Hideaway Harbor #3

The Holiday Whoopie: A Spicy, Small-Town, Christmas RomCom

Rate this book
What happens when a type-A small-town baker and a Hollywood lawyer collide?
Whoopie…
pies , for starters.

Audrey Nouel didn’t swap Manhattan’s Michelin stars for Maine’s whoopie pies just to fall for a man who wears thousand-dollar suits like pajamas. She’s got a bakery to run, a cease-and-desist letter threatening her business, and zero chill for the city-boy Grinch who strolls in looking like he wrote the naughty list.

Jack Lourd didn’t plan on spending Christmas in a postcard-perfect harbor town—or partnering with a feisty baker who swears she doesn’t need his help. He’s here for his movie-star client, not to trade legal briefs for frosting bags.

But toss in one ill-timed snowstorm, a gingerbread house catastrophe, and a Christmas tree takedown that goes viral, and you’ve got a hot recipe for whoopie.

The Holiday Whoopie is a panty-melting, laugh-out-loud holiday romcom packed with small-town shenanigans, heat that doesn’t stay in the oven, and enough sugar to make your heart skip a beat.
+++

Whoopie is book three of the Christmas at Hideaway Harbor series of six spicy romantic comedies. The books are interconnected standalones and can be listened to in any order.

"The Holiday Whoopie" by Sara L. Hudson is a wonderful, sweet, spicy small-town holiday story that will surely put you in the mood for Christmas! I absolutely adored Audrey and Jack and their unexpected romance. Audrey is a workaholic chef and baker who made the move from the Big Apple to a tiny town called Hideaway Harbor, where she hoped to open her own bakery and to find the love of her own, genuine, flannel-wearing, Christmas tree-chopping lumberjack. Only one of those things has happened so far, and the town is obsessed with the whoopie pies and other baked goods she creates in her store, Making Whoopie. They have welcomed her with open arms, but she still feels like a bit of an underappreciated outsider at times. Jack is a high-powered Los Angeles lawyer in town with his actor best friend/client, Amanda, for the holidays. He takes a liking to Hideaway Harbor and to Audrey, whom he begins to help at the bakery under the guise of using her free wifi. He also starts to assist the townspeople of Hideaway Harbor with their pressing legal questions, which helps him feel so much more satisfied with his work when he is actually being helpful, versus being pressured about contracts and actors and stuff he doesn't feel matters anymore. Over time, Audrey and Jack form a connection that is stronger than either of them expected. I laughed a ton while reading this story. It's really funny and zany! Small-town shenanigans always do it for me, and this book has a lot of hilarious puns, meddling neighbors, and goofy innuendos that will make you giggle from start to finish. I appreciate the way Sara L. Hudson balances the heavier, more introspective moments with levity. This book is infused with Christmas from start to finish. From caroling to Christmas tree lighting, from holiday-themed treats to holiday-themed spice, this book made me fall in love with Hideaway Harbor. I swooned, I sighed, I blushed! And all of this is before the dog AND the cat, which I won't spoil because it is a guaranteed laugh. I LOVED THIS!! If you get the chance to listen to this book on audiobook, I highly suggest you take the opportunity. I LOVED Ryan Dunlap and Kasi Hollowell's dual narration! They brought so much vim and vigor into these characters and to this town. Absolutely fabulous work here!

Thank you to Sara L. Hudson for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.

Bakeshop owner Audrey is up to her ears in holiday-themed and innuendo-named confections when not one but two different blockbuster movie stars descend upon her recently adopted hometown of Hideaway Harbour. Along with one of the in-demand celebrities arrives a too handsome for his own good (and hers) attorney.

Entertainment lawyer Jack is visiting his client and childhood friend when he runs into the lovely but mercurial baker. He inexplicably finds his elf compelled to help her with the mob demanding her baked goods at the town tree lighting event. A few days later he finds out Audrey is having legal troubles and swoops in to assist, which also puts them in close proximity with one another, and soon their mutual attraction is undeniable.

He’s a big city attorney with high powered clients, she’s a small town bakery owner who wants peace and quiet. How can this possibly work?

As with all Sara Hudson books, this novella is funny and steamy, and it touches upon difficult topics with respect and a deft hand. The banter and heat from this pair of star-crossed characters is on point and deeply satisfying.

I was fortunate to have received an advance reader copy from the author and bookfunnel, and I’m pleased to share my honest review.

