This was just okay the dual POVs per couple just didn’t do it for me this go round. The story is interesting and could be exciting but it felt like too much was piling up. Like I get it’s a series but I need at least one issue resolved by the end of a book even if it’s just part one. I think more time should’ve been spent getting us comfy with Shio since he’s the star of the show basically. Glow throwing me off bad this novel and Glees tie in doesn’t mean much to me. Again it’s a lot of moving parts and situation that would easily be resolved with a conversation that no one seems to be having. Glow is giving dumb bird and her hesitation is off to me because she’s pressed to join the group but now that the opportunity is here she’s being weird. I hate her behavior toward her sister and I hope glee boss up and never speak again. Overall the author is talented but there’s multiple story lines here that overlap and intersect that makes this more of a messy read vs a high stakes page turner.

Long Review! Lisa Austin took me through there in book 7. No, I didn’t want Shio to wife Glow, and in Mexico, I immediately messaged Lisa because the way Shio eyed Solana, I just knew she wasn’t. I didn’t want her either. Am I possessive of Shio? And is! I’m seven books in, so I am of am of the entire Mob, Men, women and kids. Shio is my absolute heart tho. He’s the most serious and sensible of the Cuppacio men and is deserving of a wife, Mob purposes or not, with as much substance and a compatible and complimentary persona to uplift him. Not a user or someone offering nothing beyond looks and sex. Jagoda Bay has beauties on top of beauties, so bring something else. Money isn’t a requirement because he’s got that and will continue to get that. The Mob wives and fiancés all have substance, character and fit their men to a tee.
Oh, I don’t like Glow. Not one bit. She’s not worthy of either Shio or Tunan. Tunan, I’ll take because Don gave him the shortest date/deadline of any to marry and I just wanted him in. She’s not attracted to either. They were just an end to a means for her. Well, she might be under Tunan’s tool’s spell. All she wants is to get into “the circle” by any means and it irks my nerves. The wives have already let you in because of Jesei so why do you “need” to be in conversations or chats that involve Mob business. So irky. She needs to use that energy and be there for Glee and her niece. She can FAFO with these wives and I won’t feel bad. But once Tunan tells Leader about Lil Leader, it’s up for Glee and again Glow will have egg on her face from envy after the way she’s treated and spoke harshly and down on Glee. After acting like she’s perfect. Now she’s mad Tunan didn’t say Shio was his brother. Girl Bye!
Now I didn’t dislike Solana. Just didn’t see qualities beyond her beauty, worthy of Shio. Now, I thought we weren’t getting a training mission but Lisa and Don did not fail. It was hilarious, especially with Tunan being thrown in and wondering what the hell is happening. But for Shio to say when he was falling, he thought of Solana and her well being so he he’d marry her. This would be my first not happy ending in a Lisa Austin book. But Shio answered her phone and then entered the closet and aww hell. I don’t care what happens to her after Shio gets his daughter??? Wait…His what??? Now my mouth is dropped!

Awesome!
As always this author delivers an engaging entertaining read,🥰, that as soon as this became available I ordered the physical copy. This is Shio's story and he didn't disappoint. But I am on the fence regarding Glow - she comes across as desiring what the wives have basically their lifestyle, which makes her appear covetous even though she says, she just wants to be included in the wives chat 🤔, even though she's included in every event, gathering or girls night that they have, What is she really after? It's more than just to be included in a "wives group chat" Is she a secret agent? 🤨. Tune was a disappointment that he married Glow behind his brother's back, I didn't care how he handled that - for me Tune and Glow deserve each other, they each have a motive for their actions and it's centered around themselves which causes me to see they mirror each other, and I truly believe that Shio will be pleased in the end that he didn't pursue Glow. Solana is mysterious and captivating and confusing all at the same time - I had so many questions about her while reading, the main one was Why was she sent to America? Why to Shio? What man can teach a woman how to be a wife?🤔🤔🤔 So, I kinda want her to be with Shio thennnnn maybe not. I really enjoyed the way Ms. Austin showed us without telling us the core essence of each character. As usual the rest of the gang was included as well. I didn't read the last chapter to allow the release of book 2 before continuing. So appreciative that this is a full length novel 🤩😍🥰 and not a short read broken down into 6 books when 2-3 would suffice. Highly anticipating book 2.

Poised Under Pressure: The Making of Shio Cuppacio
I had to read this one slow because Shio Cuppacio not somebody you rush through. He built different. Layered, quiet, and dangerous in a way that don’t need to announce itself. Shio move calm, like a man who already made peace with who he is, even while standing in the middle of chaos. What really caught me was how he found balance between his religious beliefs and being part of the mob. He pray with one hand and handle business with the other, and somehow it works for him. That contradiction made his character hit harder.
I liked the story, but I won’t lie, I wanted more Shio and less side movement. Bringing in Tunan shifted the focus when I was locked in on Shio’s mindset. Still, it’s obvious Don playing chess. The pressure on Shio feel intentional, like he testing him to see if faith, loyalty, or survival gonna win when it’s time to choose.
Solana was intriguing but masked. She beautiful, but her confidence shaky, like she still figuring out who she is in a world that don’t wait on nobody. She hiding something, and I’m watching to see who step out once that mask slip.
The twins? Wild. No filter, reckless mouths, had me laughing because they say what everybody thinking but scared to say out loud.
Overall, this book had me on edge. Every chapter felt like the calm before something ugly pop off. If this was just the setup, the next one about to be all gas, no brakes. I’m locked in and ready for whatever smoke coming.

