A sweeping, slow-burn romance that spans cities, languages, and the fragile lines between duty and desire.
Public relations coordinator Avery Carter has her dream job working for Miami’s pro soccer club. She expects press releases and photo ops—not the magnetic, impossible-to-read heir to the Vega empire. Nicolás Vega is everything she’s been warned about—controlled, powerful, and determined to rebuild his family’s legacy. But from the moment they meet, sparks fly, and neither of them can ignore the pull.
As Avery navigates the high-stakes world of professional sports, she finds herself caught between loyalty, ambition, and the quiet gravity of a man who sees her more clearly than anyone else ever has. Nick has rules, boundaries, and a lifetime of expectations. Avery is the one line he’s never meant to cross.
From Miami’s heat to Madrid’s glittering skyline, Crossing Lines is a story of second chances, found courage, and the love that defies geography, logic, and family legacies.
Perfect for fans of contemporary romance, sports romance, or women’s fiction, this novel delivers slow-burn tension, witty banter, and a love story that lingers long after the final page.
Crossing Lines by Riley Maddox 5 out of 5 stars ARC
Thank you Riley for allowing me to read and review the book! 🥰🥰 You did an amazing job!
What can I say besides that I LOVED it! I felt like I couldn't get enough and refused to put it down. I was so angry that he wasn't chasing after her while also understanding his father's threats (I honestly hated his father until the end). They both needed to do what was best for them, but they needed to be together so badly to do what was best for us readers 😩😩 They also are such great characters. You could tell that even though they kept pushing the other away, they both had great hearts. Either one of them could be my book boyfriend/girlfriend and I would be happy 😍
You will notice that it has some spice in my picture. Let me say that it had a perfect amount of spice that wasn't overdone or felt like too much. It was definitely well-written. Chefs kiss💋🤌❤️🔥
The novel is a perfect length that you could read anywhere. If you can handle reading spice in public, read this on the bus, the plane, in the car, or even in a little coffee shop. Maybe even read it at a soccer game 😉 It is genuinely a great read for any location
If you love a romance novel that keeps you entranced and on your toes, PLEASE read Crossing Lines! I can't wait to see what else Riley writes 😍 So give it a shot and let me know what you think!
"If I kept chasing him, I’d always be chasing his shadow— and never the man who was finally ready to reach for me."
A lovely and quick “forbidden- workplace- sports” romance that captures all of your emotions throughout the story. Although there were several repetitive phrases and words throughout the story, they were very easy to look over. This story warmed my heart so much and I am looking forward to the next book, and see what happens next in the Vega series.