When going into a romance novel from an author I’ve never read before, I never quite know what to expect and always keep my expectations at a simmer, just in case. With this book, though, I was quickly pulled right in and knew that it was going to be a solid holiday romance.

First off, I really liked both Audrey and Jack as characters. Audrey’s a bit too devoted to her work and can’t see the forest for the trees, while Jack’s a little lost in this small town and needs his own break from all the big-city hubbub. They were both very real, very relatable, and very lovable characters. Their romance worked well and I liked how they complemented each other.

What really got me in this book, though, was the humor. There were multiple times listening to the audio that I let out a chuckle. I especially loved all the fun names of Audrey’s whoopie pies, because I’m always a fan of a pun, in particular when it’s also an innuendo. I also nearly choked when the beloved feline friend Mike Hunt was introduced. Let’s just say, Sara Hudson’s type of humor is also my type of humor.

I was a little worried as we approached the third act because I could feel a breakup a-building and I really dislike the third-act breakup in romance novels. However, with this one, I realized that what I truly dislike is a breakup brought on by the hated miscommunication trope. In this book, the brief breakup made sense with where the characters were at with things. It really is saying something that I’d give a book a pass on this, so credit where it’s due to Sara on that.

Oh, and I can’t forget to mention the spice. There’s plenty of that here. Romance readers will rejoice on that front.

Finally, a shout out to Ryan Dunlap and Kasi Hollowell as the narrators for the audiobook. They did a spectacular job bringing Jack and Audrey to life.

Many thanks to Sara Hudson for the chance to read/listen to her book ahead of time. I’m happy to leave this honest review of it.

A perfect way to kick off the holiday season. The Holiday Whoopie is so full of Christmas cheer. And Whoopie pies, which I definitely need to make this year!

This small town is so quaint and an absolutely perfect backdrop for a Christmas book.

Insta enemies Audrey and Jack are continually placed in each other's orbit and they can't deny their attraction, no matter how hard they try.

This is a funny, highly entertaining story and makes me realize why I've never tried to chop down my own Christmas tree #iykyk

It does get a bit spicy about halfway through, but it complements the story versus taking center stage, a perfect balance.

This fun story was made even better with chapter titles and shoe images included in each chapter. Both nice creative touches that make it extra special.

It's book three of a series where the books are interconnected but all stand alone.

I love a grump vs. grump romance and in this spicy holiday rom-com, Jack’s grumpiness falls to the wayside as he quickly falls first and harder for Audrey. I love how Jack gravitates towards Audrey and wants to be in her presence however she’ll have him which is often times working beside her at the bakery. Even when neither is sure how their relationship can work, the author shows how two people can work together to compromise when they are all in. Thank you to Sara L. Hudson for the opportunity to read this early. It truly was my pleasure.

"The Holiday Whoopie" by Sara L. Hudson is part of the "Hideaway Harbor" series of interconnected standalones.

I received a digital and audio copy of the book from the author.
Opinions from this review are completely my own.

Audrey runs the "Making Whoopie" bakery, famous for the whoopie pies.
Jack is a lawyer from LA, that came in Hideaway Harbor for his actor best friend and client, Amanda.
He starts helping Audrey at the bakery and they form a connection.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Ryan Dunlap and Kasi Hollowell.
They both did a great job and were great as Audrey and Jack.

This is a shorter sweet and spicy story full of funny moments.
I like the small town vibes of the whole series, filled with meddling neighbours, a town dog and businesses with innuendos in their name.

Audrey and Jack have great chemistry and in close proximity it becomes steamy.

Some characters from the other books are part of the story and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Oh my. This book made me crave whoopie pies SO much. Sara’s sensory writing puts you right there in the bakery, inhaling fresh-baked goodness and tasting every delicious flavor on your tongue.

You will fall hard for Jack, the sharp-suited, soft-hearted Hollywood lawyer, who shows overachieving, overworked Audrey how to savor life, the season, and just how much Hideaway Harbor treasures its hardworking baker. I loved that both of them had to let go of best-laid plans to truly choose a future together.

Grab a sweet treat and a really dirty chai latte, and dive in. It’s warm, witty, deliciously romantic—and yes, spicy.

PS. If you love Skippy as much as I do, you'll be delighted to find him in a starring role :)

The Holiday Whoopie is a sweet yet spicy holiday romance set in the dreamy Hideaway Harbour. This one features Jack and Audrey and is part of the Christmas At Hideaway Harbour Series. It’s perfect as a standalone read if you can’t commit to a 6 book series. The town, the characters and all the Christmas festivities definitely keeps you invested. This one was another enjoyable read as has been the whole series. I received a complementary copy from the author.

