Looking back, it was fate, all along.

I was destined to cross paths with the devil—the devil who had the face of an angel, and the cunning of a god.

Or perhaps I’m still a little delirious.

For all I know, our fated meeting had killed me.

Or maybe…

It had brought me to life.

Follow Ava, as she navigates the tumultuous underworld of thieves, revenge, and unholy bonds in the final installment of the Thievery Duology.

LECTURA ARC

Quieres llorar, reír y enojarte junto Ava .

Los personajes masculinos a pesar de ser muy diferentes me encantaron los dos.

Me gustó mucho la historia es de esos libros que no puedes dejar de leer y al terminar no puedes dejar de pensar en ellos .

ARC READ

First, I want to thank the author for allowing me to read the first book and this second one, I would have missed an spectacular story.

At first, I was going to give this book 4 ⭐️ until I thought about it and said, I'm choosing the ending I want and not the one the character wanted, and that made me think about how well-written and well-played this author's characters are. You don't know who to sympathize with in the story because you end up sympathizing with everyone.

This second part didn't lag behind, it's full of plot twists, situations that keep you on edge all the time.

You want to cry, laugh, and get mad along with Ava.

The male characters, despite being very different, I loved them both.

I really liked the story, it's one of those books you can't put down and when you finish, you can't stop thinking about them.

Lost to Thievery by M.J. Winters
ARC Review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️♾️

I am not okay. This book wrecked me, rebuilt me, and then wrecked me all over again—and I loved every second of it. Honestly, this whole series? I’m obsessed. Fully. Unhinged. No coming back.

From page ONE, I was hooked.
“They left nothing behind. Except for me.”
Yeah… that line? Immediate emotional damage.

This book is chaos in the best way—action, betrayal, tension, spice, heartbreak, and twists that had me literally gasping. I was on edge the entire time, and every time I thought I had a grip on what was happening… nope. Gone. Spiraling again.

Ava?? That’s my girl. The way M.J. Winters writes her inner world is INSANE. When she felt anxiety, I felt anxiety. When she spiraled, I spiraled. When she broke? Yeah… same.
There were moments that genuinely hurt to read because of how deeply you feel her pain.

And the relationships?? Don’t even get me started.

I have never in my life been so conflicted over who I’m rooting for.

Grayson???
Sir. I hate you. I love you. I hate that I love you.
You broke her—and I’m still not over it. Some of the things he said?? I AUDIBLY GASPED. My heart literally dropped. But then he turns around and does something that makes you question everything again. This man had me in emotional whiplash the entire book.

Owen???
THE STANDARD. The safety. The comfort. The “breathe, Ava” energy?? I melted.
He’s steady, caring, protective… and the way he loves her?? UGH.
And when he confessed?? I was DONE.

And don’t even get me started on the tension between them all because WHAT IS THIS—WHY CHOOSE BUT ALSO NOT BUT ALSO MAYBE???
I genuinely didn’t know who I wanted her with. I still don’t. I was STRESSED.

The plot?? INSANE.
FBI. Interpol. Russian Bratva. Betrayals. Twists on twists.
Every time I thought we hit peak chaos, it escalated.

Also—can we talk about the witchy elements??
The crow??? THE CROW???
I was emotionally attached immediately.
And the magic, the dreams, the symbolism woven into everything?? It added such a unique layer to the story that made it feel almost surreal at times.

And the SPICE??
Yeah… it’s giving. It’s very much giving.
Emotional, intense, sometimes unhinged—but it fits the story and the characters so well.

But what really got me?
The emotional damage.

When Grayson broke her, he broke something in me too.
When Owen loved her, I felt that.
When she didn’t know what to believe anymore? SAME.

And that ending????
I was on the edge of my seat, heart racing, completely consumed. The choices, the reveals, the sacrifices… I felt everything.

And don’t even get me STARTED on Owen at the end because I wanted to cry.

I genuinely ran out of note space while reading this. I had to open a whole new note just to keep going. That has NEVER happened to me before.

