Terrible book poorly written slow moving littered with Police statements you could tell no research was made regarding the statements full of here say and irrelevant information ( says a retired Police Officer of thirty five years ) the author spent more time on describing the food and how delicious it was at the Pub than the plot itself, I only read this book as it was a choice of the Book club I belong too cost me £8:99, this book will be hitting the local charity shop where it will probably be sold at £1:50 it’s true worth. Loved this book! It's one of my top cosy murder mysteries for 2025.
I loved the character dynamic between Sara and detective Harry Meredith, who has to investigate when a woman is murdered at the restaurant they're dining at. It was a real page-turner with a great twist ending I didn't see coming.
And it's actually set in a real restaurant too! I really want to go so that I can see the floor plan/picture the scene, but there are some drawings included in the book, which were a lovely touch. I also want to check out the food there 😆 Whenever the characters were describing what they were eating it sounded amazing, so yes, be prepared to want to go visit/eat out after reading.
