I went to his office expecting to change myself. I wanted to be someone else—look like the girls my husband was spending his nights with, but I got a different kind of procedure… one that left me wanting things I shouldn’t and seeing myself in a new light. Now everything I thought I wanted doesn’t matter anymore, and Dr. Roman is all I can think about.
ROMAN BLAKE
As a professional, I should know my limits, but Samantha Aldridge pushes me in a way I’ve never known. The need to be near her is strong, the desire to touch her inflames me, but the respect that lies within continuously wins. She came into my office wanting me to change her, but instead she changed me.

”She wanted to be beautiful, but what she didn’t realize was that she already was. Gorgeous in fact, but thanks to her husband, she’d lost sight of her self-worth.”
Samantha Aldridge’s marriage of nine years has deteriorated to the point that her husband, Michael doesn’t think twice about having sex with other women in their home, bringing other dates to work events and belittling and demeaning her at every turn. Samantha has lost her parents, doesn’t have friends and is panicked by the thought that she isn’t good enough for her husband.
”My humiliation became a sport and his source of power, building his ego and giving him a false sense of being a man.”
”No matter what I had to do, I’d make him want me again. No matter what.”
Samantha seeks out the best in the field of plastic surgery even if he only deals with reconstructive patients at the present. She wants the best to make her beautiful.
Samantha’s meeting with Dr. Roman Blake doesn’t go as she wished but she does get his attention and later he decides to help her.
"I'll make you a deal. You spend the time with me and if after the month you don't feel any differently about your choice to have the surgery,"...."then I'll do it."
Roman was a great character. He labels their time together as “her procedure” with things like a spa and make over visit, jogging, visiting his patients, animal shelters and slowly Samantha finds herself and the two fall slowly in love.
What I liked about this story was the steps Samantha takes for herself. Roman’s fall for her and of course Michael’s demise…
Well it doesn’t go that well, but he does loss in the end.
Overall, this isn’t a smut read but a story of Samantha’s steps towards discovery and self-worth with the aid of one sweet doctor.
”Samantha Aldridge was perfect. She had no idea how much so.”
This was a lovely story and I loved every minute of it. First of all, it’s one of the few stories that you can actually call the hero— a hero. Roman really saved Samantha from herself and the bastard she had for a husband.
I felt so much for Sam and wanted to console her when her husband treated her badly. Sam was very loyal to him, even if he thought of her as old and unworthy. Urgh, I wanted to kick his ass. Normally, this type of MC would drive me insane to the point of hating the book, but I found that Samantha was real. I wish she had loved herself more but I also understood her situation. What Dr. Roman did for her was amazing.
But why not 5 stars then? I guess the romantic in me wanted to read more about Roman and Sam as a couple. Also the last 10% is to blame. It was all too rushed and unnecessary things happened.
In conclusion: likeable characters, enganging storyline, tender moments… and some other things. It has the right amount of sweetness and angst without being over the top.
Well, I like it. I thought it was bad because everyone describes the heroine as a pathetic doormat, but I don’t think so. She has an abusive husband. One that has been eroding her confidence for years. He has also been cheating on her for the last years, and she knows him. She find him in bed with a much younger woman and the bastard has not even the decency of being ashamed. She decides then to go to a plastic surgeon, the best in town, but he refuses to do anything to her because he’s only doing reconstructive surgery now. And in the same time he falls in insta love for her. So, while the heroine would like to have her husband back, at least for the first quarter of the book, he tries to build up her self confidence. They fall in love, and eventually the heroine leaves the husband and divorces him, getting pregnant with the hero’s child. This story was quite good because the hero is the good one, and the heroine leaves the husband even when he tells her he has changed and only loves her. This heroine has not even one doubt about who she loves and who she wants in the end. I don’t think she was a doormat. She was an abused woman, and lacked of self confidence. Years and years of belittling and abusive words made her unable to believe she was a very attractive woman. The only person she had was her husband, he is the typical abusive narcissist who is unable to have only one person and can’t accept that anyone is better than him, but hates to be dumped. And actually when the heroine finds her self esteem again, he loses his arrogant facade and begs her to reconsider. She doesn’t. I liked the hero, he’s really a good and strong man, with a tragic past, but so good and in love with the heroine. They are a perfect couple and I even love that in the end they have a child, and the loser husband knows it. In the end the husband is a little less nasty but I didn’t believe him for one second. And I wasn’t interested in him as a person anyway.