This book is everything—dark, emotional, messy, addictive, and completely unforgettable. Get it and read it and get lost with me!

I need a bonus epilogue immediately because I am NOT ready to let go.

This BOOK

THESE BOOKS !
The ending of Fallen to Thievery had me screaming into my pillow in a dark room. Lost to Thievery had me sending my thoughts to the author (first time I have been driven to that 😂) because, excuse me, what ? Why do I love this psychotic but extremely smart villain when we have a hot FBI agent at Avas Beck (et) and call.
I immediately loved Ava, because like me she is a whimsical botanist who talks to animals and nature. Unfortunately she is taken as a hostage during a bank robbery and things get wild!

Ava has fight in her, she grieves, she retaliates, she plots to get home to her family and friends. But Ava is Human and unfortunately her captor, who has an IQ of 176, is developing feelings for her.

Book one ends on a cliffhanger, but lucky for me the beautiful author gifted me an eARC in time for my birthday!

It has been a while since I kicked my feet and flushed red while reading a book. A damn good while. I'm old now you see. However things heat up once Ava is Lost to Thievery. Because Ava is broken hearted and dont we all love some warranted female rage?!

Grayson continues his heists but Ava is hot on his heels with an FBI agent willing to sacrifice all to help Ava take The devil himself down. Twists turns and characters revelations which will have your jaw dropping!
Grayson has met his match and ignited something in Ava, because things heat up as her fury burns brighter every day.

The writing is truly immersive , with characters done so well the intensity and understanding is felt right deep down to your bones. Morally black characters (with my morals seeping into grey deciding who I was really routing for) with complex accomplices make this an Action packed but cleverly done story which unfolds into an explosive ending. twists and turns, character revelations... The author knows what she is doing and this book ... i just couldn't put it down. I spent my birthday living in Avas head and I can declare.. best birthday read ever!

Ultimately Ava got the ending she chose so, but I am now staring into my coffee questioning my life choices.

I devoured this duology, but I think they were the ones that finished me ! They did something to me I cant explain. Please please let there be a book 3, if my heart can handle it. Off to inbox the author some more....

Thank you to the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It feels like an eternity since I began waiting for the conclusion to this duology (though in reality, it’s only been a couple of months!). This is the kind of immersive world that lingers in your mind long after you’ve put the book down, leaving you consumed by every possible theory. Filled with unexpected twists, beloved characters, and high-octane sequences, it is truly impossible to put down.

This finale more than lives up to the hype and expectations set by the first installment. We are returned to a world of complicated motives and high-stakes heists, but this time, through the lens of vengeance and broken hearts. Without giving anything away, be prepared for an emotional roller coaster, new faces you’ll immediately champion, and genuine shades of grey. Viewing the story from the perspective of the "good" guys forces us to question everything we experienced the first time around, making us wonder if our initial beliefs were entirely wrong. I love that the author writes these new characters as people you can truly get behind. While we know the "bad" guys do bad things, seeing the journey from this angle makes you question how ok you may have been with it the first time around. You may find yourself rooting for every single person, left wondering how this can possibly end without someone getting hurt.

☕ Final Verdict
A must-read. I have adored this duology from start to finish and found it utterly unputdownable. If you enjoy high stakes, morally ambiguous leads, and complex side characters, this is for you. It’s a story where you'll find two HEAs to root for, even though you know each path will lead to its own unique heartbreak.

Spoiler Alert! You wouldn't have spoilers if you read book 1 already!

Just like the first book, I was laughing, screaming, cussing, etc. How dare Grayson do that to our girl?! I'm questioning Ava's sanity and mine. Book 2 kicks off with our girl getting out of a mental institution upon acceptance to help take down the Apparitions. With extensive therapy, Ava is a little less heartbroken and a lot more vengeful. Our girl is out for blood this go around.

I love the growth Ava has in this book. She went from a nurturing and kind "little witch" to this badass huntress ready to take down the devil. Enter a sexy FBI agent aka Beckett, who is Ava's partner in this takedown. These two are quite the pair. It was hard not to see the appeal. I really wanted to be on team Beckett but I've always been one for the bad guy…I think I may have been in the denial phase.

