending, this two brought me to tears so many times and I love them so much. They became my fave couple 🥰.
“Somewhere along the way, this stopped being about wanting her. And it became about wanting a life with her.”
Jax this man could not be more perfect, perfect son, good friend and the perfect partner for Sloane and male figure to her little siblings. He is caring, funny, supportive and loves with all his heart. I loved his relationship with mom, I adored how he was with Swayer, Faith and specially Caleb and absolutely obsessed how he was with Sloane.
Sloane is a strong woman caring for her siblings, forced by circumstances to become and responsible adult way to early and she done an wonderful job. She is hard working, studying and raising her siblings always putting everything first before her. She guarded with good reasons and when her wedding to Jax changes things she wants to believe that they are temporary because this way she will not be disappointed and heartbroken when everything ends. What she doesn’t know is that Jax is in for then long haul and her end game.
This two are so perfect for each other and I was rooting for them from first page to be honest I was rooting for them from first glimpse I got on previous books.
I got used to get more of Evelyn & Hugh especially after what happened on Keep Me Close but knowing they will get their novella has me so happy.
Thank you Jennifer Sucevic and Valentine PR for the opportunity to read this amazing story as ARC.
Sloane is raising three siblings while working at Lakeshore Sweets and attending college.
Jax is a hockey player. His mom is fighting cancer, and he has been trying to get Sloane's attention in his usual fun and playful way.
The girl gang surprises Sloane with a trip to Vegas for her birthday and a Railers hockey game. After the game, Sloane and Jax get closer at a club and end up in a chapel, leading to an impulsive decision. Sloane regrets it in the morning, but Jax is committed to making it work and he shows up for her in a big way.
Jax convinces Sloane to move herself and her siblings into his home. While she is determined to make this arrangement temporary, Jax hopes it will become permanent. They both begin to see sides of each other they never really show and it brings them closer. He cares deeply for her siblings and enjoys having them around. He is patient and provides Sloane with a safe place to land when she needs support. However, Sloane struggles with her deepest fears, which threaten to undermine the best thing that has happened to all of them. In the end, they work hard to achieve their happily ever after.
My thoughts: I loved seeing a completely different side of Jax and Sloane that we don't see in previous books. I fell in love with Jax's mom and all the love and kindness she radiated. The found family in this book is a little different in the best way. I'm going to miss this series. I loved the girl group throughout the series.
Audiobook: Duet narration by Christian Fox & Vanessa Edwin I loved how it brought the story to life. You can feel the humor, the romance, and the raw emotions. I loved the duet style too.
I want to thank Jennifer Sucevic and Valentinepr for the ALC.
I received an ARC of this book, and I’m so excited to share my honest review!
The LAST and FINAL book in the Chicago Railers series… and now I just want to start the whole series all over again! The Railers were such a special group, and I’m not just talking about the hot hockey players! The women who stole each book (and these men’s hearts) made this series everything! And this book was NO different! We’ve gotten glimpses of Jax and Sloane throughout the series, and I’ve been waiting to finally get their story!
Sloane has had a lot on her shoulders. Between taking care of her three siblings, going to college, and working at the bakery, she barely has time for herself. Meanwhile, Jax has been completely captivated by Sloane’s beauty, even when she barely gives him the time of day. That is, until Vegas happens! Thanks to a little planning by the ladies, Jax and Sloane find themselves together for a night neither will forget. And when they realize what happened in Vegas might be worth bringing back to Chicago, things start to change. Jax isn’t afraid to be vulnerable or show Sloane just how much she means to him. No other woman has ever stopped him in his tracks quite like she does. And Sloane? She doesn’t *need* someone to take care of her, but with Jax, she finally has a partner. Someone who wants to share the weight she’s been carrying for so long.
Watching Sloane slowly let down the walls she’s built around herself and allow someone to show up for her was so special. She deserves all the love, and Jax is more than ready to give it to her! But it doesn't come without the will they won't they have a happily ever after.
There’s something about reading a book where things work out, the MMC & FMC are together from the start, there’s cuteness, love, loyalty and just overall joy. Top that with a good Hot hockey man, opinionated & cute siblings that make you smile and you’ve got the makings of a perfect romance to brighten your day.
I stumbled upon the previous book on a summer afternoon and listened to it in just a few hours without taking a break. I knew then I needed more and getting to listen to this audiobook was exactly what I needed this week.
Christian Fox is a sweet yet strong lead in Jax. Vanessa Edwin joins in as Sloan and I couldn’t imagine them sounding any better together. Add to that the irresistible Caleb rendition: These two have made the characters come to life in the best way. You can feel all the emotions, the passion, the sweetness. It was a pleasure to listen to & im looking forward to hearing these two again ASAP!
