Channing is in desperate need of a holiday break. With hockey season ramping up, her body is starting to pay the price. It’s the perfect time for a little vacation with her best friend. What Channing wasn’t expecting is Remi. A beautiful esthetician, who just happens to be working at the hotel and spa Channing is staying at. Remi immediately recognizes Channing and can’t help flirting because hockey is her weakness.
The two of them know they only have a short window of time to explore their undeniable chemistry. But the thing is, their connection is stronger than they thought. Way stronger than it should be after only a few days. Will their fling lead into something more? Or was it only meant to be a few stolen moments over the holiday break? The two of them will have to figure it out.
This cute hockey 🏒 novella, is the perfect start to the holiday season. You'll be rooting for Channing and Remi to take that plunge after their meet cute. Their chemistry 🌶 escalates quickly. Sometimes enjoyable reads come in small packages.
3.5 ⭐️ This was cute! Nice twist on what would typically be a MF romance. Also, as a visible (masc-ish) lesbian too, this quote stood out: ‘There weren’t many people here, but I did get a few sidelong glances. It was hard to know if it was because of the team or because I was more visibly queer than other people.’
The concept of two people being this into one another after one hookup and a week of knowing one another, especially without having a single meaningful or personal conversation, will never work for me, but it also cannot be overstated how categorically bad the writing in this novella is.
This was cute and fast paced! I really enjoyed it, especially because we don’t have many sapphic hockey romances, so it’s great to get a good one. Just wish it was longer!
Written in first person with 2x POV’s. Sports, Masc/Femme, Disability Rep, Insta-Love. 1x Spicy Scene.
I was so excited to get an ARC of A Seasonal Love Affair. Hockey, WLW, and holiday? Sign me tf up. My biggest problem with the book is there is not a longer story of these two. i would devour that in a heartbeat.

SPOILERS AHEAD
I absolutely adored the relationship between Remi and Channing. The dynamic between them and how it shifts in different scenarios (i.e. bar vs bed vs hanging out) was so fun to watch. The spicy scenes were great too, so much so that I went back and read them again.
There is a mention of Channing having EDS and I was excited to have representation in a book. Unfortunately it felt like more of a last minute add instead of a genuine condition/concern like it should be and is said to be. I would've loved to see this more in conversations with Remi at least as it seemed to be important in relationships to Channing.
Overall cute, quick winter meet cute without instalove. I definitely recommend it!

Super quick steamy novella! The author dipped into the characters with plenty of depth and detail for such a short story and I would love to see where that rep could go in a novel! Channing is so sweet yet more stoic and lives with constant pain and is a professional hockey player. Remi is also so sweet yet more bubbly and is an esthetician and influencer working at a resort a few hours from where Channing lives. When they meet, their connection is sparkling! But is it just for vacation or is there more there? Read and find out!!
This was so cute! They do fall in love WAY too fast for my taste & I would’ve loved a bit more depth overall. But the representation was really great across the board, and listen, it’s a fun lil sapphic holiday novella so I still had fun!
Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy of A Seasonal Love Affair! As always, all opinions are my own and this review is being left voluntarily.

Unfortunately this book was a miss for me. I knew this was a shorter book going in (and have enjoyed many shorter works in the past); however, the pacing didn’t really work for me. It was too insta-love, and the dialogue didn’t feel real/genuine to me. I was not able to feel connected to or invested in the characters. Others may have a different experience. Since it is a short read, it is worth a shot if you think you’d be into it. Sadly, I was not.
2 Stars — “Cute Moments, But Ultimately Fell Flat”
A Seasonal Love Affair had a premise I was excited for—holiday vibes, a pro hockey player in need of a break, and a spa-side spark with an esthetician who recognizes her immediately. Channing and Remi have an easy, flirty chemistry, and their short, whirlwind connection has some genuinely sweet moments.
But despite the setup, the story never fully came together for me. The relationship develops so quickly that it was hard to feel the emotional stakes, and the “short window of time” trope didn’t get enough depth to make their bond believable. The pacing felt rushed, and I kept wishing for more character development beyond the attraction. By the time the book started hinting at something more meaningful, it was already wrapping up.
Overall, it’s a light, fast holiday read with potential, but it left me wanting more substance and a stronger emotional payoff.
