I've had this on my #tbr for a while but the redesigned cover was the nudge I needed to finally pick it up! Rebecca Jenshak is great at writing college sports romance and this holiday novella duology featuring two twin sisters and their athlete crushes was just the perfect blend of sweet, spicy and festive. The way each story overlaps in complimentary ways was excellent as was the narration by Savannah Peachwood and Robert Hatchet. Highly recommended for a fun, holiday read with cozy, steamy vibes.

Well… well… this definitely IS something. Ever since I read Scoring the Player and met Felix’s twin sisters, I couldn’t wait to see their love and relationship journeys unfold. Thank you, Rebecca Jenshak!!! the redesigned cover was the perfect nudge to finally pick this up, and the brand‑new audiobook release gave me the extra push to dive right in.

Holiday with the Players is a holiday duology set at Valley U—if you alr read Campus Wallflowers, Campus Nights, or Smart Jocks, you must be familiar with this cutesy and endearing universe. It's a quick, festive treat that combines Snowed in with the Player and Sneaking Around with the Player. Featuring twin sisters, their athlete love interests, and all the cozy chaos of college sports romance, these novellas are just over 100 pages each. Light, bingeable, and overlapping in fun, complementary ways, they expand the Valley U world with sweet, seasonal charm.

Snowed in with the Player leans into the brother’s best‑friend trope with a cozy forced‑proximity setup. Holly and Teddy getting snowed in should have been the perfect recipe for tension and chemistry, but the short length leaves some beats feeling rushed or more “told” than shown. The near third‑act breakup toward the end felt unnecessary to me—like, really?! I thought they could have communicated better. Still, Teddy’s gesture to win Holly back helped redeem it, though I wish that moment had lingered longer.

Sneaking Around with the Player flips to the brother’s nemesis trope and adds a long‑distance twist. Much of the relationship develops through phone calls, which slows the spark and reduces face‑to‑face chemistry. The characters sometimes feel a bit juvenile, but the execution of the long‑distance dynamic is more natural than most, and the pacing feels slightly more balanced than the first novella. While it could have benefitted from more on‑page romantic detail, it’s still a cute, quick, and festive slice of Valley U.

What I loved most, though, was the bond between Holly and Stella. The way they’re always there for each other when one is let down is sweet and tender. I was a little skeptical about their character arcs—Holly seemed inexperienced with boys in the first book, yet in the second Stella suddenly became the tentative one, almost like their roles reversed. 👉🏻😭👈🏻 But in the end, that inconsistency didn’t matter as much, because their unwavering support for each other made up for it and gave the duology its heart. Together, the duology blends sweet holiday vibes, sports romance tropes, and found‑family warmth into a cozy seasonal binge that is perfect for readers craving light, fun, and festive chaos. 🎄✨

Major acknowledgement to Savannah Peachwood and Robert Hatchet for nailing the duet narration. Their balance of humor, fun, and tenderness made the stories feel vibrant, and the way each novella overlapped in such complementary ways added to a seamless listening experience.

Though brief, both novellas deliver sweet holiday fun and expand the Valley U world with charm. For readers who enjoy sports romance, sibling dynamics, and seasonal chaos, Holiday with the Players is a delightful seasonal binge that deserves a spot on your TBR pile! 🫵🏻😼

Snowed In With The Player:

If you know me you know I absolutly ADORE Brothers best friend!!!! And this first half of the book was absolutly amazing because of it!!! I could really relate to Holly. Shes a home body, always has to be dragged with others, not feeling seen, reading over going out and a loveee the traditions and doesnt want to skip them or not do them. I also love the bond her and stella have. I loved the sneak peeks ive gotten in felix’s book. And now i finally know that them as a couple is just as sweet amazing as they are when they finally find each other🥹 Teddy is my type of man! Quiet but absolutly gone for HIS hot women. His sweetheart🥹🥹🫠🫠 nothing to add but just that i love these two so much! Its quick but SO worth it!!🫶🏼

Sneaking Around With The Player

The hints I got in Hollys and Teddys book was to DIE for but the real thing is even BETTER!! I did get confused in the middle part but love moves at their oen pace and boy did Beau and Stella love each other. beau is SO funny his texting eith stella made me laugh so much. and their banter was even better.😩 But beau was actually such a sweet man. so hearbroken. and his thoughts where so got wrenching to read sometimes. 🥹 but stella is always saving him. and it was just so sweet tp witness💛 I love these 2 couples so much!!