The woman is is boring, submissive. I hate this. She's so stupid. The husband is a dick. Mother fucker of hell. The doctor saved all the book. He's cute, intelligent, confident. He knows what to say and when to say.
I just show you how I see you, and I treat you how every woman should be treated. I respect your mind, and I think your words matter. I not only find you beautiful, but I find your heart and compassion beautiful, too.
She finally see that f*** husband deserves nothing and she starts to live.
He deserved all of me and more. He deserved the real Samantha.
This history is about discovering of yourself, of how to live and like and enjoy you and you body as you are. This is what matters, not the rest.
There is nothing I detest more than a weak heroine. A heroine that allows a man to walk all over her, with no self-respect, self-worth, no back bone. Nothing. What made me so mad with this story is that, all the cheating the heroines husband did, instead of wanting to hurt where it hurts most (bank account) she wants to have a whole procedure done, like a whole make over from top to bottom of surgery. What in the hell is wrong with you? Start with a diet if you are so unhappy? Get a self help book? Jeez, you really a lonely, bored housewife. Then what bothered me is - why is the husband the way he is? Why hasn't the author gotten into his mind and explained things for him? We get to see her, we get to meet the hero but not the villain, and why not? WHAT made him be the way he is?
I wish she would have included it, it would have made me feel better about the heroine wanting to constantly give him a 100007th chance, and maybe feel something other than disgust for her and the villain (husband). It would have made a better book, but hey - just my opinion.
Samantha Aldridge walks into a sight that simply devastates, not only her heart and her pride, but also her confidence, and it seems that from there on, nothing can help her gain them back. As she carries on with her life, she comes to know of famous plastic surgeon, Roman Blake and decides to get the courage to seek him out to help her win her husband back.
Sexy Brit, Dr. Roman Blake became a plastic surgeon for his own personal reasons, and when Samantha comes into his office to ask his help in "remaking her to a newer Samantha", he can't believe she would even think she needed to do that. Roman has a couple of secrets that made him be the doctor he is today and, because of those reasons, he decides he want to help Samantha.
Roman and Samantha start this beautiful friendship that is supposed to be one sided - Roman helping Samantha see her true worth and beauty inside, and especially, outside. But as it turns out, Samantha helps Roman see that the past is what helps one to become a better person for the future.
Reading the beautiful words and compliments Roman gave Samantha had me all googly and smiling like a fool but, to be honest, who of us doesn't like to be reminded of the beautiful qualities we have? Roman's objective wasn't to fall in love with Samantha but when the heart is involved, it's hard to tell it otherwise.
I would not say this is a love triangle per say because…. Well, when you read the first couple of chapters you will see and say, “Ahhh ok, go for him, Samantha!” I just cannot express how much I loved Roman and Samantha's journey to heal each other in ways they never knew was possible. One thing I really loved was the sexual chemistry that kept building up until it exploded like a cart full of fireworks=====BOOM!!
The Procedure is by far one of my favorite books this year. Hands down!! Once again, Ms. Vargo and Ms. Andrea, you have outdone yourselves and I simply can't wait until you collaborate again!! The epilogue was just....beautiful. Yes, I will admit I want more of Samantha and Roman so, maybe, just maybe??? ~ Kara, 6 F*cking Amazing Beautiful stars

I loved this book! Once I started reading, I didn't stop and when I had to stop, I was still thinking about it and what was going to happen next.