This is a cute, fast paced sapphic hockey holiday romance novella. It gives you what it says it will.
As far as my enjoyment goes, it was alright. I felt like it was a little too fast paced because there were so many skips in time. I felt like it could’ve been fleshed out a little more in some aspects, but I still did like it.
Thanks to the author for the ARC copy of the book. This has not affected my review at all, which are my own thoughts.
After a long and tiring hockey season, Channing is more than ready for a little relax and relaxation with her friends at a far away hotel, spa included. There, she meets Remi, a esthetician and long-time fan of Channing and her team, and as such Remi lets her know right upon meeting Channing. They connect immediately, their chemistry strong, sweet and passionate, yet they know they're only sharing a few days. So, they either make the most out of them or miss the opportunity. Which one will it be? Read and find out!
So, this is a very short novella about two people finding each other when they kind of most needed it, or, at least, were thinking about it. I decided to give this one a try because of hockey, but I was a bit wary upon seeing that it was less than a 100 pages and romances are hard to develop in such tight spaces, in my opinion. Yet, the chemistry is strong as I said, pouring out the pages and Channing and Remi are very complimentary and connect quite genuinely. I was very surprised and glad to see it develop.
I wished there had been more depth in the narration, if I had to point out something that didn't made me connect as much as I expected with the book. And I feel like there was too much telling instead of showing, even for a novella. Sure, somethings have to been sum up due to limited space, but I would have like to see a couple moments been more developed than they were.
But, I had fun, Channing and Remi make for a great pair and even the side characters were enjoyable, creating a vivid dynamic both in and outside of hockey. I read it in one sitting, flying through the pages and finding myself laughing along with the characters and rooting for the women to find someone to share their lives with. So, definitely recommended for people looking for a sweet and steamy romance with a dash of hockey and characters that y'all will want to follow around ;)
I was honored to be chosen to read this as an ARC. This was not only my first Madison Nicole book, but it was also my first FF book. I am now a forever Madison Nicole fan. The way she writes, just makes you feel enthralled with each character. Being an avid hockey fan, I knew I was going to like this, but the way Madison writes, made me fall in love with this story. Not only did she portray women in sports, but she wrote about Channing who struggled with an invisible disease. Both of those things are not widely portrayed, and I LOVE that she incorporated them into her story. This story follows the budding love story of Channing, a badass female professional hockey player and Remi, a confident esthetician but also a social media influencer. Channing, not really looking for a relationship, happens to have an appointment in the same spa as Remi. Remi, knowing hockey, comes to realize her celebrity crush is her next appointment. Does Remi take the jump and let Channing know her feelings? Does Channing find someone who makes her want a relationship? Will distance play a factor in the possibility of a relationship between Remi and Channing? Read A Seasonal Love Affair to find out!
A Seasonal Love Affair was the perfect book to kick off my holiday reading season after saying goodbye to all things spooky. It’s a short and sweet novella, but it never feels rushed or unresolved.
Channing and Remi had instant chemistry, but their connection still managed to feel natural and believable. Even with the fast pace that’s expected in a novella, both characters felt fully formed and not at all one-dimensional. I really appreciated that there was actual plot here too, not just a string of steamy scenes (though those were definitely there and very enjoyable).
The angst hit just right, enough to keep things interesting without becoming too overwhelming. And I have to say, I would absolutely read a full-length novel (or a whole series) featuring these two, along with the fun side characters we got a glimpse of.
This was a cozy, satisfying read that delivered exactly what I wanted: sapphic romance, warmth, and just enough tension to keep me invested until the last chapter.
If you need a quick, fun, spicy wintery sapphic read this is definitely a good place to start. I woke up Saturday morning yearning for something short but also feel good. I easily got hooked into this story and couldn’t put it down, but it was easy to finish in one sitting with short chapters and only 87 pages :) I typically don’t read sport romances but this year alone I got really into Tip In by Josie Mae and Cleat Cute by Meryl Wisner. This was my first hockey romance but I was totally into it. It gave the same vibes as the Carly Jackson thirst traps on my FYP 👀 ANYWAY - the quick story of Channing and Remi was hot. They instantly had sexually chemistry and attraction towards each other. I love how Remi was into Channing before even stepping foot in her spa. I was left at the end of this story wanting more and was disappointed that it was just a novella. I would love to see how their relationship would play out and would LOVE more scenes between them. 🔥 3.5/5
Channing is at a resort for a break with her best friend’s family when they book her a spa package to relax. There she meets a beautiful woman who also loves hockey and they hit it off. But can they make it doing long distance once Channing goes home?