The way Jax shows up for his mother, Sloan and her siblings reminds us all that there are men like him out there & we shouldn’t settle for anything less. The game scene made me cry but I am overly emotional at the min so do with that what you will!
This story warmed my heart, healed a lil part of my soul just by the raw realness of it. If you were to meet a NFL player out there in the wild. Hey you never know! I’m a romance reader & true love is always just around the corner.
Thank you Jennifer for sharing this beautiful couple with us. This audiobook is going on the comfy re reads shelve for whenever I need an extra smile.
Give Me Tonight is the perfect way to end the Chicago Railers Hockey Series. The story of Sloane and Jax has been brewing for a while and the expectation was killing me. It was totally worth the wait. Sloan is a strong, independent, but very lonely woman who relies only on herself to take care of everything and everyone around her and has built walls around her heart to prevent her from being heartbroken again. Jax is the talented hockey player who struggles with pressure and loneliness, while keeping up the façade of the confident man on and off the ice. The way Jax fights to show Sloane how much he cares and how much she means to him, show the true nature of his heart, his intentions and the depth of his love and commitment. Sloane has a hard time letting go and let someone else help and take reigns of her responsibilities, but when Jax starts to break down the walls around her heart, she gets a glimpse of how life can be when you feel supported and protected. Give Me Tonight has it all: a sweet, patient, yet determined MMC, a strong-willed FMC, a lot of chemistry and spice, humour and banter, sense of found family, true friendships, raw emotions, true love and deep connections. Jennifer Sucevic always gives the reader a complete experience, a wonderful plot, strong characters with real life problems, struggles and flaws, but also supporting characters that help and make a difference. This book is beautiful, raw, honest and kind. Thank you for the ARC.
✨ARC REVIEW✨ I’m so sad this series is done but it definitely went out with a bang! Jax has been taken with Sloane since they met but the last thing Sloane has time for is a relationship. Sloane is just trying to keep everything together…working and paying rent, going to school, raising her siblings. She does it all without complaint so when her friends surprise her with a trip to Vegas for her birthday she finally gives in and takes one weekend for herself. Little did she know that weekend would end with her married to the one man who she’s tried to keep at arms length. Jax knows he was always meant to be with Sloane so he doesn’t regrets marrying her but now is his chance to show her that they truly do belong together and life is even greater when they tackle it together.
I really did love these two!! Sloane is holding everything on her shoulders and Jax just instantly steps in and becomes the silent support she needs. He’s so good for her and her siblings and it makes my heart so happy seeing them all settle in to an incredible life together. There’s so much more to Jax than what he portrays. He’s such an incredible protector and you can tell he loves hard. His mom was such a fun element of this story too!! This turned out to be such a beautiful ending to the series and I cannot wait to see what comes next from this world!!
Tropes: ✨Married in Vegas ✨Single Guardian ✨Hockey Romance ✨Forced Proximity ✨Found Family
Send help!! Because I don't know what I'm going to do with myself now that this series is over. The Chicago Railers have had me in a chokehold. This series is so good that I can't pick a favourite so I'm just going to have them all.
Jennifer Sucevic is literally a genius. I've devoured every single one of these books and I just want more and more from her. I'm convinced that even her grocery list is a masterpiece at this point.
Jax and Sloane's story was so tenderly beautiful. I absolutely adore a Vegas wedding trope and this one delivers. It was a lot of fun but also there were real emotions in this book as Sloane had to learn to accept help with looking after her siblings and Jax!! My god this man! He melted my kindle and my wee Scottish heart. He was so caring and easy going. I just wanted to crawl into his arms and have him look after me.
Then we get all our favourite railers and of course Evelyn and Hugh! And the ending of this book. It just wrapped up the series perfectly. And I'm bereft because this series lives rent free in my mind. It's the series that introduced me to this author and it's just top tier.
Yes, you could read this book as a standalone. But do yourself a favour and read all the others. You will not be disappointed. These men are something else. And not just that their women are all great too. Just an all round brilliant hockey series.
Since the beginning of this series I saw Jax as this big golden retriever guy that just was more about fun then serious.... guess don't judge a book by it's cover. He is a golden retriever and does like to have a fun time, but there is just so much more to him than what he shows others.
Sloane has had the weight of the world and her three siblings world on her shoulder for so long. She really takes on everything and has a hard time letting anyone come in to help, because she doesn't trust that the help will be lasting. So when she finally lets her guard down on a birthday trip to Vegas, she has a hard time accepting that the new marriage to the Annoying Puckboy can ever be the thing that saves her and brings her happiness.
