It all started one day in March of 2018. I was bored. There was nothing to watch on television. And the moment of silence prompted a memory. A flashback to a time I wrote movies in a notebook. Small scenes jotted down for no particular reason. Something compelled me to make a move. I jumped up and ran to my computer, anxious to tell a story of which I could see clearly. The scenes of my cleverly crafted idea so wildly vivid. A face. A name. And twisted plots that would rival any movie.
I began typing. The keystrokes were fervent. Soon one sentence gave way to twenty. One hundred words grew to seventeen thousand. And before I knew it, I had a short story. Proof that anything is possible. So, you might ask if I always wanted to be a writer? Was it somewhere in the back of my mind? No! It wasn’t. But I knew I was creative. And I knew I could tell a story. The rest is history. Now I can say I wrote a book that became a best seller. Downloaded for many book lovers to read and enjoy. And the journey is still fresh. There is so much more to write. I am just getting started!
Book two was a decent conclusion overall. Tony was definitely a true villain, and I wanted his downfall to feel epic, but it honestly felt rushed and a bit anticlimactic. I expected more from Hawk, especially since it was mentioned how he was so respected in the streets. I felt like his “plan” only came together when he essentially had his back against the wall. But why wasn’t he planning all along? I had hoped for a real storyline showing him building a plan to help Lashan escape and free himself from Tony’s grip.
Lashan made several poor decisions that ultimately got her caught up and back with Tony. The fact that she never truly left Chicago played a big role in her downfall. Her best friend was mentioned throughout the book but then completely disappeared by the end, which felt strange and unfinished or at least during her darker times she should have been mentioned.
Deon, while trying to help his mother Shalene, also made questionable choices. However, he at least confided in his friend, which ended up helping him in the long run.
Overall, I felt there were a few plot holes, and I expected a stronger conclusion — especially considering how much terror Tony caused. His ending deserved a more impactful scene. Still, it was a decent read.
You did it again. Whew the ride on this one!! I never want to delve into specifics when reviewing so new readers don’t see what’s written where they aren’t experiencing it first themselves, BUT these 2 books 🔥🔥 The title seemed suggestive of something else but trust it dove into that and so much deeper as the pages turned! A superb read👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 and I thank you.
I loved both books. It’s a true example of, Never Judge A Book By Its Cover. These books had me all over the place on a roller coaster ride. The power of love is, Priceless. Great Read again.
Truly enjoyed this book series. It held all the drama and plot twist that will keep you on the edge of your seat flipping pages madly. LaShan got on everybody nerves.
This book was so good that I hated one of the main characters and happily finished it through to see what happens to him. Because all the breaks and anger I got from this book. It was worth the read.
I must say you did with these series. It is page turning there wasnt any thing wrong the story on e was crazy Tony got what he desired we treat women so bad he had no l look be in him.
I enjoyed reading the series but the spelling errors were horrible. Then on one page, they were married and on the next page, they were getting married in 4 months. It was difficult to keep up with the flow of things.
After the debacle in book one were back with Tony and his search for lashaun. The way Tony tries to cause so much chaos needed to be studied. I enjoyed the plot twist and the ending was perfect.
This was a really good series, I loved everything about this book, it made me happy, sad, mad, and angry. Tony was pure evil and he go exactly what was coming to him. He hurt so many people power tripping, I’m happy Shay and her sons survived. And omg Rashid is the man, I’m so happy things turned out so differently and him L got married and had a baby, Great read and I will definitely recommend this book.
