“I am a cold man, Miss Coleridge. You should leave before you regret this marriage.”
A marriage of convenience was never meant to spark affection but the Duke of Montclaire and Miss Ophelia Coleridge may prove otherwise.
Alexander Deveraux, the reclusive frozen duke, has long shunned society, haunted by solitude and old wounds. To claim his inheritance, he must marry, yet the bride chosen by fate is the daughter of his family’s greatest enemy.
Spirited, witty, and unafraid, Ophelia agrees to a practical union, only to discover a man of unexpected depth behind the icy exterior. As they navigate the demands of the dukedom, family feuds, and society’s watchful eyes, respect and trust slowly blossom into something neither dares to name.
*If you enjoy historical Regency romance with compelling characters and a hint of redemption, “Married to a Frozen Duke” is sure to captivate your heart. This emotional tale of love, hope, and a marriage of convenience promises a captivating journey.
No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a happily ever after.
Another great book by the author. This one was written a little differently with a lot more conversation going back and forth between Ophelia and Alexander rather than just reading storyline information. The conversations made the story interesting, entertaining, and belief that things that look doomed can be fixed. It was a great read.
Five Centuries of Tradition vs. Glorious Chaos This story is hysterical. The ironies are sharp, the drama is humorous, and the poor Duke bears his humiliation with surprising grace. His attempt to reform his new Duchess fails spectacularly as he—and her own family—recoil from the result.
The chaos is bolstered by her spatially challenged brothers, who leave mayhem in their wake, and a Duchess determined to upend five centuries of tradition. The characters are delightful, and the comedy holds firm to the final page. It is a sharp, very British laugh—perfect for those who enjoy watching a man change his view of what is important.
Ophelia & Duke Alexander are tied together by his grandfather’s wishes to unite the two feuding families.. a condition that neither want but must accept. And with her under standing & insight he can do little but try to change which is extremely difficult. When learning she is right he learns that he is falling in love & she with him. And now they need to work together instead of alone…
Ms. Sheldon has outdone herself on this one. The writing is exemplary and the characterizations withstand scrutiny throughout the book. Hero and heroine remain true to themselves and narrowly miss connecting completely. I worried and ached that they might not be able to make it through to their HEA.
I really enjoyed all the dialogue between the two main characters. They are encouraged to marry to end a long feud between their two families. Both had been raised sort of neglected. They have to overcome that plus their different social classes. I enjoyed the story and the HEA.
I enjoyed this much more than my frequent reading of seemingly ghastly matches. I actually laughed out loud a number of times. I recommend this for fans of Regency Romance who enjoy a well written series of skirmishes on the way to HEA.
Good start. Reasonable middle. Enjoyable ending. Not too much wishing and wondering or intense deep thoughts. Fun and clean loving. No reason to blush.
