Arise: A 50-Day Journey Into the Mystery of the Resurrection

Rate this book
In a world clouded by fear and discouragement, Arise rekindles the Christian’s living hope by leading readers deep into the mystery of the Resurrection. Through fifty powerful meditations rooted in Scripture, this book traces the unfolding of resurrection faith from the Old Testament through Christ’s victory over death, revealing how the same power that raised Jesus is at work in your life today.

Each short chapter includes Scripture references, reflection questions, and a reading plan, making it ideal for daily prayer, retreats, or group study. More than a doctrine to be believed, the Resurrection is presented here as a living reality that calls every soul to stand up, begin again, and live in the light of the Risen Christ.

As a Catholic with degrees in literature, philosophy and library sciences who has just recently started combing the depths of her lifelong faith, I can wholeheartedly say this book is a God send. I appreciate its bite sized approach, which makes my experience inviting but also not overly taxing. I feel it leaves me room to breathe and rest with the concepts introduced, which is necessary with such a richly mined topic in such a wonderfully presented text. I appreciate the references to primary texts included, and the combination of scholarly and reflective tones. I co-lead a women’s book discussion at a local church, and I can see this being a perfect read for really any season. I appreciate what the author has done to bring this topic to her readers in such an approachable manner. I am planning on reading this annually and intend to spend time with the questions included for consideration, which I find deeply meaningful to my own faith to consider.