Absolutely adorable!

She is a big city transplant who’s dream was to open a bakery in a small town and find love with a local Christmas tree farmer. She found the first with relative ease. Two years later she found love but with someone incredibly unexpected.

He is a big city lawyer who comes with a friend/client to this small town for the holidays. He falls in love with the town as much as he does her.

It’s so cute watching them find a new rhythm with each other and when it falls apart they are smacked upside the head (metaphorically) by people they love and find their way back to each other in the most beautiful and funny way!

Oh my this book was so cute! I am absolutely loving this town and how everyone helps each other and all the characters from the other books are there and the timelines overlap and some of the events are briefly mentioned!

Gah!! I’m going to be so sad when I have to leave this town for a while! It sounds like all the authors so far have spin offs in at least idea form though! So that’s even cooler!

And while this book has open door sex scenes I like how Sara writes them to be so sensual! Descriptive is fun and absolutely works but this book had sensual and sexual blended so beautifully the whole way through since the whole theme of her bakery was naughty innuendos and plays on words!

Book 3 in the Hideaway Harbor series is "The Holiday Whoopie" by Sara L. Hudson. I am having so much fun with this series — it's the perfect mix of holiday cheer and spice wrapped in a literary package. This time, we have a Hollywood hotshot lawyer meets a small-town baker with a touch of enemies to lovers.

I had the exciting chance to read this book before publication. Let's dig in!

Holiday Euphemisms, anyone?

This book is chalk full of holiday euphemisms, starting with Audrey's bakery being named Making Whoopie. You can see where I'm going with this. Hudson is a witty writer, for sure, which made this an enjoyable and fun read. Our main character, Jack, was the biggest culprit of these holiday euphemisms.

Overall, I liked the dynamics between Audrey and Jack. They were, seemingly, complete opposites that just worked when they got together. However, the relationship seemed a little too rushed for me. I wouldn't categorize this as insta-love, but I'd say it's insta-love adjacent. I don't really know what drew them to one another, as we didn't really know too much about Audrey. She was a closed book in the story. I think Jack's character was fleshed out really well to the point where I felt like I knew him and his feelings. Despite this, the tension between them were spicier than some of the whoopies Audrey baked. PHEW!!!

"The Holiday Whoopie" was a super quick read. It's perfect for a these cold weekends approaching as we near the holiday season. I read this book in less than two days! It was a sweet, fun read that had me laughing as I turned the pages. Plus, Jack was a true book boyfriend who would do anything for Audrey, and he truly did in the end. Boyfriend goals, you guys.

I wish we would have gotten more of a story with Audrey's mom because I was intrigued by that storyline. What I loved was seeing more of the characters from the previous Hideaway Harbor series, like Portia and Amanda from book 1. The author did a good job with weaving in these characters into Audrey and Jack's overall storyline!

What to expect while reading "The Holiday Whoopie:"

Hot shot Hollywood type falls for small town baker.

A load of holiday euphemisms that will have you blushing and laughing.

A male character that will uproot his life for the female character.

The perfect epilogue that lets us know where Jack and Audrey end up.

Two workaholics who make a relationship work.

A craving for whoopie cakes. Seriously, where can I find one near me?

Be sure to check out "The Holiday Whoopie" when it releases November 11! You may want to have a whoopie cake nearby because you will sure be craving one as you read.

Yes!!

I'm back in Hideaway Harbor for my second read in this brilliant new series after absolutely loving The Holiday Fakers by Evie Alexander.

I've not read this author before but I absolutely adored this little seaside small town and all it's festive goodness and I just couldn't wait to dive right in and meet some new residents.

Now this is something a little bit different and forms part of a series set in Hideaway Harbor containing 6 books, all written by different authors.

This is listed as book 3 (and I read book 2 first) but I believe that it really doesn't matter what order we read these in as although the settings and some of the characters overlap, there are no spoilers between the different books - which I loved!

In this book we meet Audrey and her mouth-watering delicious little pastry shop Making Whoopie.

Having made it big as a top pastry chef in the city, she'd followed her heart to Hideaway in the hope of finding joy, but 2 years on and she's still a stickler for work and perfection.

Hollywood lawyer, Jack, is in town with a client and has not come prepared for all that this community has in store for the festive period - but soon his walls come down and the Grinch in him finds his heart.

I was a little apprehensive at first if I'm honest as I really didn't love Audrey.

