The dragon stood before the woman, so that he might devour her child.
Elijah still has his doubts. As crazy as things have become, he figures there has to be a reasonable explanation. Except about the dragon. And maybe about Don. And definitely about the baby...
He's either going to find some answers or run away. He doesn't want to leave Naomi. But even the inseparable will be pulled apart in these times.

I wanted badly to plop at least 3-stars on this one, but I couldn't get over how, even at the around halfway point when many books typically get BETTER in their momentum, this one just kept getting worse. It isn't as much the direction of the story itself as it was the presentation and pace of it. Not to mention the over-abundance of secondary characters that served mostly to clog everything up than keep things interesting. It's hard to stay invested when there are too many people to keep track of, especially when said people don't really stand out as characters other than by name. Everyone just came across as way too generic this time around.
The story itself is definitely still there, still going through the motions of the book of Revelation and keeping me curious how it will all play out. But once I find myself coming to points when things got either way too slow, convoluted, or just plain boring, my interest becomes less voracious, and that always disappoints me. This book feels more like a filler than an amplifier, something to simply be sandwiched between its neighboring entries as a prop without taking their spotlights. Sure, there were some pretty nifty developments and some intriguing revelations, but ugh. The way they DRAGGED themselves to the forefront was just exhausting.
I'll definitely finish off the series, of course. I sense the third entry will more than likely make up for the sluggishness of this one.
Clothed in the Sun is the second book in the Omega Trilogy, which I picked up a while back because it was on sale and advertised as "Hunger Games meets Left Behind." I wasn’t a fan of the first book (Unbound), and if you’re curious, you can check out my review for more details on that. The only reason I picked this one up was because I’d already paid for it, and they’re quick reads.
That said, this second installment was an improvement. The pacing was better, the story was more engaging, and I actually started to care about some of the characters this time around. While it’s still not a favorite of mine, it was an okay read and kept me curious enough to consider finishing the trilogy.
I can’t put this book down! It’s prophetic and yet a great story line. I’m just glad I am old and may not be around to see if pre-post- or mid-tribulation is what a Christian will endure. Based on this story it will be full of deception and release of a very powerful enemy.
Sometimes we cannot see what it real and true! The darkness clouds our minds and muddies our thinking& Bit the giver of life and light is greater than he that is in the world. Though it may seem evil is winning the one who raises people from the dead and saves us from our sin is alive! He is returning soon!!!!
Don is developed in this installment in such a way as to really scare you. The author does a spectacular job at really getting the reader to see on patient, and insidious the adversary is. JB definitely gets the reader motivated to search scriptures and want to become a spiritual warrior. Fantastic job!
This KU library selection is a continuation of the series, beginning where book one ends. Elijah Goldsmith, the MC, is 18 and has already experienced more than most people in their lifetime. This book was increasingly difficult to put down. I can't wait to begin book three.
A good solid follow up to a good christian story about the end of times. I love the futuristic theme of it also, which differs it from the Left Behind Saga. This may be the C.S. Lewis of our time!
I think this might have been better than the first book, if I’m honest! It is a little bit terrifying that this book was written ten years ago, and just a few weeks ago Elon Musk implanted a chip very similar to the chips in the book into someone’s brain. I thought it was interesting that Naomi really wasn’t in this book very much, considering it’s called Clothed in the Sun. I think my favorite character was Ronaldo, he was really sweet. If I’m being honest, I don’t like Brie that much. I said this in my review for the first book, but she just seems way too perfect. Same thing goes for Chris. I know it sounds like I’m complaining a lot, but I really did love this book!
Clothed With The Sun was a very engaging, interesting story about the end of times. It is a sequel to Unbound. Is reading Unbound a true requirement to reading or enjoying this book? No, but it will definitely make things clearer. If you decide not to read Unbound first, for whatever reason, the author will give you enough information that you will be able to deduce the general gist of what happened previously.
The book while dealing with end of times, is definitely a plausible series of events that could happen over time. I won’t give too much away, but something in the not too distant future, could actually be androids building things or doing work and a fully immersible virtual reality.
The book starts out with Elijah and Naomi stuck in the desert with Jacques and Camille. While they appreciate the safety and security of being isolated, they are thinking about how to get away. Then Jacques decides they need to replenish supplies. Naomi questions further and Jacques reveals that Elijah won’t be coming back. Naomi and Elijah decide to make a run for it.
Some minor spoilers. Naomi and Elijah do escape, but they get separated. Elijah hopes that Naomi is safe, but has no way of contacting her. Elijah gets ‘captured’ by Aisha and returns to civilization. After readjusting, he realizes that he must face Cristo. I won’t spoil anything else here.
No more spoilers This book is definitely a great read and keeps you interested and thinking until the end. (Besides the fact that you will want the next book). The author has a unique way of writing that I find very interesting and well thought out. It doesn't follow standard fare for a lot of end of times books. I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope you will too!
I thoroughly enjoyed book two of the Omega Trilogy. Fast-paced and action-packed, it is a great follow up to Unbound. Clothed with the Sun continues the story of Elijah and Naomi, and most of the main characters from book one continue into book two so I felt like I started to get a much deeper understanding of the characters. Some good new characters were also introduced. Like Unbound, Clothed with the Sun does a really good job of weaving theology into a novel in an interesting way. This is sort of a no-brainer if you liked the first book.
Clothed with the Sun continued the eschatelogical journey of Elijah Goldsmith. This is an exciting end times perspective, and the author really helps you understand that the story could be reality. It is not a fear based perspective which is awesome. It is definitely an action packed page turner and I highly recommend this book to other readers. "Left Behind," watch out, there is a new end time novel that is on its way.
This was book 2 in the omega series. Since it was a few months between reading books 1 & 2, I would say it would be really helpful to read book 1 first, to fully understand all the character development leading into Clothed With the Sun. This was focused much more on Eli's journey - and was a great read. Really looking forward to book three!
JB Simmons has done it again. He started this series with Unbound, which ends with the reader on the edge of his seat. Clothed with the Sun picks right up again with the same intense pace, engaging characters, and air of mystery. Amidst the action and the anticipation, you also pick up deep insights on matters of the spirit and the world.
The three part series was so good. I started with the free first book and had to buy the other two. I actually finished them during thanks giving. It is very seasonal. I didn't realize that it was a Christian based fictional story. Omega refers to the Bible verse Alpha and omega. The main character is Jewish but mets Jesus several times.
This book is hard to put down. The characters are fun, the relationships compelling, and world believable. I love the Bond-like spy toys, the curious gifts, and the mystery of where this is going! I only wish the final book were already finished.