Ava and Beckett plan, plot, and travel all over in hopes to arrest Grayson and his team. But catching the devil is never easy. One has to wonder if it's even worth the hassle anymore. Let me just say when the book was coming to an end, I was locked in. I did not know which direction it was going to go. But damn. The ending was spectacular. *Chef's Kiss*

MJ Winter's wrote this story with all the vibes. She layered the story and characters in genius way. I fell for the devil, and their found family. I was angry for Ava and wanted to punch Grayson. Beckett was perfect for her when she needed it most. The emotional roller coaster was worth it in the end.

Please take note of the trigger warnings and that this a dark romance that may have sensitive/disturbing topics for some readers.

Thank you to the author for the ARC which I was happy to review. All thoughts are my own.

This book can be summed up in one word: wow!
I absolutely loved the first book in this completed duology, but somehow this one was even better!

The story picks up right where Fallen to Thievery left off. Feeling betrayed and desperate to regain control of her life, Ava joins the FBI task force as a consultant, using her anger and deep understanding of Gray to help hunt him down. Agent Beckett has been trying to bring Grayson down for years, and the only person who truly understands how Gray thinks and operates is Ava.

What follows is a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase, filled with tension, fast-paced action, and plenty of unexpected twists and turns.
I binge read this book in just two days because I simply couldn’t put it down. I constantly needed to know what would happen next.

One of the things I loved most about this story was Ava’s character development. She truly grows into her own strength, finds her voice, and begins making decisions for herself again. Watching her reclaim agency over her life and become such a fierce character was incredibly satisfying.

This book felt like a dark romance masterpiece. It reads like an action-packed thriller, full of gripping plot twists and a good amount of spice.

Be sure to check the content warnings before reading this book. But if you enjoy dark romance, action-packed stories, and intense chemistry, this duology is definitely one to check out!

Holy second book of a duology! 🥵🔥 IF YOU HAVEN’T READ FALLEN TO THIEVERY (book 1), BE AWARE OF SPOILERS! Massive thanks to the author MJ Winters for keeping me on the ARC team!

I’ve longed to step back into the world of Ava and Grayson. It did not disappoint! The insane rollercoaster of emotions, the high stakes cat and mouse chases (in the best way) and the gut-wrenching pain and manipulation had me constantly wanting to read more. Like what do you mean I’m an adult with a day job?!

Instead of being a part of Graysons merry band of bandits, Ava is now hellbent on catching Grayson to let the devil rot in a jail cell. She joins the FBI agent who found her in book 1. She’s done the work, goes to therapy, slowly finding her way back to her normal self. But something’s lacking. Can you really keep on keeping on once you’ve had a taste of the devil?

The journey this book takes you on is impressive. It’s so smart and the way everything ties together throughout the story is just *chef’s kiss*. My heart broke a couple times and I’m so torn and twisted from reading this (in a scarily good way).

Another 5 star read, I tip my hat to you MJ, and I’m excited for the next stories, novels and books you’ll grace our world with!

Okay so this sequel was EXPLOSIVE in the best possible way.

I had so much fun reading Lost to Thievery. It has action, adventure, spice, tension, and one of the most compelling love triangles I’ve read in a long time. The dynamic between Owen, Ava, and Grayson had me completely hooked. My eyes were glued to the screen and I finished this book in less than three days because I simply couldn’t stop reading.

The cat-and-mouse tension between Owen and Grayson made the story feel like a high-speed spy movie. The chase scenes were adrenaline-filled and cinematic, and I loved every second of it.

I especially loved watching Ava step more fully into her power. Grayson challenges her, keeps her on her toes, and helps her embrace the darker, fearless side of herself as the High Priestess she’s meant to be. Their connection feels intense, electric, and deeply transformative. The way he makes her feel alive and the way she realizes her soul always craved adventure made their storyline incredibly powerful to read.