Her initial instant judgement of Jack seemed unfair and I really felt sad for him.

However, as we learn more about the character's backgrounds, it becomes clear why she acted that way towards him and it was also pretty clear that the two had some serious chemistry!

I loved the overlapping settings and some of the other characters popping up in passing which tied the two reads together and once again, showed just how gorgeous this little community is.

We don't get involved in quite as many of the town festive activities, but this seemed to fit with the way these two characters worked - both alone and together - and we lose none of those festive vibes still.

The writing style flowed on perfectly and I absolutely got sucked back into Hideaway - honestly, I want to go and live there!

I loved every second of this read - the character development, the innuendos, the spice and of course Skippy and Mike - oh how I laughed! (Iykyk)

I'm obsessed! and can't wait to read more from both this series and this author!

thank you to the author sara l. hudson (@sara_l_hudson) for providing me with an arc for an honest review

can i just say i extremely love it when a man falls first and HARD. books that have male characters like this, i just will eat it up.

the holiday whoopie is a holiday novella that is hits all the hallmark feels. this book is a cutesy and spicy romance set in a small town in maine. one thing i love about the holidays is the baking and yummy treats. the holiday whoopie had exactly that.

once i started reading, i am introduced to hideaway habor’s local baker, audrey, owner of Making Whoopie. it is a cute little bakery that is filled with many dirty innuendos. according to audrey, “if it’s not morally questionable, it’s not dirty enough.” then i meet the second main character, jack, who is an entertainment lawyer. he is only in hideaway because of amanda, who is an hollywood actor.

first impressions are everything, unfortunately, that is not the case for audrey and jack. they got off on a rocky start, but they quickly fell for each other. sara illustrated how soft-hearted and caring jack was. it is assumed that he is a grinch in the beginning of the book, but his actions changes.

the holiday whoopie was my first book by sara l. hudson. i really love and enjoyed her writing. i will be checking out her other books.

“dangerous thing to offer up your whoopie to a man with a sweet tooth”

Holiday Whoopie Feels Like Coming Home for Christmas!

I will admit, this is also my first Christmas book of the season, which in and of itself is a crime against the holidays, but I'll get a few more under my belt before the holidays are over.

I've read all of Sara L. Hudson's space books more than once, but this is very different... a small town, more or less regular people, with small town lives and big dreams. It's part of a larger series of books that are from the same town, but not directly related (I definitely want to check out some of the other books in the series).

Jack is just so warm and lovely, and other than his first impression (not good, my friend, not good) he is the quintessential book boyfriend. A big city lawyer who doesn't really suit his Hollywood image. I love his warmth and willingness to step in and help and how he thinks of every thing and every way to make Audrey see how truly valued she is in her little town.

And Audrey is a definite Type A personality who is relentlessly devoted to her bakery. I've never had a true Whoopie Pie, but drooled through the author's descriptions, so one day... She's warm and kind to everyone and rarely thinks of herself. So much so, she is on the fast-track to Burnoutsville. Their heat is more lovely than fiery, but I love when an author is such a good writer that she doesn't have to rely on shock and awe (not that I haven't read and loved both!).

I hope Sara L. Hudson writes more of this kind of book. I can't wait to see where she goes next.

This was a fun and steamy read and I enjoyed it a lot. I love the banter and mishaps between Audrey and Jack. Plus you have the other people in town playing matchmaker, which is fun. This story takes place in Hideaway Harbor, which I wish was real and could visit. The town has so much Christmas spirit, events, and town pride. I would highly recommend this book if you are looking for a Christmas get away and some spice, whoopie pies, great banter, and locals who want to help.
Audrey left her big city pastry chef job to start a bakery in Hideaway Harbor two years ago. She puts in a ton of work in her bakery and helping everyone out in town. The Christmas season is starting and she has new Christmas themed Whoopie Pies to sell. When she sees Amanda, the movie star, standing in line at her shop, she decides to prevent chaos by bringing the pies to her. When she does, she hears Jack Lourd make a snide comment about the town. Audrey tries to ignore her attraction to Jack and put him in his place. Jack on the other hand is in town to help Amanda with her commitments for the festivities and is taken aback by all the decorations for Christmas. Then he sees Audrey, who he is immediately attracted too, and is cut out of the conversation for his comment. Not used to being cut out of the conversation, he tries again and fails. Then the next day at the Christmas tree lighting things take a different turn and Audrey starts to thaw toward Jack. The two then seem to around each other at different events and eventually start helping each other. Watch out then because things get hot and it's not the oven.
I received this book as an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is the first book that I've read by Sara Hudson. This book is one of six standalone stories written by six different authors and takes place in Hideaway Harbor during the Holidays.