Channing and Remi were a fun couple to spend an evening with. The spice is real and it’s great how they not only have shared interests but also mutual friends through Trina. Some parts were a bit awk but I loved the body positivity and overall a great fun sapphic novella and we always need more WLW in sports.
Channing and Remi, Fast burn, Dual POV, found family, Sports / Hockey sapphic love story. A Happy ending novella that I wish it was a full-length novel. I would have loved reading about how they make the long-distance work and all of that. But the story is brilliantly executed at breakneck speed. A hot and heavy love scene in Chapter 7 and then some delicious pining and yearning from the middle of Chapter 9 towards the end. A truly lovely holiday romance read, definitely give it a shot! This was an excellent taste of Madison Nicole’s writing style. Now I’m off to read more of her works! ;-)
Short, Sweet, and Spicy. This novella delivers everything it promises, I was interested in it because I love both the winter and hockey, but you don't really need to be a hockey fan to appreciate it. It tells a complete story, I felt like I understood who the characters were very quickly and it makes good use of it's limited page count to keep the action moving. I would be interested in seeing these characters again.
ARC Review - Thank you to the author for providing me with a free copy of the book to read and review.
I was so excited to read A Seasonal Love Affair! I love hockey, especially women’s hockey, and sapphic reads, and this was the best of both worlds! I devoured this book in one go to the displeasure of my sleep schedule, but I just couldn’t put it down! The characters were lovable, and had their own unique voices. The banter was top tear, the spice was sweet perfection! I loved it all!
This was a really positive queer Sapphic hockey romance novella between a pan beauty influencer and a lesbian women’s league player. Sure they meet and bang and it happens fast but that’s the nature of a novella and the women in sports rep, queer friend group and disability rep (Channing has EDS) all made it a standout read for me! Would love a full length novel set in this world!! Recommended for fans of the Toronto Rosebud series.
I was extremely lucky to have been chosen as an ARC reader for this novella. I loved the idea (huge hockey fan here, especially women’s) as well as a love at first sight lover. It’s a cute, fun, spicy (🌶️🌶️) spicy read that you can eat up in one sitting if you’d like. It’s definitely worth reading and I’m excited to see if the author will expand on their relationship or universe.
A quick fun sapphic holiday read! This novella is the perfect book to start your holiday reads. It was fun, sweet and a lil spicy! The main characters had a good amount of story before they met so their story was definitely well fleshed out! I could see this being a great insight to a full-length book for them!!
Thanks to the author for the ARC copy of the book. This has not affected my review at all.
A Seasonal Love Affair was an adorable, fast-paced novella. While the story unfolded quickly, the author did a great job showing the readers who the characters are. This is a great read for fans of sports themed romance novels.
This was such a fun novella! I loved how adorable the characters were and even though yes things happened fast it worked. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I definitely want to read more. Perfect kind of holiday novella to read to help round out end of year goals or in between heavier novels!
Channing and Remi met under the strangest circumstances, but that is how the best love stories go. Channing went to a spa with her best friend and her friends family. There she was booked for messages and facials, leading to her meeting the other half of her soul. From both of them instant attraction and electric connection.
This novella was incredible. i’m so lucky i got to read this love story. Channing and Remi are delightful characters on their own, and as a couple they’re adorable. Honestly my only complaint is that it’s just a novella, because i would gladly read 1,000 pages about them
This was a super sweet, quick read. I was impressed with the authors ability to introduce characters, settings, and a budding relationship so well in such a short amount of time. I really enjoyed it and look forward to more from Madison Nicole.
This is my first Madison Nicole book and first hockey romance and I was not disappointed. This fast pace spicy sapphic holiday hockey romance was fantastic, we need to see more from Remi and Channing!
When you know you know. Remi and Chan had an instant connection. The problem Chan was on vacation and the lived an hour plus apart. Fortunately they both wanted the relationship to work.