Samantha is a woman who has lost who she is, and Roman is the sexy doctor determined to change the way she views herself. Samantha and Roman had amazing chemistry. They didn't have and easy road to travel for their relationship, but that made them a great couple. When I read the blurb for this book, I knew I had to read it, and it didn't disappoint.
Though they began as a doctor and patient, they quickly became more. Suddenly, Samantha began wanting to change for her husband less and less. Roman was quite the gentleman and tried for as long as he could to keep them from having anything more than a professional relationship. Yet, over the course of the "procedure", the lines became blurred.
Roman did a great job of showing Samantha how amazing she was. She had been put down by her husband for so long that she had no self-worth. I loved how he helped transform he back into her old self. When they finally let themselves have each other, the sparks were flying. They were meant for each other.
"I can see everything--all that you are--and I never want to let you go."
Roman saw Samantha in a way no one else had, especially her husband. He fell for her hard. He loved her so much; he always tried to do what was best for her. Though at one point, when he made a decision for her that he thought was best, I wanted to yell at him -- I thought that he was crazy and she should make that decision for herself. In the end, it was probably the best thing for both of them and their relationship. So I guess the doctor knew what he was doing.
I loved the ending. The decisions they both had made made them better people. They made each other better. The epilogue was so cute, even though it was short. I usually prefer a long epilogue, but this one was great despite the length. I can't wait to read more from these authors! ~ Leah, 5 stars
I liked the premise of this story, but unfortunately the doormat heroine did not work for me. Samantha walks in on her husband having sex with OW (IN HER OWN BED) and decides she needs to do more to make her husband want her.... WTF?! She doesn't have children, he treats her like shit and he has no redeeming qualities. Why wouldn't she just leave? The cheating husband isn't the hero but I just couldn't get behind this type of heroine, she was just too pathetic.
Samantha Aldridge is beautiful inside and out. She however feels that she is not, this is because her husband. Matthew Aldridge a well know successful attorney who has no problem having a different woman every night despite being married to Samantha. Samantha wants so desperately to get the man she fell in love with back. She goes in the best surgeon in town, Roman Blake. He however gives her a change that she wasn't bargaining for.
Roman Blake a professional, attractive and caring. Meeting Samantha has done something to his inner self. He knows her husband and never in a million years would he want to destroy a marriage. He is so attracted to this woman and he know that she doesn't need a surgery she is beyond perfect in his eyes. He wants to help her little did he know she was helping him.
Tabatha Vargo & Melissa Andrea novel titled The Procedure. I fell it deep love with these true writers in Little Black Book, that had me one clicking ever title they have. The Procedure was amazing, perfect writing, just a powerful story of change. I made a big mistake starting this novel late at night that had me reading to the sun came up, I couldn't put it down. The way these authors connected the reader in the first sentence is not only powerful but addicting. You feel like you know these characters personally you bond with them so emotionally. Page after page it like watching a movie that you don't want to end. This novel is the kind that you can re-read time after time and just smile once you get to your favorite part! I thoroughly enjoyed this story and as a woman it gives you a keen sense of your personal outlook on yourself. I wish there was a way to give a thousand star review because I would. Thanks you ladies for all your stories you never disappoint! This will be one of my favorite reads of 2015. I recommend this highly and love to gift this book to readers so they have the experience I had!
The Procedure is a 5 Star Read!

I had the pleasure of reading Little Black Book which is another one of Tabatha and Melissa's books together and I really REALLY loved it. I just knew that I had to read The Procedure immediately and while I knew that I would love it, it was nothing like I expected it to be.
Little Black Book kind of had a dark feel to the writing, so I guess I was expecting the same of The Procedure but boy was I wrong. The Procedure was definitely a lighter read and I loved everything about it. The characters were lovable and I sympathized with them so much. Samantha is in a loveless marriage but she wants to win her husband back. Roman Blake is a renowned plastic surgeon and Samantha wants Roman to make her beautiful. He totally does, but not in the way you think. Roman is sweet and kind and such an amazing book boyfriend. I mean, hello, he is a British doctor that does reconstructive surgery on people that REALLY need it; burn victims and such. He is just a good soul and he is bound and determined to make Samantha feel beautiful; on the inside. At some point along this mission to give Samantha her self confidence back, he falls for her.