I was pulled into the story right away and felt emotionally connected with the characters. You need to bring your sweet tooth with a side of attitude for this one! What happens when an award winning Pastry Chef meets a Hollywood Agent Lawyer during the holidays? You get a recipe that is sweet, savory with a slip of heat that slowly builds into intensely spicy negotiations!

Sara has created wonderful characters that you can relate to while also successfully embracing the small town atmosphere with an abundance of holiday cheer. I really appreciate how in addition to the main characters there are multiple crossover characters between the six stories that you get a little bit more each time, as if they jumped from the pages from one book to the next!

After reading this book, I need me some Whoopie Pies labeled with awesome naughty innuendo titles (wish there was a "Making Whoopie" bakery near me!).

This was a fun, entertaining, charming, and spicy story that will pull you into the holiday spirit and keep you wanting more!

The Holiday Whoopie is the third installment in The Hideaway Harbor Christmas series. Audrey is the owner/operator of Making Whoopie, the whoopie pie bakery in Hideaway. She moved to the small town to open her bakery after working at The Ritz in NYC - and winning a James Beard award. Still a Type A who wants to please her mother, she is focusing on getting to whatever the next bar is that she sets for herself that she thinks will make her mother proud. Which is at odds with her reason for moving to the town - to settle down and find herself a Hallmark worthy tree farmer. Jack is joining his friend and client in the small town to get away from Hollywood. They immediately start off on the wrong foot when Audrey hears Jack speaking ill of the town she loves. Circumstances keep putting them together and he offers to help when she receives a cease and desist letter telling her to change the name of her business.

The series is interconnected, but you don't have to read the books in any particular order (my order so far has been 2, 1, 3 and I didn't have any issues or spoilers). The story is told from the POVs of Audrey and Jack so, while the characters may doubt how the other feels about them, the reader never does. I absolutely LOVED all of the names of the whoopie pies (Maple Me Moan was my personal favorite) and really started to feel like I'd be much happier reading this curled up on the couch with one! I especially love a romance with a bit of humor and spice and this had it all. The back and forth between Audrey and Jack and the mishaps they kept finding themselves in made this such a joy to read. And I laughed out loud when one of the characters was described as a festive meerkat. I've been loving this series and am really happy that it sounds like all of the authors have ideas for others (hopefully next Christmas!).

Thanks to BookFunnel and Sara L. Hudson for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is actually book number three from a six book series called Hideaway Harbor and each book can easily be read as a stand alone. They are all spicy romantic comedies, written by six different authors, can be read in any order and are interconnected stand alones too.

The Holiday Whoopie is a wonderful Christmassy story and is very funny, very romantic and very spicy too.

I loved Audrey the small-town baker and Jack the out-of-town lawyer, they were both down-to-earth lovable characters and i really enjoyed getting to know them both and learning all about their wonderful story.

This book is full of small-town vibes, is sugary sweet, heart stoppingly hot, makes your heart skip a beat, has forced proximity, opposites attract, a swoonworthy hero and funny banter and also there are maps…and i do love a book with a map - perfect!!

Really more of a 3 1/2-3.75

Cute and easy Christmas read. Lawyer to the stars falls for a baker of whoopie pies, that is there trying to make her way after quitting the NYC hustle and compete world of accolades and stress against her mothers advice/read support. Lawyer hasn't had his own family since childhood and maybe doesn't feel completely that his foster family (of his childhood friend) quite cuts it. He is taken in by the town and the support while watching Audrey struggle with accepting her success with both the town and her business. Jack seems to easily blend into the new environment even when he didn't want to be there. Through some fun accidents and happenings, Jack is able to worm his way into Audrey's life and start the fun between them rolling but it is a slow burn, but lights up when it gets there. It was a very easy and satisfying Christmas romance.