Jax and the relationship that he builds with Sawyer, Faith and Caleb really had me falling for him that much more. Jax grew to care for these three as his own family so quick that it made Jax become a top tier book boyfriend.
🎧 Audio 🎧 Duet Narration: Christian Fox & Vanessa Edwin
I loved Christian as Jax. He was able to give him that tone of being light hearted and carefree that I always pictured for Jax, but then also have that deep sensual voice when it counted. Vanessa did such a great job giving Sloane the attitude and also the voice of run down exhaustion that came from Sloane really taking on the world.
I was kindly given an ARC of Give Me Tonight and this was so good! was so excited for Jax and Sloane’s book and this was worth the wait. the writing and storyline was good, I loved Jax and Sloane, they’re such great characters. Sloane is so strong and admirable and hardworking and she’s just the best, she looks after her siblings and is an amazing guardian. her siblings were so fun and cute (especially Caleb, I loved the way he got Jax’s attention when they first met!) Jax was amazing, he was so caring and considerate and just took care of Sloane so well. he was so patient and loved all the kids and I loved seeing them all be one big family and fit in together. the one night in Vegas was so fun, I loved seeing Sloane so free and having fun. the ending was perfect (the group hug had me emotional!) and it was such a great way to end the series! it’s so crazy that I’ve read the whole series and been here from the start and to see it end is so bittersweet but it was a great series. (thank you to Jennifer Sucevic and Valentine PR for the ARC, all opinions are my own) Give Me Tonight releases October 22! 4⭐
I received the opportunity to listen to this ALC for my honest review and want to thank Jennifer Sucevic for that chance. This is a dual narration read by Vanessa Edwin and Christian Fox. I thought both of these narrators did a great job! I absolutely loved how each read their own part throughout the book, it's always better then when a woman tries to talk for the man and vice versa. I loved how they brought the story to life. You can feel the humor, the romance, and the raw emotions. So, I'm late to the game and believe this is the last book in this series but will be going back to listen/read the rest of them as well. Sloane's friends surprise her with a trip to Vegas for her birthday and a Railers hockey game, which is the team Jax happens to play on. After all this and some club time, Sloane and Jax get closer leading to an impulsive decision. While Sloane regrets this impulsive decision, Jax has every intention of making it work. How do things turn out between these two? Read to find out yourself.
Loved! Loved this so much! What a beyond perfect ending this was to this amazing series. A series that never disappointed. A series about hockey players who fell in love and found their happily ever afters. This time we had Sloane and Jax. Jax is a professional hockey player who is tough on the ice and an amazing guy off. Then there is Sloane she has a lot on her plate. A full time job, a part time student and raising her two brothers and her sister on her own. She is extremely overwhelmed. They there is the dynamic between these two. He loves giving her the business and she just rolls her eyes at him. When these two accidentally get married in Vegas. She gets something she has never had…support. This is a well written story about family, loyalty and everything in between. This beautifully written story is also about true friendship and love the kind of love that you truly dream about. These two have sassy banter and perfect chemistry. Best of all he truly embraced her siblings. As this amazing series comes to an end I am Sad but so exciting to see what is coming next.
This is my first book read in the Chicago Railers Hockey series and now I want to fix that. Jax has had it bad for Sloane, but she hasn't really given him the time of day. She has a lot to manage in her life: taking care of her three younger siblings, work, and school. No time for a man. One weekend in Las Vegas where she is to let loose for once and celebrate her birthday turns into a spontaneous wedding between Jax and Sloane.
I love how much Jax was into her-- how he had no problems letting her siblings move into his place. He was all in and such a support for her (and them) and had no problems doing so. I think Jax was a little lonely, too.

Book #6 Chicago Railers Hockey series
Sloane is a single guardian for her siblings, a college student at 27, and working to support her family. That alone is a stressful existence. So, when her friends take her away to blow off some steam Sloane lets loose and get a little crazy. Hanging out with Jax and waking up married in Vegas. Jax is a hot hockey player that has been pining for Sloane. He is all in and he just has to convince Sloane to fall in love with him and make the marriage real.
This series is gold in hockey romances. Jax is a golden retriever MMC and I love how he takes care of Sloane and her siblings. The story is easy to follow and enjoy. Wonderful development of plot and character. Sloane and Jax are adorable together and I love them.
When Jax saw Sloan for the first he was enamoured her less so. Pushing away his flirting, knowing he was playboy hockey star for the Chicago Railers.