"I can't believe you did this for me," "Haven't you figured it out yet, Samantha?" "Figured out what?" "There isn't much I wouldn't do for you."
Gosh, he just really touched my heart. I know some of you are apprehensive about a cheater book but man Samantha's husband is a complete douche so I didn't feel that bad for him, honestly. And Samantha and Roman's chemistry is just so amazing. They are just ridiculously sexy and I loved them together so much!
I love it it is really romantic beautiful and one of the best story I have read till now..
I think it is a little bit because of my mood. but book is really nice, characters are sweet and like a real life heroes. Im really jelaous of Samantha.lets look at the what is story about.
samantha is in love with her husband Michael from their wedding day but everything is different now there is no love in her huband's heart for his wife but other sluttish girls .he is bastard and monster. he cheats his lovely wife and does not care .moreover one day Samantha sees her husband with a bimbo in their bedroom and can not say anything to her husband. that bastard does not even care his wife catch them and he makes an offer to his wife to join them. later samantha find herself in the door of a plastic surgeon hospital. she wants to Dr. blake make herself beautiful so her husband does not cheat her again.
This is story of a girl changing and learning how being confident again with herself and her body. Blake makes an offer because he believes that she is already so beautiful and does not need any operation or other things. but this is not easy for him and he understands that he has to be so strong and decisive. they start to spent time together and find themselves in love ..
but he knows that this is impossible for him because she is another man's wife...
just read it ı hope you will cry and laugh a lot while reading it.. I like it and I believe it was really great pleasure to read this book ...
it would of gotten a five star but for a plot turn that never should of happened where/when it did towards the end. I know the story was pure sugar but this made the sugar a little impure by coming along when it did.
This was a nice read. What i didn't like, and couldn't stand is Sam being a doormat , worse than that actually... heck change herself? for a cheating husband? to see her beautiful....come on, she is only 30 it's not like she is old, she didn't have a backbone at all ..just meeeehhh. I could probably understand if her husband wasn't such a duche, and parade them in her bed, that was insane, her non reaction, just COME ON, i wanted to slap her, not him. It's her fault they get the way they did, because she didn't stop it, she didn't leave, she did nothing, no self respect , no nothing. As her relationship with Roman? that was sweet, and sad at the same time, a lot of women are like her unfortunately and i can't stand them, especially in her situation, she wasn't abused, she loved him ,more than herself, no self respect.
I wish I could give this book more stars! It was sweet, heartwarming, heart wrenching (at times) and just downright romantic. Roman is the type of man every woman deserves. He was equal parts sexy but as well as a gentleman. The way he was with Samantha melted my heart. I have to admit, I was expecting this book to take a different route with Roman and his "procedure" (making the story a bit predictable) but in was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. It made the book even more enjoyable and hard to put down. I loved it from start to finish!
Beautiful story.Only lacking in that husband's behavior was never explained. This dearth in the storyline however, did kind of drive me nuts, even as the main focus was meant to be on the interactions and relationship between Samantha and Roman!
Denial is an awful thing to live with, especially when the thing you have worked so hard to deny for years gets confirmed in the worst possible way. After literally walking in on her husband cheating with a much younger woman, and confirming what she has suspected for the last few years, Samantha wants to change. Except this change is not for her, it's for him-- the douchebag husband. She wants to be noticed again- to lose the "waif" of a woman she has become the last few years and to stop feeling like she has no one else left in her life. So, she decides to do whatever it takes for Michael (the cheater) to notice her again.