Love and whoopie pies

I loved this small town holiday romance. It’s a funny, heartwarming and spicy story with two intense, strong and passionate characters who are also real and relatable. This love story gave me all the swoony swoons while also pulling at my heartstrings with all the emotions. Audrey owns and runs the bakery, Making Whoopie, in the small Christmas obsessed town of Hideaway Harbor. She is a type A baker trying to make her business profitable and using all of her energy to do so but still looking for the Hallmark love story. Jack is Type A entertainment lawyer and an agent for movie stars. He lives in California and comes to Hideaway Harbor with one of his actress clients. Grumpy about being in a snow covered small town at holiday time, he is not initially a fan of the aggressive festivity of the town. The two become unlikely partners/coworkers when he needs her WiFi and she needs his legal help. And the more time they spend together the more the sparks fly but getting from temporary we don’t even live on the same coast to forever will require some baggage unpacking and some life rearranging. I loved how as their intimacy deepened, they chipped away at each other’s rigid lives and the boxes they’d caged themselves into moment by moment and interaction by interaction. I am loving this quirky holiday obsessed town and am excited to read more stories set in it. 4.5 stars.

4 Star Review The Holiday Whoopie (Hideaway Harbor # 3) by Sara L. Hudson

Ebook/Audio
Well written, you cannot help but be drawn into the story that the author wove. This is lawyer Jack Lourd and baker Audrey Nouel’s story and was a good addition to the series.

I enjoy grumpy stories and this was a good example as both were definitely that.

Their meet cute was fun and it was entertaining to watch as their relationship developed.

Narrated by Ryan Dunlap and Kari Hollowell who are both new to me. Not only did they bring all the passion and humour to life with their narration, but they did justice to the wonderful characters that Ms. Hudson created. Their voices are easy to listen too and brought the story to life for me.

This is the first book I read by Sarah Hudson and it was just the first of many now. First of all I wish Audrey’s bakery was real and I could go try them all. Second, I wish there were recipes for some of the whoopies. Third the chemistry between Audrey and Jack was steamy. Audrey tried so hard to not fall for Jack all while Jack was working very hard to wiggle his way in. Jack did have to discover he was much more than just a lawyer and I loved that his family reminded him of who he is. That he was already who he needed to be for Audrey. Audrey had to realize that she was still strong and okay to let Jack love her. Great easy read! It also showcased the town and how amazing Hideaway Harbor is. Another great book in this series!! Can’t wait more.

The Holiday Whoopie

Pastry chef, Audrey, moved to Hideaway Harbor to start her own bakery. She buried herself in her work and kept dreaming of what her future would be.

Hollywood agent/lawyer, Jack, came to Hideaway to support his client. He didn't expect to find his own happiness there.

Sara has written another fun story, full of witty banter, funny situations, heart warming moments and great characters. And speaking of characters, if you have read Sara's "Anyone But You" series, a certain feline makes an appearance in this book.

Audrey and Jack don't get off to a good start but it makes for so much fun watching their back and forth whilst they push and pull at each other.
We also get to see their fragile sides as they finally open up to each other, allowing their true feelings to take centre stage. Sara has again given us such wonderfully well rounded characters that you can't help but fall in love with. As the third book in the 'Christmas at Hideaway Harbor' series, you also get to interact with characters you've met before which just enhances the story. Grab this book, along with the others in the series, when is comes out on November 11th.

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book, and it was an absolutely delightful Christmas romance! I love Hideway Harbour, and these characters were easy to fall in love with. I loved the way Jack showed his love for Audrey. Swoon. This book, like the others in the series, features the amazing people from the community. Love the familiarity of the town and the opportunity to get to know new, wonderful characters. I've never had a whoopie pie, and I NEED to fix that. I highly recommend this book if only for the names and the descriptions of the whoopie pies alone - SO IMPRESSIVE.

ARC Review:
Audrey came to the small town of Hideaway Harbor to get away from city life and open a bakery specializing in Whoopie Pies. She is loved by the town but still feels that she doesn’t quite fit in. Jack comes to town with his movie star client and falls under Audrey’s spell of sugar and cinnamon. The town has horrible Wi-Fi and Audrey’s bakery is the only place Jack can get a signal, to work. Jack starts to help out at the bakery and he and Audrey build a friendship that is laced with sexual tension. The only problem is that Jack is leaving after Christmas and if Audrey isn’t careful, he will be leaving with her heart. I loved this story and look forward to continuing on in Hideaway Harbor.

Another great book from the Hideaway Harbor Series, I am loving the Christmassy vibes.

Audrey and Jack are so meant for each other and I’m glad they got their HEA.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a lighthearted read, with feel good vibes and a sprinkling of sauciness.

I received an Advanced reader copy of this book for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

And thus concludes my Christmas romcom reads for 2025. It was funny and schmultzy (and has a terrible title)...everything needed for a small town baker meets a big city lawyer set up. It lost me in the third act trope and epilogue but the story was cute enough for what it is (though Skippy should've made a reappearance).