A Vegas mistake leads Sloan married to Jax and wanting a divorce but when he says he can help with the custody of her three siblings she is looking after, just like she looks after everyone but herself, she reluctantly agrees. The deal: He will help until the custody is affirmed, of course stay married and move her family into his penthouse. It's temporary! When they enter the penthouse Sloan is stunned Jax has made his penthouse a home, each sibling having a room and he cooks. As they traverse the new home the fake marriage turn real as Jax turns up for them again and again. The interaction with the siblings is lovely and finally Jax manages to show Sloan they should stay married and become a true happy family.
Another great Railer's story.
I received the ARC copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.
I'm such a sucker for Black Cat x Golden Retriever—but Sloane and Jax were E V E R Y T H I N G and I absolutely adored their story. I couldn't get enough of Jax's relationship with her siblings and all of their relationship with his mom. The found family vibes were so strong and it made me so ooey gooey.
There's some third act shenanigans, but Sloane is just so dang broken, I couldn't blame her for her part in it. Jax held on as tight as she'd let him, but he knew when to give her space and when to let her go (thankfully not too far).
Hugh and Evelyn's relationship was a bit rocky in this one, but left on a little mini cliffhanger and it has me wondering if we're reaching the end of the Railers, especially with a new team being mentioned...
The audio was fantastic. Vanessa Edwin and Christian Fox brought these characters to life so perfectly and I loved this DUET narration listen. Thank you so much to Must Love Audio for the advanced copy!
This one was a super sold end for the series. I really enjoyed Sloane’s character (always love a black cat), and I think one of my favorite scenes is between her and Jax’s mom surrounding the idea of letting yourself be open to love after having a “I can do it all on my own” and “I won’t let someone close enough to hurt me” attitude for so long. The relationship Jax builds with Sloane’s siblings is super sweet. And the found family throughout this series really is so well written.
The audio for this—and the entire series—was wonderfully performed. Christian Fox and Vanessa Edwin gave life to Jax and Sloane with emotion that kept me engaged throughout. They are performers I can always count on to deliver, and this was no exception.
Vegas wedding Black cat x golden retriever Forced prox He falls first Slow burn
I can’t believe we’re done with the Chicago Railers. I absolutely devoured this book! I have been anticipating Jax and Sloane's book throughout the whole series. Jax stole my heart and Sloane broke it. These two are definitely golden retriever/black cat. He comes off as this happy go lucky guy when all he wants is to not be lonely. She is holding everything together by a thread and a prayer. She too is lonely even with her having custody of her 3 siblings. The Vegas wedding gave them both different reasons to stick it out. I loved them together! Sloane really made me mad towards the end that I wanted to shake her! I really liked seeing how her girl gang and Jax’s mom always rallied around her and helped her see things she wasn’t willing to open her eyes to. The siblings were a hoot and I can’t wait to possibly see more of them. And we get some Evelyn and High news!
Hockey Romance season is here, well it never really left. But NHL & AHL season has started and I am in the mood for extra hockey romance books. Jennifer Sucevic, the author, has written the perfect book for me. I love when a man falls first and does everything he can to prove he is Mr. Right.
Sloane is taking care of her siblings, which makes her a hero in my eyes. She is used to being on her own and accepting help is not easy. Jax helps, in so many ways, and makes her life easier without stepping on her toes too much. These two are steamy hot with a sweetness that makes me melt.
Give Me Tonight is the perfect sports, hockey romance book. There are fun charaters, a steamy story, and HOCKEY! What more can you ask for?
Thank you Valentine PR for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
I have loved his heartsick throughout this series. All for Sloane.
Sloane. Talk about a good human! She takes her siblings in when her mom flakes. All 3 of them.
She has no extra money, time, or energy. So when her friend set it all up, a birthday trip to Vegas. Found sitters and friends for her siblings to stay with, how can she knows.
Jax. Has always had his eye and heart on Sloane. But she is so guarded due to all those who have abandoned her who should’ve stayed.
His approach to adding Sloane and her siblings to his life was everything. I loved him so much.
This book was fabulous and a sweet way to wrap up this fabulous series! Highly recommend
GIVE ME A REFORMED PLAYBOY WHOSE OBSESSED AND GETS DRUNK MARRIED IN VEGAS TO HIS OBSESSION. Fuck me. Yeah….. Chapter 9 made me a shocked simp. A man who just wants to take care of a woman who has never stopped working and gives her a break. 😭🥲 This book gut punched me. Not only is he a golden retriever, reformed playboy (one of my favourite on the planet) he’s so good to her and her WHOLE family. 😭 All of these characters were lovely human beings and this was a glorious end to this series. The friendships had me laughing my ass off!
I am sad this series is over. It was such a blessing to read. 😭
I read this as an ALC! I would recommend the audio for this! The performance they give is perfection!!! 😊