This brings her to the best plastic surgeon in town, Dr. Roman Blake. As a huge fan of the show Nip/Tuck, when I pictured Dr. Blake, all I could picture was Dr. Christian Troy and hello I was sold! Plus he is British and he is sweet, caring, sensitive, and sexy- score number two for Dr. Blake!
“I can see everything- all that you are- and I never want to let you go.”
Normally Roman only does reconstructive surgery, that's his number one rule. But when he meets Samantha he can't resist helping her; but not in the way she expected. When he offers her an indecent proposal of sorts, she finds she can't say no and he finds he can’t stay away from her.
“Confidence isn’t walking into a room with your nose in the air. It’s walking into a room without having to make any comparisons to the people around you.”
Gah...my initial reaction to Samantha was embarrassment. I was embarrassed by how she handled her husband cheating and embarrassed (and pretty appalled) that she stuck around and let him continue to treat her that way. I wanted her to have a backbone at that point and start throwing stuff, stick up for herself, or at the very least tell him to F$@# off! Seriously, at first she was a huge coward and so weak! Thankfully she redeemed herself and finally found her self-worth with Roman’s help. I enjoyed this story and felt like it had a good message. However, I felt like the last 10% of the book was extremely rushed and I felt like this part of the story didn’t flow with the rest of the book. If you are looking for an easy read, with a good message, and a sexy doctor, then this book is worth a read!

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS - Samantha is married to Michael but he hasn't touched her in over a year. She comes home to find him banging a perky young woman & Michael has the nerve to tease her about joining them. Samantha's weak reaction to her husband's infidelity shows how insecure she has become, thanks to Michael's constant ridicule & his obvious cheating. Samantha seeks out hot British cosmetic surgeon Dr. Roman Blake & vows to make Michael want her again by updating her looks. Roman's specialty is limited to reconstructive surgery & he sends Samantha on her way. After Roman is a witness to Michael's cruel demeaning behavior he accepts the challenge to update Samantha's outlook on life but not through his scalpel. Roman becomes a life coach of sorts by creating a bucket list of things Samantha needs to experience to get back to her old self, her pre-Michael self, to learn to love herself again. In the process Samantha isn't the only one who loves her. Her attitude towards Michael has certainly changed & sure, it feels great that he's jealous but come on, you can't erase all of the mental abuse Michael has caused. In the end Roman feels like Samantha needs to take one last look at her marriage so he knows he wasn't standing in the way of Samantha's happiness. Little does he know that Samantha uses their time apart very wisely all while holding the love & adoration she has for Roman. Great, great book. Roman is hot & sexy but incredibly sweet, exactly what Samantha needs to boost her ego again. I loved the whole cosmetic surgery spin on the story which is very timely in that so many woman are changing their looks to the extreme, but inside they are so damaged. Fantastic ending too! All I wanted was for Samantha to get the life she deserved and with Roman she certainly does. :)
I was super excited about reading this book. Right away I connected with Samantha. I wanted to crawl into my kindle and just hug her. She was perfect just the way she was. But after so long of feeling unwanted and not good enough, she felt like the only way to fit in and please her husband was to change everything about herself. The first time she met Roman and explained her story to him, I literally had tears in my eyes. At one point, everyone in there life has been where Samantha was and Roman wanted to show her she could be better.
I loved Roman right from the beginning. He was so sweet, caring and wanted Samantha to embrace her beauty. I could understand why he didn’t want to change Samantha. There was nothing wrong with her but also Roman was fighting his own demons from his past. Roman makes a deal with Samantha to try and show her she was good enough and didn’t need to change anything about herself. But when Samantha and Roman start hanging out feelings surface and things completely change for both of them.
I love how this book is told in both POVs. I love being able to connect with both characters feelings and emotions. Let me state how much I HATE with a passion Samantha’s husband. It’s been a while since I felt that much rage against a character but no matter what he did I will always hate him. I wanted to throat punch him multiple times. He was a complete DOUCHEBAG!!! Samantha deserves so much better and I was pulling for her to become stronger from the very beginning. I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to more books from both authors!!!
