"Shockwaves": "The Legend of Sergeant Beane"

Rate this book
My book chronicles many of my life experiences, particularly focusing on my time as a young Dallas police officer, the challenges I faced, and the personal struggles that shaped my identity and career. I hope you enjoy reading about the love, loss, and resilience, interspersed with anecdotes from both my professional and personal life that I shared with you..
Introduction to the Memoir
David R. Beane reflects on his life journey, sharing the emotional toll of writing his memoir, which spans from his childhood in the 1960s to the 1980s. He expresses gratitude towards family and friends for their support during this challenging endeavor. The memoir serves as a tribute to those who influenced his life and career, particularly his late brother, James T. Beane, and his colleagues in the Dallas Police Department.

About that title : The horrific death of his little brother, soon after graduating from the police academy, sent what he describes as "Shockwaves" through his life that followed him for the rest of his life. This is some of the damage left by the shockwaves.

Hard to follow at times but stay with it

This is a gritty, no holds barred, good-bad-and ugly of a man who happened to be a police officer. With shades of Joseph Wambaugh, he tells it like it was/is and makes you feel like you’re there. The author jumps around at times, but it’s relatively easy to figure out where you are. I’m looking forward to Vol 2.