Wow.. Wow.. Wow.. Lisa done slapped the mess out of me with that ending! A daughter ?! Who's her momma ?! Then Glow done turned all the way the fck up on Glee talking about fck that baby. I get being disappointed but chill on her. And once Leader & his family find out about Princess Leader Glee & baby girl ain't gon want for damn thing. The club scene when the wives took Solana out she saw oh boy that was doing vallet in the club and bought that powder off of him?! Unless she had some when she came, ran out of it and needed more. I also believe Glow is pregnant or will be pregnant soon. Tune & Glow love each other real bad ! Fck all that we getting what we want this only marriage on paper bs. Especially when the marriage was revealed at the hospital. I was like oop tell her Tune ! The vibes with his family and when he call her my baby !! Lordt !! But definitely can't wait for book 2. I can't wait to see Tune and Shio relationship grow stronger! And the inclusion of Tune with other crazy ass Cuppacio's!

The cliffhanger is mind blowing! 😮🤯

This story went in a different direction than I thought it was going to go and I LOVED every bit! The story was mapped out so well and the scenes were intricately placed. The character development was really top tier and had great dialogue banter. I’m so excited for the next story because this one left off on a mind blowing cliffhanger.
**Spoiler: Can we also talk about the Django famous scene reference? Because I was cracking up the whole time! I love how the author Lisa finds a way to connect her past characters from other books! I think that skill needs to be studied because she does it so well that doesn’t make the reader confused.
Finally I really thought it was a nice touch to not only have an author’s note but an editor’s note as well. I never seen that done and thought it was neat!

AMAZING! I’m so glad we got to see more into Shio’s character. He was always a leader and it was definitely his time to really start stepping into that role. I can’t wait to see him show out. If you haven’t read the Blake U book prior to this, I highly recommend it. It’s young adults but it ties into this book.
Note to author: If you happen to read this, just know that this series is AMAZING and HILARIOUS. I appreciate the translations being within the next. In my opinion, flipping back and forth to a different section or copy/pasting to translate takes away from the moment. Also, the length was chefs kiss!!

THE MOB IS BACK BABYYYY 🥰🥰 Lisa Austin put her whole two FEET in this book. Her writing is evolving from series to series and I love to see that!
Shio has always been the mysterious one out the bunch with no POV in the other books, so to get inside his head was nice…and he’s just as throwed as the twins 🤣 he’s always plotting & scheming in the name of taking care of somebody!
This was probably my favorite mob book solely because literally everybody was in this book…if they lived in Jagoda Bay in their series, they had a cameo in this one!! Plus a few new characters.
Solana & Glow are going to give Shio & Tunan a well-needed run for their money

Secretive Shio!!! A daughter??? Man I wanted at least one Cuppacio to get it right. Tunan was the only one to get it right he just ain’t said nothing!! I’m not sure how I feel about Glow like what exactly is she looking for wanting to be apart of the Mob Wives. I also understand her frustrations with her sister Glee but she’s coming off real hard.! I’m kind of disappointed in Shio especially because he didn’t have to deal with half of what the others dealt with behind closed doors with his dad. We will find out in book 2!!

Oh Shio I was not expecting the turns Lisa took you on…. Shio is a pragmatic man who looks at everything from a holistic perspective but he was blinded more than once. If Shio’s mom does not have the gift of discernment I don’t know who does.

I’ve been waiting for this
Being able to read and learn more about Shio has been great!!! I love the 6 degrees of separation with the characters! As soon as Tunan popped up with a chapter, I was elated. You can truly tell this was well thought out and planned. Because Glee…. Miss mamas I just knew it happened but I couldn’t prove it! Now the ending I knew something was off in that club!!!! Great book, extremely satisfied!

I’ve read every one of Lisa Austin’s books, and each one seems to take you higher than the last. The Mob: Shio Cuppacio is captivating from start to finish! You’re drawn in immediately and feel like you’re part of the story, knowing each character personally. The twists and turns keep you on edge, leaving you saying, “I never saw that coming!” It ends on a cliffhanger that has me already waiting for the next one!

Didn’t expect some of what happened but then again this is the mob we’re talking about so I expected nothing less! 🔥🔥🔥 Now I’m counting down to see what happens next because, we already know Shio doesn’t play like that! That moment when you reach the final word and just sit there, breathless, haunted by what you’ve read? Lisa has done it again. This book didn’t just keep me up—it consumed me. I couldn’t tear myself away, couldn’t sleep, couldn’t think of anything else. It’s storytelling that grabs you by the soul and doesn’t let go.Shio’s book wasn’t just everything...It was everything and then some. A masterpiece that left echoes in my chest. That last page left me breathless!

Listen the way Lisa has introduced this new man Tunan you almost forget this is Shio’s story. Both these men are bringing the energy. We love us a disciplined,God first man. While also a straightforward about his business man. Can’t nobody make me hate Glow, she having it her way, but I trust growth is coming her way . I also believe she has the man to put her in her place and elevate her inside out! This book is so good and just know the ending will have you floored and anxious for part 2 right away!

Both would have been in it for the wrong reason but im happy for Glow, and I think she found her one 🥰

So many thoughts going through my head. At first I was team Shio and Glow but now idk. I still don’t want him with Solano either but I have a feeling he will be. I guess we gotta wait until the next one. I can’t believe he has a daughter too. ,so oh man. Started off kind of slow but still good

Best in the Series!
Growth! From the first chapter I knew that going to bed was a non factor, because I was going to finish this book no matter what. Shio was worth the wait and you can see the growth in Lisa’s writing (I’m a huge fan) with the cultural references and scenic descriptions. That ending alone was not predictable and I can’t sit for part 2, but will wait and let her cook! Thanks Lisa as this was well worth the wait!

Can’t wait for part two
Patiently waiting for part two. Shio has always been one of my favorites. I’m struggling to like Glow hopefully she redeems herself. I love Glee, I hope she say F*** her mom and sister and reach out to leaders family and boss up for her baby girl.