Samantha Aldridge is in a marriage where love doesn't exist anymore. Her husband doesn't even try to hide his infidelities from her or the public. This does very little to help her dwindling self esteem. This brings her to Dr. Roman Blake's office in search of plastic surgery. The 'Procedure' that he performs on her not only changes her, but changes Roman as well.
Samantha is like a lot of women. They look in the mirror and they are so blinded by the imperfections that they don't realize how beautiful they really are. Imperfections are beautiful. Roman helps her realize that the only changes she needs to make, are understanding that she shouldn't change a thing about herself.
Don't expect to pick up this book and read lots of sex scenes. It's about anticipation and the build up with Samantha and Roman. She is broken, emotionally. Samantha must realize that she deserves much better than the treatment she had been receiving from her marriage.
The ending was a little bit of a let down. Samantha's husband's reaction at first, is understandable. Then it changes. This is a guy who has been putting down his wife for years. He's unreasonable and not a good person. I just expected his reaction to follow along the lines of how his character was portrayed.
All in all, this book was full of angst and had a message that every woman needs to know. You are perfect, just the way you are.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Who doesn't love a man that makes you feel better about yourself anytime he is around? Roman Blake needs to start giving seminars to men on how to treat women, I think they could learn a few things from him!!
Samantha has been married for 9 years but hasn't been "happy" or felt loved in over a year. Her husband has no concern for her and always has a new woman on his arm at events. So she decides she needs to make her beautiful so that he will want her again. In comes...
Roman Blake..the most sought after reconstructive surgeon in the Miami area. He is also a HOT bachelor!! He has made it his life's goal to help out people who have been in horrible disfiguring accidents to not only look better but to gain more self esteem. When Samantha walks in an asks for help, it infuriates him that a beautiful woman would come in ask him that. But something calls to him and he decides that he will help her but not the way she wants. He will show her how to win her husband's affections back but what will it cost Roman in the end?
Samantha and Roman..what can I say about the two of them! I loved how Roman was able to show Samantha the true her and bring the flower back to it's original glorious bloom!! The chemistry between them was burning my kindle up!!! Such a great story!!
She wants to be someone else to feel loved. He refuses to give that to her in the way she wants.
I was intrigued by the story at first but quickly became disengaged from it. Although the writing was okay and free from glaring grammatical errors I found it hard to fully connect with the story.
I did connect with the heroine a bit in the beginning with her self esteem issues, as I think most women could, but then found myself wanting to shake her to knock some sense into her. Although I knew she wanted to change I felt it was never for herself even in the end. As someone who has been wading through similar issues I found this disheartening.
Roman Blake is your typical hero. Wanting to make things better for Stephanie he takes her on an unorthodox path of finding herself again. I did want to fist pump him for this a few times. He knew what she needed and refused to give her what she wanted. He probably was my favorite character in the book.
Overall, this book was not for me personally but if you love this author or stories of overcoming self esteem issues you may want to pick this one up. Of course you can never go wrong with a hot British doctor.
Samantha's marriage isn't all that great. She wants to fix things and by doing so she goes to see Dr. Roman Blake.
Roman he isn't going to help Samantha the way she wants. He will help her find her self confidence and inner beauty.
Along the way they fall in love with each other. They try and fight their feelings but they couldn't hold off any longer. The trigger for Samantha was her husband, who again and again has hurt her not only physically but emotionally too.
I loved Roman,he treated Sam the way a woman should be treated, needs to be treated. Sam always tore herself down. I couldn't stand her at first. How can a woman allow to let herself be treated by her husband the way she did? Finally she was standing up for herself.
When they finally admitted they loved each other I was like FINALLY. I wondered how things were going to turn out. I thought Michael, Sam's husband was going to do something really, really bad. I mean he did but not that major.
What is the Procedure you ask? What happens? Do they have a HEA? You need to find out for yourself.
