One weekend. One sexy man. That's all we agreed on.
I never thought agreeing to spend the weekend with him would change my whole world.
Change every aspect of my life.
Only knowing his first name would come back to haunt me.
No man ever compared. No man ever came close.
Almost seven years later... Same town... Same instant spark...Only this time he's not available, he kept a secret from the start and I've had a secret I couldn't share with him until now.
Can we get past the obstacles in front of us, or are we just destined to be apart?
I am 37 years old, and I live with my wonderful husband and 2 amazing children. I am truly blessed with my family and friends, wouldnt be here without them!
I just released my debut novel An Unexpected Forever and can't wait to release more!
Story telling is an art.. which this author hasn't mastered yet. Its sad how badly the book is written. It didn't have a flow. No connection, it just jumped all over.
One night, just one night. No last name, no details, just one night.
Alexander by Kaydee Mavericks is a story about finding love, losing love, and finding love again. James and Emma thought that one wild weekend was all that they would ever have. They don't want to know anything other than their first names, no details, no last names. After a wonderful and wild weekend, they both walk away, both torn at the idea of never seeing each other again, both having second thoughts, but both respecting the agreement that they made.
Six years later, in a little island city of Eagleland, both are surprised and shocked to see each other again. James is shocked to learn that he has a daughter, Emma is shocked to learn that James is really Alexander James, crown prince, heir to the throne and engaged. But one thing is certain, they both still feel drawn to each other. The more time that they spend together alone and with their daughter, the more it becomes clear to the both of them, despite their differences, despite the distance and time, they know in their hearts that they have found their other half, the other part of their soul.
When family obligations, lies and duty step in, it may shatter the world that these soul mates are so desprate to build together.
I loved everything about this book. The characters were so endearing and the struggles, fear, pain and love that they feel for each other is just so tangable. I loved the supporting characters of Riley, Sam, Luke and Theo. Each in their own way try their best to help Emma and James find their HEA. I can't wait to read more in this series. The other characters need to have their stories told and I will be right there with them, waiting and hoping that they all find their HEA.
Firstly the story itself... I thought the story was well written with a bit of angst - how can you have a romance without angst right? Although the story may not be new, the author brought fresh life to it and it was a joy to read. I just couldn't put this one down (even the author commented - "You read that fast!).
The characters I thought were believable and strong. I loved that Emma was very independant and although she had some setbacks, she just adjusted and carried on towards her dream. I also liked that Alexander "James" had a sense of duty and loyalty and that never faltered, just redirected. The friends and family were very much a part of this story and I can't wait to read more about them... oh the stories I think they'll tell!
This is the second book written by this author and I was not disappointed! Kaydee is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors that I like to read and I can't wait to read more. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a good read with an HEA - I loved it! Thanks Kaydee!
I am in love with this author!! Seriously, I read Unexpected Forever and immediately knew this author was one I would read everything she publishes and then reading this one and HOLY COW...I AM IN LOVE!!! I really didn't think it was possible to love this one more than Unexpected Forever, but boy was I wrong. Alexander was written to make you fall in love, have your heart break and fall in love again. Emma and James meet and have one hot weekend together and then it's back to "real" life. Fast forward some years later and they unexpectedly come face to face again and well that's all I can tell you without giving anything away, but I will say that this book is not to be missed!! Every person will fall in love with James and Emma just like I did, guaranteed!! Again, I say that I will be reading anything and everything this author puts out. She is a must read!!! Really wish I could give it more stars but 5++ AMAZEBALLS stars it is!! A copy was sent in exchange for an honest review.
Such a sweet love story! It was a quick easy read and I fell in love with all of the characters! I think it is very well written and I can't wait to read more books from this author!
A sweet love story with a few bumps along the way!
I really enjoyed this story and the twist, turns and bumps along the way to happily ever after! I loved Emma she was strong, confident and a great mom to Sophie, who was so adorable!! This book was full of great, funny and wonderful characters!! James, Theo, Luke, Riley, Emma and Sophie were all written perfectly and you couldn't help but fall in love with them all! I couldn't help but cheer for them and get upset when they didn't do what I wanted them to do!! I truly loved this fairytale with a modern twist, it was so much fun to read!!
Was a good story, quick read but didn't feel much emotion from the book. All the characters are likeable but I felt the story didn't flow right. In some parts of the story it was well described but in others it felt rushed with no emotion. Parts of the plot felt immature and unrealistic.
The whole time I was a reading this I couldn't help but think to myself, " What happened in Vegas didn't stay in Vegas.". It was a nice book full of angst and trying to live up to parental expectations. True love wins in the end.
Love this story second chance romance for Emma and James loved this story that has a HEA for everyone in it its a nice quick read that make you turn the pages so you can find out what happens next
So this was a really sweet book with great characters. All the characters were so likeable not just the main ones. I have to say I think Theo was my favorite though. I did however think it was odd that Riley did not recognize James and Sam at the night club but grew up with them and knew who they were later in the story. And it may just be me but I wish there was more sexy scenes. Lol. There was only 1 lukewarm scene. Also I longer epilogue! I wanted more babies! I wanted them to finally have a baby to actually raise together. I definitely thought there would be books to follow. Not with these characters but with Theo or Luke but doesn't look like it. Any who this was a good read with a sweet ending.
I am very conflicted about this book. The premise or story line was very interesting, but the delivery just didn't cut it. There are a lot of editing issues with this book. I understand that there will always be things that are not caught, but this book just had too many. On a positive, the characters were very likable and relatable.
This was pretty cheesy. I had a lot of moments where I rolled my eyes and said, "Really?" Insta-love and insta-reconnection without any real understanding of what the characters saw in each other. I did finish it though, even if I skimmed a lot.
Lots of spelling mistakes and the writing level is immature but over all it was a good read. If the movie the prince and me + what a girl wants had a baby this plot would be its baby.