This was a cute books that consists of two novellas about twin sister who finish their first semester at the beloved Valley U. It does take place before the third book in the Campus Wallflower series. The FMCs in the books are the twin sisters to Felix from that third book. But this was so cute overall. The first book was a brother’s best friend and the second was brother’s nemesis. They are a little over 100 pages each so they aren’t super plot heavy, they are really just a cute holiday read that makes you love the Valley U world even more!

Both novellas were quick, sweet, holiday romance books. Whilst they were fast paced and primarily focused on the romance, I believe both could have benefitted from a few more pages focusing on the characters' feelings a bit more. Rather than showing the romance and chemistry on-page, it felt like we were told about their presence. I would have needed more romantic scenes to be shown and a bit more elaboration on the characters' feelings.

Here is a more detailed review on both novellas.

Snowed in with the Player

Well, this was hard to rate and review. It was a sweet, quick, Christmasy read and I enjoyed it… somewhat. The characters were alright, the story was cute, spiced up with a little forced proximity, but it wasn’t a brilliant read. Of course, it's a short novella and I can understand that you can’t squeeze much into a short story, but while I enjoyed it, I also felt that it was lacking in quite a few places.

Some scenes could have been a bit more detailed. Whilst I understand it was supposed to be a short novella, I believe the story would have benefitted from a day or two extra being added before Teddy and Holly got snowed in and a day or two extra after they were snowed in. It could have provided more tension, more chemistry and that would have made the romance more swoon-worthy or at least would have made me root for them more.

But I couldn’t root for them because I didn’t really feel the chemistry and it led me to feel like it was lacking romance. There was romance, of course, that was the main plot, but I guess because of the short length of the novella, the less detail and description on their feelings, secret touches and lingering looks kind of felt like they weren't really there. As if they were simply touched upon just to have them there and make us believe that we saw little snippets of them. And the miscommunication trope sort of overpowered that little romance we got to experience, which again led to having even less romance.

Overall, it was a sweet little read that I somewhat enjoyed, but with a couple more pages, let’s say 30-50 more at max, it could have been an even sweeter little novella that would’ve enhanced the romance and built on the characters’ feelings. The way it was, it felt like we were told what the characters felt, we weren‘t actually shown. So, because I enjoyed it, but had a few issues with it, Snowed in with the Player got 3/5 stars from me.

Sneaking Around with the Player

It was a quick, sweet and cute holiday romance with alright characters and an okay plot, but nothing that would make me swoon or feel giddy from the excitement.

I basically have to give a very similar review as I have done for the first book. There were scenes that could have been a bit more detailed, especially the romantic parts. Again, we were told how the characters felt, but we weren’t shown so the writing didn’t elaborate on that. There could have been more tension and chemistry if the book focused just an extra 10-20 pages on creating those scenes.

Whilst I kind of liked the characters, even if they felt a bit childish at times, the story didn't really catch my attention. I felt like too much of what was going on happened on the phone. I believe it was almost half the book and it took a bit long for them to meet up which took away the face to face chemistry that would’ve made me believe that indeed there was something loving between them. I get that it was a long distance relationship, but it just took away from the romance. Though I have to say, compared to other books where authors tried to portray long distance relationships, it was kind of well executed.

Even though, I personally felt that the chemistry was a bit lacking, it was more natural in this book than the first one, but it also has to be said that the characters felt a bit more immature in this book than the first one. I’m not sure if the latter is because of the writing style or the characters were just a bit more juvenile.

Overall, it was a sweet little romance and I enjoyed it. I didn't experience a life-changing read, nor did I get disappointed. It was just a cute holiday romance, and it was okay, therefore, Sneaking Around with the Player got 3/5 stars from me.

So far the writing feels a bit strange, like a tad immature.
There’s loads of filling, unnecessary inner monologues that could have been cut.
So far I feel like it’s a bit of a weaker book compared to book 1, however the chemistry between characters feel more natural.
We will see how it goes…

Cute and Cozy

Fast, fun holiday read. Holly and Teddy are almost painfully adorable and Stella and Beau have joust the right amount of football team - crossed lovers.