This book had so many jaw-dropping moments, and the tension and yearning throughout the story were absolutely divine.

Honestly, this is one of the best sequels I’ve ever read. MJ Winters has written something truly special here.

I’m still trying to collect my shattered feelings after finishing this book, because wow… this conclusion absolutely wrecked me in the best possible way.
From page one, the author drags you straight back into the world of danger, devotion, and beautifully twisted motives. The connection between the characters is even more intense here every moment between them charged with tension, longing, and heartbreak. You feel every choice, every sacrifice, every jagged edge of their love.
What impressed me most is how confidently this sequel expands the world while deepening every emotional thread from the first book. The stakes are higher, the moral lines blur even further, and the characters become more real flawed, determined, and impossible not to root for. It’s one of those rare stories where you genuinely don’t know how things can possibly end without losing someone you care about.
The twists? Brutal. The pacing? Addictive. The emotional punches? Devastatingly perfect.
By the time I reached the finale, I was torn between wanting to throw the book across the room and hugging it to my chest. It’s the kind of ending that feels right, even if it hurts an ending that sticks with you long after the last page.
If you love high-stakes romance, morally grey characters, found-family dynamics, and duologies that grip your heart until the final sentence, this is absolutely one you need to read.

Lost to Thievery completely consumed me. I thought the first book was intense, but this sequel somehow raised the stakes emotionally and psychologically in every possible way. Ava’s growth stood out the most to me. She’s angrier, sharper, more conflicted, and you can really feel how everything she went through changed her. I loved seeing her fight for control of her own life while still being pulled toward something dangerous.

And Grayson is someone I genuinely did not know whether to hate him or obsess over him. He’s manipulative, brilliant, frustrating, and impossible to ignore. Every scene with him carried this constant tension where I never knew what he would do next. The push and pull between them had me stressed in the best way.

What surprised me most was how fast paced the story felt. There’s always something happening, but it never loses the emotional side of the story. The twists kept catching me off guard, and the ending left me sitting there for a while just trying to process everything.

ARC Review 📚

Omg, omg, omg.. I've NEVER in my entire life cried so much while reading just ONE book. This is just so sweet and so cruel and absolutely AMAZING!!!
The tension and magic between Ava and Grayson in this one and the absolute sorrow.. It was just too much for my dark little heart but also perfection! 🖤

His beautiful (or perhaps sick and twisted - but who cares!?) little secret messages, just for her.. I'm sorry but he's mine now. Even more then after the first book. I claim him as my nr.1 Book Boyfriend 😍

Fallen to thievery was actually my first ever ARC! I never could have guessed when I got accepted, just how much this duology would mean to me!! I'm so happy to have gotten the opportunity to read and review them both, it will forever be one of my most favorite duologies 😘

I'm so happy it ended the way it did, again, PERFECTION!!! I wouldn't have had it any other way🖤🖤🖤

How am I supposed to live on without anymore of Grayson though!?😭 I might have to read both books again someday soon.. 🖤

Thank you to the author for allowing me the opportunity to read the ARC of your book! These are my honest opinions!

MJ Winters does it again! This time we pick up at the cliff hanger from book one and follow Ava as she navigates her life after being betrayed by those she considered her family.

In this book, we see deeper into Ava’s darkness and the lengths she is willing to go along the way while hunting down Grayson with the FBI. But, also the internal battles she is experiencing.

This one is filled with longing and heartache. And the author essentially just rips out your heart and stomps all over it in the process!

I super appreciated the multi POV, because you get to see insight into both Ava and Grayson’s perspective.

Book two, similar to the first had a ton of twists I didn’t anticipate! But, it wrapped up nicely in a way that left me satisfied!

I highly recommend this duology to anyone who loves a dark romance with morally black main characters, an enemies to lovers to enemies again, and a cat and mouse vibe! It is the perfect read!

OH MY GOSH where to start?! I loved the first book and was so excited to read the second. Let me tell you it did not disappoint.

