I Swore I'd Never Let The Town’s Villain Touch Me, (Again). Logan Harris. Older. All muscles. My brother’s bully. Off-limits. I’m back in town and he’s staring at my curves like he owns them. I came home to hide from danger. Not to fall into bed with the enemy. But when someone starts destroying our family farm, I'm forced to work with Logan—the only one who believes my journalistic suspicions. Midnight investigations turn into stolen kisses in his truck. His rough hands claim every curve I've been hiding for years. His filthy mouth makes promises that leave me breathless and aching. One night in his bed and handcuffs, and I forget why this is so wrong. Then I discover the pregnancy test. His ex. His baby. His lies. My family will disown me if they find out. The real criminal will kill us both if we expose the truth. Some cowboys should stay forbidden. But when this one touches me, I forget I'm supposed to hate him. Even when falling for him could destroy everything I came home to save.
Fair Logan plays dirty—with handcuffs, buzzing toys, filthy promises, and zero patience. This cowboy doesn't just fall in love... he claims. If you love scorching age-gap romance, enemies-to-lovers tension, and small-town secrets, this forced-proximity with a curvy journalist and a bad boy cowboy will have you up all night. One-click now—Logan Harris is waiting.
I question, occasionally, if my eagerness to read books I'm more than aware I'll dislike, even despise, is a sign of masochism.
One of my gripes with this atrocious novel was the writing. I don't recall catching any grammar or spelling errors, although this may be attributed to my lack of sleep when reading, or the distraction caused by how outrageously horrible some dialogue was. Some sentences didn't flow right - they felt lifeless, to say. The prose is a degree of simplicity that I do not find pleasurable; I question how anyone can.
Other than this, I was also astoundingly disappointed by how vanilla the sex was. If I recall correctly, the only interesting thing this couple did was make use of nipple clamps, one of which was also attached to her clitoris. I may be wrong about this, though. But I don't want to see this horrible cover again, so I won't bother to check. It also lacked any descriptiveness. I've read better smut in fanfiction. I searched this book up to read filthy smut. Detailed smut. Smut that had its own storyline - a beginning with teasing, soft touches, foreplay, easing into cock-in-vagina action, and maybe other kinky things. I didn't expect it to be the ML just thrusting into FL for say a few minutes (at least, this is how I viewed the length to be from how the book described it) and coming. I must applaud the sex-talk, though. It's pure comedy. That is to say, I find myself pondering life after thinking of how there are actual people out there who would get turned on by the bullshit the ML says.
Other than this, I must bring up the lack of relevance the title holds: I don't recall anything in this book being about cowboys? Is it named such because the setting is Texas? Moreover, not ONCE in this book do I recall the ML being described as "grumpy." Nor does it describe the FL being "Plus-Size."
The lack of actual forbidden love was also egregious. These are two white, cishet people who are in, around, the same class (perhaps upper-middle to lower-middle; I'm not too sure, but the difference isn't great that the love could be considered taboo due to social standing). It's forbidden because he's her brother's high school bully. I get it. But this is so easily solved by a simple apology from the ML's side, acknowledging his past mistakes and expressing how he truly loves the FL. By the end of the book, other than the ML saving FL's brother's life, this is how they reconcile. Although the saving of life also played into it, there also existed the addition of the ML being a philanthropist and setting up a homeless shelter. Surely, that would change their view of him if revealed. But nooo, he doesn't want the praise, so he keeps it secret. They're also pathetic at keeping their relationship a secret. A neighbour literally catches ML carrying FL, and her brother's fiancée thus finds out about their relationship, which the FL masks as 'friendship.'
Moving on to the next bit: the abysmal plot. To summarise, there has been a mysterious person stealing cows (I think) from FL's family's farm and trying to frame it on ML. They figure out that this person might be a specific cop. They then go to this cop's farm, which is guarded by a pitbull that injures FL and leads to more nausea-inducing 'romance.' Around sixty per cent into the novel, there are small progressions of this plot, if it can even be called such. At the very end, it's suddenly revealed that the stealing of cows was a ploy to hide the illegal selling of cocaine, and the officer who stole these cows just did so instead of buying them out of cheapness. That's it. There's this whole confrontation scene where the ML gets shot, and not once did I feel a sliver of anticipation. Aside from this, the romance between the two characters is also fucking stupid. I don't even know why they like each other. The ML says he likes some traits of the FL, one including her 'sasiness' (where???). Apparently, FL had a thing for him in high school - common teenage girl crushes. Except, in the book, he's around 30, and she's 26 (to my memory; I may be wrong), but he also liked her back in high school, when he would be 17-18, while she was 14-15... I'm not going to touch upon that, but this only furthers my dislike of this stale ML.
The lacklustre romance added to the bland smut is tear-inducing.
Throughout the story, the FL describes disliking being treated like glass, not like the adult woman she is, who, in the past, has done dangerous things (as she's a journalist, she chased this politician's son, who did shady stuff - I forgot, exactly, but she's not a fragile little doll). She doesn't want to be treated like a damsel in distress. But she is. In the book, she's always saved by the ML. I fail to see how this is empowering in the slightest modicum, not that the book stated it would; my expectations were simply too high.
The enemies-to-lovers aspect is also just not there? Within, say, the first ten chapters (probably less), they're already fucking. Also, pretty early on, the FL figures that someone is setting the ML up to look like the thief.
Overall, if you enjoy hate-reads and absolutely dogshitting on terrible books, I would recommend this to you. Otherwise, I recommend you go to AO3 if you're looking for true erotica.
(The cover is AI-generated slop as well... take that as you will.)

cowboy romance grumpy/sunshine enemies to lovers age gap brothers bully forbidden love 2nd chance love
Logan and Olivia have history ... He deflowered her then turned his back on her and kicked her out ... He has a history of bullying her brother in HS and when theft happens around the ranch he is first person they look at ... They both realize it is neither of their families fault and together they go out to on a mission to find out the truth
This story is a lot. It's a second chance romance in a small town between a "bad boy" ex-bully ex-jock turned cowboy farmer humanitarian and the "good girl" feisty yet insecure ex-investigative journalist blast from the past who he's always loved. Including some steamy BDSM scenes, mysterious crimes and a boat load of drama. The story needs editing, but it's a good read regardless of the typos.

Grumpy cowboy Logan and Olivia a woman who hates him
Logan was a bully to Olivia's brother in high school. A good reason for her and family to hate him. Logan has loved Olivia forever but never had the chance to pursue his feelings. Will Olivia and her family notice that Logan has indeed changed for the better.
Like WTF don’t put plus size if it’s not true‼️‼️. Ok so the one smex scene was hot, hot, hot and the forbidden love was ok. It was written well but I guess I was hoping for more.
I feel as though this book was represented. It was not that spicy had a little smut that everything was teenybop. The dialogue and the story were juvenile and predictable. Someone else might enjoy this book but it was not for me.
Such a great read! Spicy with a great story line! Had to finish in a day!! Dishes be damned lol and the bonus chapters are amazing as well! Must read book with lots of feels!