Lost to Thievery is the sequel to Fallen to Thievery and continues to follow FMC Ava & MMC Grayson.

Rightly so Ava is angry and wants to get revenge after what Grayson did to her. Lost to Thievery is a story of heartbreak, revenge, twisted love, depression and a resilience of the strongest kind.

There are plot twists throughout which definitely keep you guessing.

MJ Winters has written not one but two incredible stories that had me gripped from start to finish. Well done on such great books.

I received a copy of this book as an ARC read and all opinions are my own.

What a roller-coaster!! Action packed, suspenseful, devastating 😢 💔 and crazy. What a privilege it was to be an ARC reader.

The conclusion to Fallen to Thievery. Loved it all. It was like watching a 007 movie, but make it the bad guy with a dark romance theme.

Utter devastating betrayals, love triangle, Mobs, underground king pin vibes, FBI, art thieves, crimes. There was even some witchy vibes... A must read!!

Ava, Grey and Owen.

She is broken, angry and on a revenge path. Owen is FBI and they work together to catch Grey. But she doesn't know how much Grey has sacrificed to protect her.

I was worried about what the ending will be. Had me on the edge of my seat. It was sweet torture 😉

Loved it

I’ve just finished Lost to Thievery and I have mixed feelings.

I really did enjoy the story and I was so invested in the characters, but I don’t think I’ll ever get over who she chose in the end. That honestly broke my heart a bit.

It wasn’t a slow-paced book, but I did find it harder to get into than the first. Once I was in it though, I was feeling everything—love, frustration, heartbreak… all of it.

I found myself picking it up and putting it down at times, but I still needed to see how it all played out.

Overall, a bittersweet and emotional ending to the duology.

I’d recommend this to readers who enjoy character-driven stories and don’t mind getting completely caught up in the emotions of it all—because this one definitely makes you feel.

This book had me in a chokehold the whole time, well the duology had me in a chokehold the whole time.

As soon as I was done Fallen To Thievery I started this one, because I needed to keep going, my obsession was that bad. And everytime I wasn't reading it, I was thinking about it.

Words don’t describe this. This makes you feel like your in story. Owen is so good and you start agreeing that it’s right thing that clearly Grayson wasn’t the one then in quick movement 2nd guessing everything. Then heartbreak in chapter 35 had me bawling. And the shock I had on my face when finding out who Hunts parents were. Omfg. This book will wreck you. I couldn’t even post or finish my review last night when I finished cause I was spiraling and shocked expessally after the PS: how long do you think Owen going wait. Is that opening to another book I need to know. This definitely 6 star read. Both books in this series is jaw dropping good.

Please MJ… my heart!
This book absolutely dragged me through it, broke me, healed me, and then shattered me all over again. I’m not even convinced I’ve fully recovered yet.
I felt everything Ava was going through so deeply, and all I wanted was for her to finally find some peace.
And the twists?! Non stop. I swear I got whiplash trying to keep up and work out how I missed the clues. How did this book make me both love and hate the MMC so intensely?
Once again, beautifully written and exactly what I needed after that brutal cliffhanger from Fallen to Thievery. MJ has done it again

This book absolutely wrecked me in every possible way. I cried, I was shocked, and I laughed—this story is incredible and completely addictive.

It’s an amazing sequel to the first book, and this time we follow Ava as she sets out to capture Grayson after he abandoned her. The way her emotions, actions, and memories come back to her is written so beautifully and really pulls you in.

The plot is so well done, and there were so many moments where I had no idea what to believe or what was going to happen next.

This book is pure magic, and I already want to reread it just to see if I can spot all the clues.

The wait is over, book 2 in the Thievery Duology is finally here. I have been patiently waiting because that ending at book one had me screaming for more.
This book is full of twists and turns, just like book one. Just when you think you know what's happening think again. The pace, the characters , the banter and spice.. all just perfect. Sometimes I did not know who I was routing for (IYKYK). Don't want to say too much to spoil it. After book 1 ending I am just glad Ava got the ending she deserved.
